DSL connection for playing 2 accounts at once

I'm considering beefing up my current computer or buying a new one so that I can play 2 accounts at once. However, before I spend the money, I need to know if others have tried this with a 512K DSL connection, and if it is satisfactory. That is the best I can get for home use where I live, Cable Internet connections are just not available. Thanks for any feedback I can get.
I used to play on 512k DSL bwfore i upgraded to 4 Mbit connection.
The real important thing is the ping you have, since that is the main problem causing lag. The amount of data transfered is not as important as the ping time.

I play two on a 384 connection. But it's aDSL not sDSL and I'm really not sure that makes a difference. I sometimes will even have three accounts going. The only warning I give you is that if someone else on the network is opening web pages, it will cause you an intense about of grief.
Thanks for both replies. I take it from both that my 512K DSL connection should be able to handle 2 accounts at the same time.
dualboxer or botter again..... should be dissallowed. Hate this thing going on even on the official boards.
Botting is completly different from dual boxing. Get your facts straight.

I play with two computers completely legitimately.
Digi=completely confused on the difference between botting and 2 boxing.
First off all, how do you go about figuring who is 2 boxing and who is legit? We have 3 PC's in our home, mine, my wifes, and our server. We have 2 L2 accounts, one for me who plays fairlly often, and one for my wife, who has 1 main and is a casual gamer.

Now how do you determine when I am 2 boxing with the 2 accounts and 2 computers or when it is infact my wife playing the 2nd account. My out of network connection on both computers share the same IP, so you cant say blocking multi connections of the same IP would do it, becuase then you disallow my wife ( a legit player ) and myself to play at the same time. Talking to me in game you would never know I was just 1 person if I didnt want you to, as it is ME that controls both characters. The end result is there is no difference from 1 person 2boxing (WITHOUT THE AID OF 3RD PARTY PROGRAMS ) then 2 people sitting there, other then 1 person has to do twice as much.

Nature gave you a powerfull thinking machine for a reason.

While I cant tell you how well you will do with DSL ( had DSL when I played UO and would multi box 3 accounts then pretty good, but dont know about L2 now as I have had cable for awile ), I will reccomend that you do in fact build a new PC instead of beefing up your old one. The reasoning being that its MUCH easier AND effiecent to 2box on TWO PC's rather then run multi on 1 PC. Belive me. Just include the purchase of a home router in your new PC budget, set the 2 up as close as possible ( and in some cases this doesnt even apply either, as a wireless mouse and keyboard can do wonders :P ), and your golden.

Hope this helps and let me know if you need any help getting it all to work ( I do not belive however any port setting changes where needed for multi connection in L2 ).
