Hello, a bit new to lineage 2, although I've played many mmos over the past 6 years. I have actually tried lineage 2 back in its 1st week of release and didn't enjoy at the time, but a friend of mine who is playing has assured me its change quite a bit since then and wants me to play with him. He is on Erica server, but since we are coming in to play, he has said he will reroll a new character on a new server with us. I am curious as to what everyone thinks would be the best server for us to start out on. So far from what I have read on the Server Personality posts, Hindemith Server seems to be one of the best. I enjoy PvE play as well as PvP play, so I am hoping for a server at least somewhat active in both. What do you all suggest?

Hindemith is definately the best, but don't let these boards confuse you.
Some of the larger servers don't use the L2 boards here because they are highly moderated. They prefer sites like www.l2blah.com (http://www.l2blah.com) where the children can throw ***** at eachother. Hindemith just has a fairly adult community in as much a sense of the word as "adults playing video games" can be taken :p

More seriously, I am (was) on Erica, I didn't play there for months and even if it is always great to see new players and all, I don't recommend you this server. But well, the grass is always greener in the neighbour's meadow ... (I still think Erica is the worst choice, with the prices you will have hard time to get started as a new player, and it is just one reason within others)

To the OP: I always tell people to check out the official boards as well as the L2blah boards because they might find that other segment of the community more to their liking. In no way do these boards accurately reflect the entire community.
There are just less people here calling each other "poopy pants" and if they do it gets removed. :p

Yes, I have been looking at the boards to try and get an idea of what kind of people are playing on the servers, Hindemith, even with some drama (which will happen regardless, always does) seems for the most part to have a decently mature player group from the majority of posters here. As for on the other board, Hindemith doesn't seem have as large a player group posting there, the ones posting there do seem a bit more immature then the ones here. I still like hearing directly from people on what they think is the best choice, they know their servers the best.

If you play any server besides bartz, you will get disgusted with how bad the server is and wish u played bartz from the start.

Ah, I was in a hurry for a meeting and read too quickly. But, here's what I do. When I frequent noob towns (which I do often on my SE to buff people, etc) if someone is selling noob gear for cheap, I buy it and put it in my WH. Sometimes I just walk up to someone and give it away or I use it for one of my frequent rerolls. I've also gotten some good noob gear as drops (hard leather helm and a falchion a couple of weeks ago). Most of the time, I never actually get to meet up with the new person anyway.
All of the A gear I have has been crafted, by me. I did fail one majestic ring, though. :(

lol if u played an sws or an ee in our clan you would be partied 24/7 until u were 78 and subclassed the other... then you would be partied to 78 again...
Of course u better like pvp, cause we are in a pretty intense war right now.
Is there a real difference between servers aside from the amount of people on them? Right now I'm creating a character on Kain, and I havent noticed much of a difference between it and Bartz, aside from having less lag because there are less people. :P
I'm want a server with less people on it so I dont have to get lagged out when I go to Giran or something.

and a lot of others... until you hit higher lvl those things prolly wont concern you, but once u get a high lvl... They will.
Yea, communitys and attitudes differ server from server, which is what I was concerned about. So far I am enjoying the hinde community. I've met quite a few friendly people thus far, and pking or griefing hasnt been an issue with what few run ins I've had, and those run ins were actually quite humorous :p. I am level 21 atm on my human knight, working on my gear upgrade.

He is ruight bartz is like the NFl but Kain is like Rugby. If you make it to the top you'll hav been beaten and abused, but you'll enjoy it the whole time.
old enough to get fershnukled! hinde has the best alcohol, they even some quests on in dion for superb wine and beer :) the deviant wine from astron is okay, but its definately an aquired taste :eek:
