I'm currently a 31 elven wizard but already planning for what I want to acquire as a SPS. I've been looking through the item database and have heard from some other players but I'm still curious about what is best.
For weapon I have heard that Homunkulus's Sword with acumen is best for its 15% boost to casting speed. What about the Sword of Whispering Death with Magic Power, with its 99 boost in M. Attack. Or perhaps the Ghoul's Staff with mana up?
As for armor, either the Kairmon set or the Demon set? The karmain set boosts cast speed but the doom set boosts overall attack power with the +4 INT boost. I would think the Demon set would be better as I think stronger attacks is more efficient mana wise then being able to cast more spells. Thoughts?
I think it breaks down to whether you're outfitting for PvE or PvP as your primary goal.
For both I would suggest Homunculus w/ acumen.
For PvE go with the added power of Demons (unequip gloves while sitting for faster mp regen).
For PvP I think you want the added speed of the Karmian.
If you always have an SE following you as an MP battery, then go with Karmian for PvE as well. The faster you can drain your (and the SE's) mp, the more xp/time you'll get.
And don't forget to get your +INT, +WIT, and +CON tatoos.
From a Sps this is my opinion.
C Grade
Wep: Homu/acu the more +++++ the better.
Armor: Demon Set you can use this for PVE forever so keep it.
I wouldn't even worry about pvp armor yet unless you pvp all the time outside or arena. Just save your adena.
B Grade
Wep: Same Homu/acu you have unless you can afforde to buy and higher + homu/acu. Don't waiste your adena on SOV/acu it is way way way overpriced.
Armor: PVE Demon , PVP Avadon set is what I used but again dont waite adena on it unless you pvp alot. I just carried it around just incase. But it was a waiste since most of the open field pvp was against 70+ players and I lost anyway.
A Grade
Wep: Homu/acu +10 or better or SOM/acu and ++ how ever much you feel.
Armor: PVE Demon, PVP Dark Crystal with NM shield its just a bit higher in Pdef than DC shield.
If dont already have them you will need to get TATS as soon as you can afford them.
1st: +4Int -4Men IMO since we have the lowest Matk
2nd: +4Wit -4Men cast speed is very important specially in pvp.
3rd: either +4Con -4Str or +1Wit -1Men. I went +4Con since hp is low and you need all you can get.
If you can't afford +4 -4 Dyes got ahead and get +4 -5 dyes for now and just upgrade your tats when you can afford it. -10Men doesn't hurt that much now but with the change in C5 I dont know if -10Men would be a good idea.
