hi Im having problems deciding wich proffs to choose between a orc raider or a monk...and I was wondering for the following questions:
1) which one is less expensive to maintain?
2)wich one can really hold its ground on a fight and dish some dmg?
3)how good is each of the proofs as in pros and cons?
4 and final) which one has less downtime between rests?
hope i can get the answer soon cause Im already 19 and Im still undecided....
Raider's get some nice abilities to really dish some damage later in the game, but as your first class, they are both probably equal for the grind. 1-20 is very easy for any class. Here's a bit of a breakdown to help you decide.
Raider's are a melee damage class. Both of their "specialty" classes focus on this aspect, and because of that, the Raider is also more of a brute force than the Monk. Monks, on the other hand, later go on to form support classes. As a Monk, you will do a wee bit less damage than a Raider (and that's not a whole lot of difference, on account of the low level), but you will also have access to a range of support spells. The most useful for soloing is the life drain, which does fairly high damage. It's not useful as a nuke because of your low MP, but it's awesome for reducing downtime while soloing. So 1-20, I'd say the Monk is your best bet, but don't make your choices based on the first class. A Destroyer will outdamage any monk BY FAR any day of the week 60+.
Yep, Destroyers are a blast, and they'll be able to hold their own very well in C5 with their ridiculous MEN. It'll be interesting to see daggers fighting Destroyers in C5. I wonder how that will turn out... ;)
You must visit a site which shall not be named. C5 has been officially released in Korea, and some people have taken the liberty of translating the patch notes. Let me PM you some more information.

thanks also Ive been seeing that the raider from the start can get stun attacks..and was thinking of.. should I buy a blunt weapon or stick with swords?
Early on, it doesn't matter. Use whatever weapons you want. When you hit D-grade, though, try to get your hands on a Bonebreaker. If this is your first character, you probably won't be able to, as it is the top D blunt weapon, but if you can get one, they are great for Destroyers in D-grade. After D, use two-handed blunts or polearms. Two-handed blunts are great for soloing; pole arms can get you amazing exp if you AoE with a healer.
Monks become Tyrants then Grand Khavatari.
Shamans become Overlords or Warcryers. Third class is then Dominators or Doomcryers.
But to answer his question.
Orc Raider/Destroyer/Titan is one to 'get stuck in'. Just walk up and wail away. And that pretty much defines the class and what skills he gets. They get light armor mastery, but you may as well stick with Heavy and just wade on in. They can hit very hard, but not terribly fast. Biggest defense is their large HP reserves and emergency skills. Their slow speed and lack of ranged skills leaves them weak in current pvp (Versus mage/archer) outside of the current frenzy+bow 'trick'. (This is being changed in C5) They can AOE with a pole pretty good. Very good pve char when fully buffed.
Orc Monk/Tyrant/Grand Khavatari is the 'flexible' DD. Only gets light Armor Mastery, but lots of totem skills to alter his playstyle depending on the situation. Add a couple of ranged skills and charge ups and attack/run speed buffs and they are fairly decent in PvP even in the current balace settings. C5 will see some changes, but what nerfs were coming got smacked down fast due to Kr uproar over their stupidity. Their balance in C5 is still in flux, but the class is very popular in Kr so I doubt they will change too much in the end. Tyrants don't get as much HP as a Destroyer, but can boost their atk speed very high. I'd rate their relative power and survivability in pve about the same. Maybe slightly higher for the Destroyer overall. But what the Destroyer needs in Equipment the Tyrant can make do with in skills. Very good balance between the two. The Tyrant is the one that takes more 'skill' to play though.
As for expenses,
Destroyers have more options in weapons so its easier to get a cheap weapon. Tyrants are restricted to Fist weapons which means they will likely be more expensive due to fewer on the market. Armor is about the same cost for both in the end. SS usage on the Tyrant is likely to be much higher due to attack speed and lower crits depending on the destroyers weapons though.
In the end they are both work out to be the same in power and costs. Tyrants are arguably better at pvp though and Destroyers easier at pve.

but with C5 changes .. destroyers will able to hold on pvp right? also polearms are they really good? cause i want something that can hold on both not just pve also I imagine that pole arms are good for AoE and was thinking now is it worth buying a polearm so i can fight many opponents at the same time after I become a raider?
Destroyers are a pure melee class. As of right now, they are able to use bows, which gives them some range, but they will NOT be able to do this very well in C5. If you can get close enough to your enemy, you will rip them to shreds. As of right now, the odds of that happening are very low, however with resists being switched to MEN in C5, your naturally high MEN and CON as an orc will give you high resistances to sleep/hold/slow/stun, which gives Destroyers a much-needed boost in PvP.
As for your second question, do not buy a pole arm as a Raider. It is very, very difficult to AoE effectively in NG, and you shouldn't need to anyway. One by one works just fine at that level range.

Polearms are only really good in PvE for Orcs. Get a healer with VR and your set. Most non-gatehopping PvP (gank or siege) is done at range these days. There are times you'll get close, but mostly people will dance in and out of extreme range to snipe you. If you manage to get into melee range in pvp having a blunt or 2H sword is usually better as there aren't enough melee left to create those aoe 'juicy targets'.
In C4 Destroyers could use a bow, then Frenzy + Rage for some pretty spectacular Patk levels making them short duration one shot killers. (Assuming they could actually hit due to their low accuracy.) C5 will reduce the Patk gains for bows when using those skills. No idea how big the reduction is, but it may remove the bow as the Destroyer's 'Nuclear Hand Grenade'. The skills they are given as compensation don't seem to be worth the range imbalance and may just end up being MP drains instead. (Parry stance, etc.)
okay so basically for polearms you need to have them in range to hit them... but you say its fine either way.. also the orc "hand grenade lol" is getting lowered..k. also on the pvp thanks So basically the destroyer is a tank without hate and oes good dmg...so any tips on lvl'ing that good orc radier/destroyer...??
and thank you guys for all this info and understanding of both profs. :)
Well for leveling a destroyer make best friends with a dark elf healer close to your level, with their vampiric rage buff you will be able to level very fast using pole. Poles are also cost alot less to level, since your killing 10 mobs with the same ss someone else is using to kill 1 mob. In c grade i suggest getting yourself a 2hand sword with focus SA, i myself prefered using plated leather armor in C grade the +4 to str along with my +4str-con dye was awsome and you dont really notice the lower pdef when you have soo much hp and vr to refill it. having less pdef also helps to get your hp down so you can use your frenzy more often.

Polearms work well in pve for 2 reasons.
1) SS efficiency. As Faile noted above, your using the same SS for 10 mobs as for 1. The more mobs the better the efficiency. (Assuming you can take the damage.) I try not to spam SS alot with normal weapons, but with a pole in AOE the return makes the expense worth it.
2) Kill efficiency with VR. Assuming you get VR you can level much faster because your downtime for 10 mobs is the same as for 1 mob. (Assuming your not draining the healers MP on burst heals.) Basically, with a non-pole every extra mob acts as a damage multiplier. 2 mobs at once = 3x damage, 3 mobs at once = 6x the damage, 4 mobs = 10x damage. With a pole damage is soley additive as long as you hitting all the mobs. so 2 mobs = 2x damage, 4 mobs = 4x damage. With downtime the same as a non-pole killing mobs one at a time, you will level at an additional rate equal to the number of mobs. Thus why all characters without Pole skills got big nerfs in a previous chronicle. EVERYONE in Kr had a pole and were leveling with them, even the healers.
For leveling the Orc, either a pole as above if you can get the healer/buffer/VR. Otherwise your next best option is the 2 Handed Swords. (Focus SA is best.) Here's the breakdown on why 2H swords are best.
1)There are tons of Buffs that maximise the power of Crits and reduce the accuracy penalties...but NONE that help blunts overcome their inherit low crit base. Thus for a Orc Swords gain more when buffed than you might ever get from a blunt. Even the few Focus SA blunts aren't enough to change this. High Patk makes High Crits. And when a 2 H sword Crits you notice it! Especially if your buffed. And if your a SS fiend, every Crit saves you SS. The more Crits or the higher the damage per crit the more you save.
3) Destroyers don't get any Shield skills. Thus even with buffs, their extra defense from a shield is barely noticable.
4) Destroyers get skills that can be used to increase their base accuracy without using a blunt. The only skills blunts get that doesn't apply to the rest is Stun and Crush. (Crush is high level skill regardless.)
5) Stun has been nerfed Chronicle after Chronicle. Armors resist it. It lands at a reduced rate, and it's very easily broken. A crit on the other hand can neither be resisted or broken. Well...they can be blocked, but blocks aren't that common compared to the other.
Thus taken all these into consideration, your fastest way to level Destroyer is either with a Pole in AoE or with a 2H Sword fully buffed up. Next fastest is those same two with no/fewer buffs. And last in speed is any sort of Blunt.
and if i don't have money for a two handed? or buffs? I just going with the fact that Ive been holding myself against a few enemies not the top everything heh...either way okay so any 2 handed sword d-grade that may not cost 800k? or I must buy a good starter d-grade and start pulling cash..

Best thing would be to work up a few more K's and get the 1.2M weapon. (Two Handed Sword...yes that is the name of it.) The 500K one (Heavy Sword) is cheaper but it is low D. It would be easiest to delevel, manor or make an alt for that extra cash. You'll have to decide which is best for you.
manor?? I have other char that if this one works Im thinking of giving his equipment to this one but care to tell the manor thing and how good it is?
Manor is a way to get materials through the castle owning lords. Depending on your server, the lords who own castles, and your current material market, the manor can be a good way to make some nice cash for your level. It's not a simple thing, but it's not that horribly complex though.
Basically, a Castle lord can 'create' (by spending cash) Manor seeds. You buy those seeds from the manor agent, then 'sow' (aka Plant) them in a mob. (Level and region dependent.) Kill the mob, then using a 'harvester' purchased from the manor agent, you can harvest the fruit. Note: Neither planting nor harvesting is a 100% deal...it can be more or it can be less, and you can 'influence' it by choosing certain mobs. (xHP mainly) You then take the fruit back to the manor agent, and each day the manor lord can buy back a certain amount of each fruit. (Set by the Lord up to a certain amount.) Often the best fruits are sold 'back' extremely fast on a good manor. When you 'sell' the fruit back you don't get cash. Instead you get a number of materials (1 of 2 choices, set by the Lord) equal to the in game 'base value' of the material. You may then sell those materials at market price to whoever is buying those materials. What this does is allow you to get base mats at the NPC price. And if your market is like most servers, stuff like Animal bone, Iron or Varnish is going for much more than their 'NPC Value'. Thus you can make good money selling mats if your able to put some mob killing into it. (NOTE: Seeds prevent all non cash or seal stone drops...)
There should be a big stickied thread on the player guide forums for you if you want to read up on it. But try to avoid jumping into it without researching it as you can lose money if you don't pay attention. (Granted you can make a ton if you do things right...and avoid the pitfalls.)
For now I would suggest just handing down your NG equip to an alt and make the cash you need that way. You can read and test the manor at your leisure when you have a good D weapon.
