Well first of all id like to give a Big Hello to all the Community
I bought Lineage2 2 days ago and ive been experimenting with it

I am a hard core MORG gamer (i have a life though ) :P and I have an Epic player to another game ( WOW)
the reason I bought Lineage is simple I want new experienses.... and the game looks great

well....
Comming from another game though has many disadvantages, i look for many things that im used to have and are not there and i see many things that dont know exactly how they work but im guessing
my first entry into the game stroke me like a brick on the head.... having used the arrow moving way the mouse one looked wierd  but i am used to it now :)
what was worst everyguy i met didnt speak english  ... so i desided to check the game get used to the controls :pand then come here and
ask the veterans
I would like info and suggestions
1. can anyone suggest a nice server ? so i can start my character there?
2. can anyone plz help me get used of the game etc a clan maybe??

well thats all

thanks
first of all, welcome ^_^
for the server, i think one or another doesn't make much difference... anyway, if you go on Devianne, gimme a call ;)
1) If you're Euro and want Euro friendly siege times etc. go Teon. Other than that all are the same. (Teon and Sieg have the most ppl I think, because they're the servers that always show full)
2) Once you settle to your server make a post to the servers forum.

First off, I want to get one thing across.

WoW is a minigame compared to L2. L2's grind isn't twice as bad, or ten times, it's 100x longer and harder. Buckle up this is a 6-18 month investment to see endgame content.
I have to say, it's fun playing lowbie chars too. It's not all about the end game :)

And welcome to L2 :D

BTW is it just me, or is it easier to get to 20 here than in WoW? Or am I just not trying very hard in WoW... Maybe it's because I'm so much more familiar with Lineage. Or because I don't grind I WoW - I just bounce around and do quests. I think I just answered my own question :p
L2 1-25 is easier because of noobie buffs these days. L2 buffs are so overpowering. WoW is still a matter of weeks from 1 to max level.
well i really am in the progress of learning the game but
so far and PLZ correct me if im wrong i have this issues with lineage comparing to wow

1. In wow trading is very easy ... we have a channel for trading and auction houses in wich u can go put your item start an auction go to sleep and next day the item is sold here i only saw ppl yelling in order to announce that they sell something...

2. in wow when i kill a mob i and only I have access to the thing he has.... (loot) if im in a party i can choose between various ways the that loot will be split through the game engine and in big raids i get to choose Master looter in order to protect epics from dropping to the hands of ninja ppl.
in lineage i so far have the impression (i may be mistaken ) that when i kill a mob anyone passing by can take what it drops...

in wow we have post from wich i can send things to a friend,
i havent seen anything like this here...

in wow i can see how an armor piece will look like on my character before i buy it

ive been doing the noobie quests and i just cant find out whats their perpose... i mean through questing in wow u get XP weapons etc here so far nothing

Ill go to the servers u told me guys and start a player there
I am gonna give this game a chance to win me  a three month period will do

see u online :)

thats because the game starts when u hit 60 m8
everything before is just a big preparation
for 40ppl raid were u must have learned your character's skills and know how to cooparate with 40 more ppl in order to go to places like Molten Core and BWL were one mans mistake can kill 40 ppl in a matter of seconds
Friend plays, 60 Paladin there :p I've played it, it's easy.
In response...

1: We have Giran in L2. It's a city you'll come across once you're higher level. There are hundreds of sell shops there with basically anything you need, though some towns such as Dion also have things in smaller quantities. In the early levels of L2 you won't be doing any trading as all your equipment will come directly from shops. Since there are no auction houses the economy in L2 is driven by bargain hunting. You can make a living by snagging deals from the right seller and overcharging to the right buyer. Finding items is no problem, finding the right price is the tough part.

2: There are methods of controlling how loot is distributed in a party. When you're out soloing and kill a mob, you have a few seconds to pick up items before they become open season. That few seconds is all you need, especially with an auto pickup command built into the game. There's nothing annoying like Epic gear in L2, everything is out there in player shops.

As for your non numbered questions, you can send messages to friends in L2 via the community tab email or by private messaging them in game.

If you want to see how gear looks on your character in L2 you can check various sites, including the armor section of this one. Fashion sense is not reccomended, as you'll be going for stats instead. Of course, some people go for the best looking armor regardless.

Quests are not like WoW at all. In L2 exp comes from normal hunting. You can obtain some extra money and weapons early on through quests, but you should see them as additions to the normal grind rather than something you do to level or gain equipment. Take advantage of all quests while you have newbie status, as the rewards are higher than normal.

yep, different way here: you set a sell/buy shop and you must remail logged in order to sell... there's a dedicated trade chat channel (type + before writing your message) but shout is quite abused instead... anyway, is not so bad to leave a shop all night long for time to time...

(loot) if im in a party i can choose between various ways the that loot will be split through the game engine and in big raids i get to choose Master looter in order to protect epics from dropping to the hands of ninja ppl.

anytime you kill a mob, you can see the drop with some sparkles on it... then if you wait for some time these will disappar. in that time you -or your party- is the only allowed to pick it up, after is "free for all"

in wow we have post from wich i can send things to a friend,
i havent seen anything like this here...

we still asking for this :P right now you can only freight to your own alts (look in warehouses)

in wow i can see how an armor piece will look like on my character before i buy it

no way... you can pay in shops for a "dressing try" but shops doesn't sell armors higer than D grade

ive been doing the noobie quests and i just cant find out whats their perpose... i mean through questing in wow u get XP weapons etc here so far nothing

well, quest rewards are various... mostly they give money, some give armor and sword, but don't expect much :P

GL then ^_^ hope you will like this game
There is a trade channel in L2.. But no one uses it. I've switched it off entirely, because I've only seen it used as a Chinese chat room. -Everyone uses mainly orange chat (shout) for trade purposes. And you have to be face to face with the person you want to trade with. Or yyu can put up a shop in town (or whereever. Town is best) and go afk, if you wish. We have the race track which you can go to for free from any of the main cities (non-newbie village) if you need to meet with someone who's in another town.

You or your party has single right to pick up loot from a just killed mob. I believe you have 15 seconds to pick up before the loot becomes free game.
Unfortunately we don't have a loot distribution option where everything goes to party leader. But it has been suggested, and I think that would be a very good idea too.
The closest thing is "finder's keepers", so if you're gonna raid, be sure you can trust the people that are participating. If not, and it's finder's keepers, you can always just PK the person that picked up, if they're not givng the items to whoever you agreed should hold on to it :p

You can try on armor and weapons that are sold by NPC shops. This would only be D grade items, unless you can try on stuff from lux shop? Not sure about that one.

There are a few quests you get xp from, but mostly you get items or adena, and at higher levels, recipes for A grade armor and weapons (60%, meaning they have a 60% chance to succeed. If you fail the craft, you lose everything T_T. There are no 100% armor/weapon recipes from A grade and up).

As for the lowbie quests, do them as much as you can. It's a good way to get some cash for upgrades.
What race are you? Look up your starter village on stratics, quest section. (http://lineage2.stratics.com/content/library/quests/index.php?view=loc) and see for youself which are worth doing.
lol 3 long answers on same subject... don't say we don't love noobs :)
No, luxury store items can not be previewed before trading, the same as with any other merchant with the item trade interface (where you pay not in adena but in some other item, such as ancient adena or crystals).

PS: No, trading is not easy in L2; but in exchange, it remains a valid and very interesting part of gameplay. I've "quit" the game, but since having to reactivate my account due to certain people disappearing on me, I resolved to keep playing the market in case I returned - wouldn't mind having A Grade waiting for me.
Hiya, welcome to Lineage 2.

If you want a real challenge, come to Erica and I'll show you a few tricks around the block. :) Feel free to PM me for questions.

You do not need to shout to sell, but it can help. You set up a "buy" or "sell" shop anywhere you want with up to 3-6 items (depending on character and tradeslots) and people can look at your wares for sale or at what you're buying. In general you should learn the game first, find out which regions contain which kinds of players and sell your wares in a town accordingly, Giran is always a hub for items of d grade and upwards. This is something that takes a bit of geting use to.

in lineage i so far have the impression (i may be mistaken ) that when i kill a mob anyone passing by can take what it drops...

No, within the first 5-10 seconds after the mob died, you (or your party members) are the only ones who can pick up the drops, after that anyone can pick it up. This doesn't mean someone will (very few bothers with lootstealing), so don't freak about it :)

in wow we have post from wich i can send things to a friend,

Friends usually trade at the monster race track, its quite easy :)

in wow i can see how an armor piece will look like on my character before i buy it

You can do this with no-grade or d-grade armor up to you getting level 25, you can try them on in the stores.

i mean through questing in wow u get XP weapons etc here so far nothing

You get the same here, just have to do the right ones, and remember, up until level 20+ you can get free buffs from the newbie adviser in town.

:D

Also, be very careful of scams! There's a thread (http://boards.lineage2.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=533688&page=0&view=collap sed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1#533688) describing a lot of them, which you may want to cast a glance at when you have time. It's rather long. Just always double check when you're about to buy something; it may not be what it's advertised as. Scamming is perfectly legal, but it is frowned upon by the majority of players.

If you're trading with someone, and they keep cancelling the trade, chances are, they are going to put an items of a lesser value in the trade they plan to confirm. A new player fell victim to this the other day :(
You wanted something hardcore....

I am a hard core MORG gamer

As long as you keep that in mind your do ok here in lineage. :)
