I have a serious problem and i need some help before i make my decision.
First of all im not a complete newb to lineage 2, but i am a newb nonetheless. My highest lvl character was a lvl 20 mage in c1. I have tried many alts and have finally settled on a class.
Now i want to make a healer, a human healer, so a bishop. So here is my trouble. The server on which i have my measly 100k is Gustin and from what i have read Gustin has a serious problem with bots and raid boss farming.
Now to check which server has the biggest bot problem i went on a website that sells adena (not that i plan on buying any i think thats a rlly stupid thing to do...but know thy enemy :)) and found that bartz/teon have the highest prices for adena (which makes me think they have least amount of bots) while erica has the lowest, and right after that gustin.
So if someone could please tell me ..... do these bots really cause such a big annoyance that it would be wise to switch before i start leveling, or should i just go to my home server and stick it out.
Any type of input would be great.....ty all :D
P.S. please excuse my sentence structure and grammar...its late and im not going to bother fixing it up.
Sorry man - but you'll find bots on every and any server. That won't change but NcSoft says they are working on it :eek:
As for your cost/number theory, I think it's the exact opposite. Ever heard of the "Law of Cost and Demand". The more people want something and try to buy something, the higher the cost gets.
I'll let you put 2 and 2 together for Bartz and Teon ;)
from what i was able to piece together from the various forum posts Bartz seems to have been one of the only servers that has successfully kos all the bots off of their server. (by bots i mean bot clans/ farming clans) so i imagine they would have less bots than most other servers.
Well I suggest you create a level 1 character on Gustin - go runnning around DE Village/Dwarf Village. Then do the same on Bartz. You can then compare and make a decision - but nothing beats Gustin and you don't have the loggin issues that Bartz people have. As for Teon, well I won't say cause it'll get this thread locked 4 sure ;)
If you wanna change though, now's the time to do it, not in your 60s :p
I really dont want to change to another server, but from what i hear gustin is rlly down on its luck. Seeing as how you are from gustin i was wondering if you could tell me about the market inflation (if there is one), if you are in a clan have you ever downed a raid boss (or have the farmers beat u to it every time), is the main clan/alliance a farmer clan?? (i hear LS is wreaking havoc on gustin) any type of info you could give me would rock.
As of this moment im considering between Gustin and Bartz. Id like to go to gustin because its my server and i feel like i owe it to stay on it, but then again i want to play on a server that is dominated by players, not bots. :p
Well, I would ask that question in the Gustin forum. Better to get the answer from many than from just little old me ;)
But regarding LS, yes they can be a problem at higher levels (ie 60+ if not even higher). Until then there aren't many problems with raids. People fight over raid bosses but that's normal - we all want the drops :D
Whether you have a clan that farms raid bosses or not - you'll always have problems getting high level raid bosses because many allies will want them. I'm sure that it's not easy to raid at higher levels on Bartz either - and that they have killed each other over bosses countless times. In reality - I don't think having LS present or not will/would change your gameplay.
That said, by the time you get 60+, hopefully they will have been booted out
I've been on Gustin since OB, and to my experience, bot infestations are at their lowest ever.
You still have a few oddballs in the usual spots, but it seems like the majority of the few bots left are in the uber level areas (65+) or are in one of the two Raid Boss clans. (KOS to about half the server in that level range.) Even the cats aren't completely over run by them, even though there is usually one or two groups in them. (Methinks the bots were being 'overhunted' =P )
Market prices are fairly stable, although I think it's in a bit of a lull. You can see some items rising a bit in price and others dropping. A.bone tends to range from 800a to 1.2k adena in the buy/sell shops and thats the main high priced mat. Most everything else being a bit lower. Supply feels a bit low right now...but then again so does demand. Personally I think the handling of the manors for Dion (BAD) and Gluido (Weak) and a few of the others is putting a crimp on Enchants and thus OE crafting is at a low right now.
There has been some recent churn in the clan/alliance makeup on the server so I expect a few castles to change hands in the future.
I can only tell you what I know from my own experience. I'm on Gustin and have a few toons. I've had no problem leveling any of them. I've been on numerous raids (bosses up to 45ish) and whilst I've had my higher level character running about, I've seen plenty of bosses that are up that are around the 50-60 level.
I can give no comment on LS as I'm not high enough to come into contact with them. I've seen many post about them but can say no more than that.
With regard to bots, I see them around but usually find that where they are there are plenty of mobs and they respawn fast enough so I can level without any problems.
As for the market, it has seemed to stay more or less the same for what I'm needing, different grades of SS, mats etc.
I've no experience of any other server so can't comment on them.
Teon is a disaster. Farmers have too much power, and too many costumers.
Before you tell me to do something about it, I'll tell you that I'm very apathetic, so I really can't be arsed (and I'm gonna complain anyway, because I can). ^_^

Teon is the server mostly affected by bots. There are tons of them in starting villages.
There is a little number of bots I've spotted on Gustin. Not much, to be honest.
There are bots in starter villages on Bartz. Not many in Talking Island territories, but moving to Elven Land I've found many many lonely dwarves :(

weeelll...bots are everwhere and i wouldnt say that their prices would be a good indicator as to which has more...it might just mean that that particular server A) has less demmand for the adena or B) its more popular and their low on supply.....however bots should not be what makes you decide on a server, mmorpg are as much about community as it is about the game and grinding and such, so pick a server that you have friends on, or had some good experiances with and stay on that one and meet some ppl :p it'll make it much more enjoyable for you
Stick with gustin, its really not that bad at all. If we really want to do raids, we can find some higher level bosses normally. I've never had a problem not being able to level in a spot because of it either, normally you can just train or kick the [censored] out of whoever's bugging you. It's kinda fun too :)
