Maximum damage B grade spoiler

Player Questions Started Last reply 20 posts
Alright, what I am looking for is to make my B grade spoiler the maximum damage dealer he can be.

My main concern is if a blunt or b grade duals would be better. The way I see it is this

AOBA w/ haste SA (6% speed bonus plus masteries)

Dual SLS*Tsu w/ crit SA

Blue Wolf heavy

+5 str -5 con
+3 dex -3 con (to get rid of the negatives of bw since even -1 accuracy makes a huge difference in my experience)

Now, I need some opinions here. Since I am not a tank and will have VR the amount of damage I deal should be able to help keep my HP up even though it is lowered.

I probably wont grab aggro because even buffed up I still wont be the maximum dd.

Also, I will keep my no grade apprentice stick in case some mouthy person needs to get stunned.

Please give your critisims/suggestions etc on this build and how to make my dwarf the best he can be.
use duels until 76
if you have vr constantly just nerf the crap outa your con
+5 str +4 dex sounds fair to me
Max damage from a B grade dwarf?

Plated Leather set (failing that, a BW set).
OE'd SLS'TSU (possibly a GS w/ focus would do better, but I dont know, I havent tested it).
+5Str +4Dex -9Con tatoos.

Mash away.
LMOA...... are you my bf and created another forum account !?!?!
You have no idea how your situation is EXACTLY my bf's situation. Anyways, we had a discussion about damage last week. Like you he has a B grade Spoiler and wants the max damage output. And he has Vr all the time. And hes not the main DD, doesnt get agro that much. The similarities between you two is just too funy :D rigth down to the stunning people who deserve it ;)

Anyways....
Tatoos -> I completly 100% agree. Boost ST (at least +4), Boost DEX (+4 while your at it), nerf CON. Besides if you have a prophet in your party you have Btb, and from my experience im my little group, even if our spoiler get agro time to time, VR works like a charm, and hes fine.

Armor -> BW heavy ftw! He was in Plated leather before but the mobs just plowed through his hp when he got agro time to time. Not enough pdef. Trust me on this.... you want BW heavy. You did mention the accuracy problem, but again if your fully buffed you should have guidance buff and that conpensates for the lack of accuracy. His dorf doesnt miss all that much even though he didnt get that +dex - con tatoo yet.

Weapons.....
I wish I was paying attention when he was explaining it to me.... I was half alseep and missed half of it.
Anyways , we were discussing the dps on B blunt vs. B duals. Give me a few hours and Ill hunt him down and ask him what his conclusion was.
lol ironically i did just create this forum account after my old game account expired yesterday O.oooo

Well, I did some investigation so this may help your bf a bit too. So I went ahead and got the tsu*sls duals and am very happy with their performance so far. Patk is around 680 w/ 58 se buffs.

I went ahead and got +5 str and +3 dex (just to even out the bw negatives)

I will be getting the rest of my bw heavy set today and the SE just hit 58 so vr3 here I come!

I also had plated leather in the past and mobs could definately kick your *** if you got too many on you. With bw I figure the benefits are almost the same but the pdef is much much greater. From my calculations duals will be more efficient with damage even with no masteries. In A grade I will have to decide...one really nice thing is that duals are so much cheaper and even at A grade most people dont have SA's because they are so spendy...
He was calculating his dps using www.l2p.bravehost.com (http://www.l2p.bravehost.com)
If your good in math and following instructinons you should deffinatly have a look at it if you havnt already. Its basically a web site of the "physics" behind the game. You can calculate your p.ack and atack speed using formulas.
Then you just do p.atck * atack speed for both wepons. Whatever number is bigger, thats the one that theoretically will give you the most damage over time.
you should factor accuracy.
criticals are the most important part in pve though. too many buffs stack (way too many). Blunt will never be better than duals in case of 2 critical power buffs (aka DW/Fire dance) or SoH+crit power... The current state of blunts can make a child cry. They are useless in PvE aside possible stuns (also not great). Dwarf blunt masteries add less than 130pattack at highest levels (unmodified by str/level bonus...) so it's not fantastic compared to over 2 times more criticals (buffed criticals just rip through)
The one thing I know he should get is a Weapon with Focus. If your fully buffed and have DW (im assuming since you said you have VR) then you should deffinatly go with a focus weapon. Go go crits ! its insane how fast you can take down mobs if you crit alot.... 2k + damage on crits... 4 people waking away.... doesnt take long to go through a mobs hp.
Well im glad the OP posted something like this today, i have a dwarf to, that i desperatly need to get to lvl 62 and was wundering how i could acomplish this.

Now i think i know...
So to recap, this is the best setup for a dwarf fighter:

Armor: BW SET
Tattoos: +4 STR -4 CON ; +4 DEX -4 CON
Weapon: +4 Tsurugi*Samurai Long Sword
Jewls: ofc BO SET

Plz ajust if i missed something, else i think i will start looking for those duals...

Cheers!!

use duels until 76

I dont think so. Sometime in the late 60's your blunt masteries start to make a difference. Since A grade duals do not have a focus SA, you will do more damage with a blunt.

For example, on my 75 WS, my patk with Elysian Axe is about 90 points higher than with dual kesh.

As far is going -con, just remember you will die more often. The extra health helps you get to the bsoe as a gank squad is beating on you.
Yep, you got it heldreth!
Tsili, even if blunt has 150pattack (130 from masteries, enjoy) more it doesnt matter since it has 2 times base less critical rate. (base crit rate is mul. by dex + buffs).

Blunts are terrible weapon of choice. I'd not even consider taking blunt masteries on a dwarf... Blunts are just useless unless having no crit buffs at all.

And btw, dwarf in pvp = bsoe. Unless red or 76+ lost xp in pvp is too minor to speak of. Having more hp just to avoid ganks is silly, i'd rather lvl faster than worry about pvp.

-8/9 con, OE'd sls*tsu and enjoy (plus B grade weapons are excellent for pve due to significantly lower cost of soulshots).
Well, this depends on how much risk you want.

Best damage output is a lance with crit stun and AoE'ing everything light green you can find.

BUT... this requires an SE friend for VR, buffs and heals.

Good crit chance, decent damage output, uses your masteries and even better spread across multiple targets... lower accuracy and high risk round out the plan.

Crit stun means less damage overall... sure its a low chance but it WILL go off more often than you think it will while AoE.

Long Blow is nice, but once you get the area down, crit stun is better IMHO.

Your call.. this is more risk... but the absolute best Damage and XP a BH can do.
Well, I wanted the versatility of a standard melee weapon so I did go ahead and do the bw/tat/sls*tsu setup. Loving it so far and bw actually looks decent on an ugly male dwarf. I will have to get the guts to try +4 but we will see.

trust me i checked it over a 3 day period
+0 kesh*kesh came out with more damage over time than +0 meteor shower with focus

pretty sad that an unSA'd set of duel could do more damage than an sa'd blunt with masteries but any BD will tell you pattack is useless in pve, the only thing that matters is crit rate

and yeah i have to agree with the other guy
if you can manage to pole that would actually be a better option for xp

Yep, thats pretty much it.

To the OP, Ive managed to track down my bf and the answer is: Blunt weapons may have more p.atck but the crit rate sux so so much. If you wave full buffs, a weapon with focus will ALWAYS end up giving more damage. In his opinion, hes always goona stick with OE tsu*sls no matter what.

Even if you have only 1 extra crit per mob, its going to do more damage than your blunt with extra p.atck. Now if you do 3, 4...5 crits per mob.... immagine how much faster you can take down the mobs. More crits ftw!

Tsili, even if blunt has 150pattack (130 from masteries, enjoy) more it doesnt matter since it has 2 times base less critical rate. (base crit rate is mul. by dex + buffs).

Exactly. I noticed that I almost never have any good crit buffs. Without them I was getting very few crits with my +4 tsurugi*samuri. With A grade it will be worse, with no focus SA. Crits with blunt is so bad that doubling it does very little.

And btw, dwarf in pvp = bsoe. Unless red or 76+ lost xp in pvp is too minor to speak of.

I agree with the bsoe, but for the XP loss, this may be true on the test server, but not where I play. There are some weeks where all I get is 4-5% of a level. A death without a brez can be a setback. With my high health I only die 3-4 times a year.

Having more hp just to avoid ganks is silly, i'd rather lvl faster than worry about pvp.

-8/9 con, OE'd sls*tsu and enjoy (plus B grade weapons are excellent for pve due to significantly lower cost of soulshots).

I have several clan mates with -8 to -10 con. They die alot, and are always mouching brez. They get none from me.

Im glad to hear that, cuz this morning i bought all the stuff on my grocery list :P
I even OE to +4 my duals.... Dont have the DEX tattos just yet....(Still thinking about it)

Ya in BW, dont look half bad and i even got him a Pirate Patch..lol, hes a mean looking now....lol

Dont forget that duals have way better OE success rates then regular weapons, just becuz u need to OE to get the SA to be apllied, im not saying go for it tho..... :) but you will difinetly do better....
Hope you get them to +4.

Im ready to go kick some mobs butt now.....

Cheers!!
Yes I see now what the big deal is with crits vs. patk. Also, lets not get into the whole pvp dwarf thing..imo dwarves are for making money and castle sieges not pvp.
