I'll have to agree with Drexis here. I can't say I really like cov... oh, I can't say I like them at all (Mune's so greedy ._. Gimme back thisson's manor!), but comparing them to being run by an actual farmer clan ... nuhuh.

Your an idoit. And Drex, if cov leaves, there will still be legit clans around. Remember, there are still clans fighting cov, not all of us disbanded our clans cause we couldnt handle the pressure.
NCSofts reply translated: We dont care, farmers are 50% of our income and with the cut/brides we get from the adena companies, we are doing pretty well. We dont look to the future at all, we have no idea that most of legit players will be leaving the server and the farmers will follow shortly after, killing the game in the end. Post locked.

This goes back to showing some kind of customer service. I read articles on why WOW is stomping L2 in North America. They all point back to botter/farmer control. North America does not like to compete with scammers, botters, or farmers. Mindless toons running around, not connecting with people, just selling gear at ridiculous prices. Now, market share L2 is in the top five. But you have ran most of the people of to other games. You had the chance to keep the more competitive people, and that's what these types of games are about, people. With your lack of response and lack of action, you are really telling your customers, you do not care. Now what ever part of the world you are in, that is bad business. To the very few who'll get to read this (cause the post will get taken down soon) take this to heart. Don't copy your business plan after NC Soft.
every cov i know would leave cov in a heartbeat to join the next most powerful alliance on the server the minute their adena scam gets flushed out, beginning at the top.
Even tho i've run around on devianne clanless since almost the beginning of NA release. I was killed by cov or dyn quite often with th usual "you want pk". then i die. Not to say i have not been killed by new ones too.. But i also remember the server getting together and taking out dragon clan. I remeber the even tho your lvl 10 or 20 the mob rules in wars.
It was devianne as a whole. I know players had there accts stolen and/or hacked from this bloody conflict. We held them out of giran for every siege they tried. I died multiple times in eg and sieges fighting finalboss and his goons.
I will put all my grudges for any individual who comes to arms for fights anywhere. I know a 64 sk is not the greatest in high lvl fights this may involve.I maybe a lowbie to many players eyes old and new, but pm me and im there Zammzt.
I will drop my prices on Nikwillig for any pre fights or wars againsts them aswell. I will die for my beloved Devianne server against any take over of farmers and/or bots. I was here and helped build this comm from the beginning and i am not going to let some farmers take it either.

The PvP system isn't as fun and gives the advantage mainly to one side. Any [censored] EMO can play WoW. Even the crafting system is made EMOs. I left WoW to come back to L2 because you actually have to earn everything here. Besides WoW has their share of bots and farmers. Haven't you hearrd about the level 45 Hunter Exploit farmers use to farm level 60 dungeon Bosses. Not to mention their dungeons are instances adn they only have to leave for 5 minutes to reset it. They just aren't as perfected as the ones in Lineage 2 yet.
Instances are key here - games like Ragnarok and Lineage 2 that actually make do without all the instanced stuff (instances are the most anti-MMORPG concept I can honestly think of) have to show their problems, while the same things hide in games like WoW.

You have mistaken my point if you are thinking I am comparing gameplay of WoW to L2. You are right, there is no comparison. The comparison that I made is WoW 6 million plus North American customers to the 1.2 million Lineage2 North American customers. Now the article that gave these numbers directly pointed to Botting/farming as the major contributor to the difference in the customer base numbers. Now where in that did I say WoW is better than L2, I did not. Right now NC Soft is losing it's customers to that game. That is my problem. To see a superior product deminish because of a lack of customer service or lack of attentioin to the problem.
Botting and farming, however, as pointed out, are just as much of a problem in WoW - except that it's not visible, because wrong-doers hide in instances to avoid detection, obviously.
There are many reasons someone would choose WoW over L2: graphic appeal (taste can't really be discussed, some people actually think the game in all its shoddy lack of texturing skill and lack of atmosphere looks good), UI customisability (although I personally think the WoW UI is way too cluttered, and the controls seem, unlike L2's, clunky), ease of play, being a warcraft fan, being a casual gamer, having friends who play and not being appaled by Sony's ridiculous policies in regards to international customers, not wanting to PvP on a PvE basis, wanting to PvP casually, lack of awareness etc.
I honestly can't see the ebay issue driving anyone but a ****** off L2 and to WoW, they're equally widespread and problematic on both. Certainly, there is no slim supply of ******s, but in all honesty, if the article points out this as the only or even main reason, I have to doubt them. Most WoW players probably don't even know L2. It's an unknown niche game.

When I started brig helm was 500k and I thought that was rediculasly high and it took me tell lvl29 to get it. Now brig helm is 4mil+. What are the new players suppose to do. I would say 60% quit and go to another game. 30% buy adena and 10% actually take the advice of players on how to make adena.
But even getting new players to the game is very difficult. People don't want to pay for a game just to try it out. Most people I know if they are not already playing the game they have never heard of it.

I believe them when they say they ban EULA violaters. But more often than not its someone that said a dirty word 1 to many times. and not the guy in town who has 25 lvl 12 crystals and 10 Bauim rings in his inventory selling them for rediculas prices.
So I just hope in the future people can get past the fake online grudges and animosity towards one clan tag or another to stop the farmers if they ever do try to overtake the server.

Prices are set by the players, not NCSoft. I remember Brig helms as low as 200k and that is because i set them at that price back in C1. Brig helms at that time could be made for 187k if you farmed all the mats yourself except for crystals and gemstones. The strange thing happening right now is that all the basic mats: iron, bone, etc are all dropping in price right now. Yet all the recipes and finished items are going up. I seriously doubt it is the farmers and botters driving the prices up. It's all the greedy *** players.

The server will never band together. There's no way you'll get FD/Cov/Imp/whoever else together in the same area without ganking each other.... it'll just never happen.
Wait and watch. If the farmers ever get so big that they become a serious problem for Covenant, there'll be banding together all right. ;p

The relevant "we" can and will not, until they feel threatened by the farmers; and half of them never will, because they will likely be wearing their tag by the time the farmers get that dangerous.

I don't see immortals running around with bought farmer accounts assisting them to level and pvp. Honestly I don't see immortals around much at all.

This is actually my first MMORPG...L2 was a great game...had HUGE potential...its a real shame that NC couldn't care less. I wonder to this day what it could have been like if NC did not let the game get exploited for a few extra bucks. Oh the shame!
The only good and hopefully lasting thing that L2 has done for me is given me the opportunity to meet some really great people.
