i was thinking, i have a spare account that i just made a dwarf to lvl 19 on yesterday. going arty, because i already have a scav. the plan, of course, is to make a lil extra $$$, but i am not sure what will work best. my origional plan as an SSD or SSC maker, or maybe a manor system farmer, maybe a top D weapons crafter. i looked into gtr pots and they look good as well. maybe a fisherman at higher levels, because of white fat fish and dwarves can hold alot of fish. so many choices, just not sure what will be most profitable. any input is great, thanks.
Shot profits get higher with the better shots you can craft. That being said, shot manufacturing goes very slowly, even with rechargers at your beck and call (I have a 70+SE and a 62+EE and I still go insane waiting for mana.)
The money isn't in the top d weapons, it's too easy to exchange v getting the mats.
Mats is good money, so if you can farm good seeds with it and actually turn them in, get to it! But in that case you'd almost surely want to make a BH, spoils + manor rocks. (Especially if you don't want to level high enough to get css or bss, bss is where the profits start being worthwhile.)
Another place where the money is at for dwarves is in the trading. You can automatically sell and buy one more item than any non-dwarf, which is nice. You don't have to spend proof of fishing unless you want more extra spots (which you can't start getting until 40 anyways, so for a trading char, dwarves are it.)
sounds good. this is what i will do - level my arty to a WS, and sell SSC and B while i am asleep, and during my free time i while farm manor with scav ;) thanks man
well do you know someone who can crush higher crade items? IF so do yourself a favor and stop lvling the dorf now and lvl yourself an EE. You can get crystals just as cheap as a dorf if you have somoen you trust to crush. Then find a little craft shop in giran or dion crafting shots for cheap. give yourself your weight buf and start crafting. Have your scav near by to hold the extra materials and finishedc shots. (this is best done with B or A grade, but any will work) take your scav port to godard and sit on the steps there price at the server avg and make money while you sleep.
WS is a waste of time if your just lvling it to make SS. TRUST ME on this one. I make more money per week on y dwarf with recipies of B grade 60% then any ss I craft. unless I power craft then its 50 mil of materials for 2 days of selling. (usually do this right before a server maintence period where they "fix" some various text) Sell it higher then average and still sells cause ppl need thier crack
actualy my brother is a high level warsmith, there is a lot of money to be made, if your willing to put in the time, first to get high enough to craft ***, which is where the real money is at. Then to spend much time looking out for cheap crystals, or items that can be crushed. And then the time to sit there crafting.

Is it worth it? well lets put it this way, my main is a lvl 75 Sorc and i have a lvl 62 WS both decked out in Full A grade and made a sizeable chunk of adena over the past 2 years, so much so between 3 of our clan, a 62WS 55WS and 49WS we made about 1.4 billion adena crafting SS and buying and selling in Giran in just over 2 month. So in short is a SS dorf worth having? HELL YER IT IS!!!
At one point, I was able t make 1.5 to 2 million per week making shots.
But that was when there were a lot of people in D grade. Once I realized that the market for D shots was drying up (and I sure as hell have no interest in leveling a dwarf) I used the money I got from them to then play the market.
the best value of artisan imo is to make shots for your own toons.
The rec's at lower levels are easy to come by, you can buy bulk soul ore in starter areas making it worth a trip, and best of all, the artisan is probably trying to oe some weapons anyway which means d-crystals will be available (contrary to pop opinion, d-crystals from failed oe's are not 'cheap'---they are among the most expensive in the game!). With ewd's on most servers at 6-800 k, and considering it takes 4 before failure, that's 2.4million on ave in ewd's gone down the toilet--not to mention a 4-5 million adena weapon. Blow up 6-8 million adena and get a couple thousand d crystals.......NOT cheap. That makes them worth about 2k each. You can crushy elven jewels from giran for about 640 per soul crystal (depending on tax, etc.). Heck, you can set up buy shot and buy themm from other players for 550 each.
But since you got em, you may as well make cheap ss for your other toons.
Over times this saves a lot.
Selling ss? Particularly D-shot is for suckers. No margin and other players complain endlessly if you try to sell even at 13.
Skip the selling--there's no real money in it.
As for higher shots--remember you're going to have to play that dwarf to essentially b-grade--not an easy thing to do without groups, raid bosses, or special skills to speak of. Imo 40-50 takes FOREVER for a dwarf.
My main is a nuker and I try not to move up in gear until my WS can craft the shots. Also I needed a seeder so the leveling the WS is a bonus to the seeding. Also now I can go leveling crystals all the way to 10 if needed. So the WS has multiple uses. The best part is when I need to do things I can just craft shots. Put robes and a conversion weapon on the WS, click like mad, then walk away and come back later.

I made over 300k profit yesterday on SSD and BSPSD. There's still some money in it (despite the heavy competition). I still make over a million a week just on d shots. Its not great, but every little bit helps.

I have a WS, and I agree that there is money in ***. However I dont think you will get A crystals from crushing cheap A grade. Unless someone makes a mistake in their sell price, crushing A grade is a very expensive way to make crystals.
For example (on Erica) crafting pheonix rings would get you crystals at about 19k, not counting the 30% failure rate. A crystals normally sell in the 11k - 15k range.

you dont craft and crush thats generally a waste of mats which you could use to make your own weapons and armor
not sure on your server but of gustin these are the things to look out for
tallum light, tallum robes (top and bottom), dc gaiters,
the cheapest ive ever seem phoenix jewles for is 15k crystal cost ive got tallum light for as low as 8k which is a hefty profit even ignoreing the fact i could resell for 12k crystal cost
EDIt: theres alot of spelling mistakes there but i didnt change em
