I just purchased the game and was wondering if the game manual was availible online anywhere? I haven't been able to find one online and it sorta hard to pay when you have no idea what your doing. Anyone know if the game manual is available online ?
The game manual the one that was first made with the retail version is a bit out of date. If you look over the "New Player Guide" and "The Library" section that should answer most of your questions.
But feel free to ask whats on your mind and we will do our best as the community to answer them.
I too, wanted a guide.
Only thing out there was the original Prima guide...the good news is that it is cheap.
It generally, sometimes, sort of describes some parts of the game.
All other information is mostly out-of-date and useless.
Experienced players on this forum are the best source for getting details. On line sites and this site's references are pretty good too (though you shouldn't believe all on-line player generated quest guides are perfectly accurate!).
Good luck and have fun! Run around and ask questions and interact in the game.......welcome.
Thanks for the friendly welcome :). I've figured out the basic controls in my travels (well at least i think I have :D). A few questions I still have:
1. Is there a nearst target key or do you just have to see one and point your mouse over it? I hope there is cause that could become a problem cause of my lacking skills in cordination.
2. well ok maybe I only had one question at the moment but I'm sure many more are to come as I go on.
Yes in your Character window, under Actions tab you have a "target next" key, but the targeting in this game just sux, you'll have to get some skill before everything runs smooth.
Welcome to L2 ;)

Indeed there is an actions button for this manouvre but you better get used to selectingyour targets with the mouse ;)
Feel fre eto shoot any questions that come at you and I'm sure any of us out here will be more then willing to help you out. You may also PM me here on the boards if you wish, I'll try and comply to your questions within my knowledge pool :)
Welcome to Lineage II, the Target Next button works only if the next target is within hitting range ( of a sword/blunt/dagger/polarm) and not if the target is at a distance. which server did you chose and which class?
I just started a Dark Elf mystic on Gustin. I think I am going to go for a SpellHowler, I've read on the boards that this is a good PvE and PvP character. I was hoping to use this to explore the game and once I felt comfortable with it maybe try out a few other classes. Is Gustin a good server? I haven't seen too many poeple yet but I am in the noob zones, if there are better ones I won't cry over switching since I'm only lvl 6. Thanks for the help and unlike all the other mmorpgs I've played I haven't once been flamed for being a stupid noob. I have to say so far this is the nicest community I have seen.
We are required to be civil here or Mistress Mistryl cracks her whip! :)
Hindemith uses the forums here for their server talk, but other servers use different forums, that's why you won't see much from them.
I don't know anything about Gustin, but in general I think you can have a good time no matter where. Erica is generally considered the armpit of L2, but I love it and think it's a great server if you know what to expect and how to deal with things. I've met a tremendous amount of wonderful people here and I'm sure it's the same no matter where you go.
Of course. It's a great server: you got a lot of people but not too many to cause problems like those they have on overpopulated servers :D Regarding the low areas: you won't find anyone really until you reach Gludin (level 15 or so). This is the same on all servers, don't despair those areas are just waaaaay too big ;)
I'm more than willing to help a new guy - so u can pm me in game/mail me (character same as board name). I play mostly European times though - but if I can, I will help out.
Spellhowler is a good class to start off with too - so good choice.
