I bought a +6 enchanted mithril dagger in Dion for 28 mil? Hve i been scammed?
I would also find it useful if anyone knew when high grade D and most C grade equipment becomes available to buy from the NPC Traders? (what towns/villages) ty for your help :)
well quite obviously then that was a bad buy :( that really is BAAAAAAD. Don't trust a Dwarf! PS. not all Dwarfs just ONE!
Anybody have any clues of any price lists that exist?
PS. I traveled as far as Aden to try and find a mithril dagger how far does someone need to travel?

Oo spending 28M??? on a D Grade dagger??? Let me guess where that 28M came from ......
Someone had a realy good day lmao
That 28M would had bought you top D grade gear AND top C grade gear and you would have been good equiped till mid 50's level. Please do your self a favor. Try to learn the market. Check out private stores, see and compare prices. If you don't you will end up spending lots of cash just to find out this game will suck for you b/c you haven't learned to play it.
Take some time and learn the market before you make any big purchases. Doing some research in Giran will help you out. Read up on the Seven Signs event if you want to obtain D and C gear without going through other players. It's clear you don't know the value of that adena you hold, so I'd suggest making a fresh character and trying to earn your way to D grade before you try to buy anything else.
Well you can always sell the dagger in Dion for 28 mill ... im sure another "new rich" player will make the same mistake again "Mithril dagger +++ cheap cheap" :P
You just made someones day with that purchase. U may want to check around before you make an impulse buy like that. You didn't get scammed, u just made a horrible investment.
Wow - this is awsomely, awsome if you know what that means ;). I can almost not hold it in. Ok for D Grade items you really shouldnt go past Dion. I can tell you obviousley havent read the EULA. I suggest you do. (Unless you got that money from a friend, in which case I suggest you start pulling a ninja). To save you a lot of time reading that complicated nonsense on the Seven Signs... well basically:
Once your above lvl 20 you can go to either the priest of dusk or dawn (look here (http://www.lineage2.com/Knowledge/sevensigns_2.html) for the current champion on your server.) Note which side is winning/won last - sign up for this side as it will be very VERY likely that they win again next term. So you go to either the priest of dawn, or the priestess of dusk* (i think, im from hindemith ;) ). I usually choose avarice (more on that later). etc tc your signed up. You can only sign up every other week so dont loose it if it wont say particpation in the seven signs anywhere. You then choose your sort of sub-faction or w/e. Avarice, Strathe (ekdjjkxek) or the other one lol. Avarice gives you buffs if you win and debuffs if you loose. It will also let you buy Enchant Scrolls from the MoM (more on that later). Stargsfthe is more for Clan Leaders the other one (its late -.-) i unno lol. xD omg.. lol ok ok..
Once youve signed up you can enter catas and necros. Kill mobs they drop Seal stones turn that into the same guy you signed up with and that will help your side win the event - and give you ancient adena when the week is over. Yes its amazing, money doesnt just drop from mobs and.... the gods. Quests are your friend - I should know >< Moving on....
Once your side wins and the week is over youll start hearing shouts about the Blacksmith of mammon. This is where you can do all sorts of amazing things like give high grade weapons special abilities, craft special weapons, UPGRADE CURRENT WEAPONS (like a lowbie daggar) with some of that amazing Ancient Adena you just spent your week earning, Yes grinding does Pay off.
The merchant of mammon is similiar sept he sells stuff, like Gemstones, Crystals, Enhcant Scrolls etc. So you can make that +w/e 28 mill mithril daggar a +681 D Crystals. (random number)
For more information. SEARCH FUNCTION IS YOUR FRIEND. I suggest you reroll and change your name before anyone starts hating you for supplying their enimies.
there is a website you can check out to get an idea of what the average price is for items on your server. I checked it and a +6 Mithril dagger goes for about 14mil on most servers except erica where it is selling for 50mil LMAO. I would still say that is too much and would not pay more than 10mil for it. Actually I wouldn't even pay for an over enchanted D grade weapon. D grade goes buy so fast it's not worth waisting the adena.
What I would like to know is how you had the 28mil to buy a D grade weapon if this is your main. if not and its an alt still how did you have 28mil and not know the market.
buy the ask about the website in game it gets censord on here.
On Lionna, Top D-grade items that are ++'d go for a very high amount of Adena. I think +8 SOL's are around 30-35 million.
So while you did make a bad buy if your on Lionna, its not something to emocut yourself about.
If your not on Lionna though, well.....i went ahead and modified my post so Mistryl wouldnt have to!
I am on Lionna :) but i have learned my lesson the money i got was from a friend (a good Friend) i just feel bad for wasting it. As for rerolling i'm not sure  I guess i'll see how things go.
I think i have to restrain my urge to buy things :) it was quite impulsive :)
Don't feel bad, if your a new player, everyone makes mistakes.. trust me I could tell you a worst mistake.
it goes something like this: a friend of mine ws looking for something for his bow (I think it was a crystal) but anyways this dwarf pm'd him & said "I can help you."
"He said do you have the crystal" & the dwarf said "I have something better" So the dwarf told him to party him, so he can meet him. My friend thinking nothing of it partied & went outside of town. The dwarf told him to go across the road to the tree.. my friend at this point was thinking ooookkkk...? The dwarf dropped 1 adena on one side & 1 adena on the other side.. at this point they could still see eachother across the road standing at opposite trees. The dwarf told him to drop his soulbow.. My friend looked around to make sure no one was going to come running up & not even thinking.. dropped his soulbow.. waited for 30 secs then picked it up.OH NO!!!! Thats when he realized that he was still partied with the Dwarf & that soulbow that was Overenchanted & worth more then 28mill was now in the dwarfs inventory.. moral of story don't trust ANYONE check the pricing first either by yelling "PRICE CHECK ON..." or ask a friend.. even post it on this web site & get multiple opinions.. :) No matter how stupid you might feel for doing something like this or how many people might call you a noob! It is still truly the safest way of doing it! I feel bad for you & I hope some way you make your money back :D GL
What does it mean? Take the +6 case. There is (on average) a 30% chance to make implying that (again on average) a +6 weapon COSTS 3.4X the parts going into it. In this case a top D weapon (1.6M + 480K AA) and 6 EWD (50K AA + 100 blank scrolls each). Lets say you value AA at 1.8 adena (this is high) and blank scrolls at 3000 adena. This puts the raw mats for a +6 top D at 1.6M + 480K*1.8 + 6*(50K*1.8 + 100*3000) = 4.8M. Now the probabilities say that you would have to (on average) try 3.4 times to get one success at +6. So the "value" of a +6 is 3.4*4.8M = 16M.
Many of you will see the flaw here since some weapons break going for +4 and +5 and because you get crystals back when the weapons break. So to fix this you run a Monte Carlo sim (can you tell I'm bored today?). And, assuming a top D weapon cost you 2.5M and EWD scrolls cost you 390K (both of these can be easily achieved using MoM and BoM) and D crystals are worth about 600 adena. Then, the "cost" (or more correctly the expected value for cost) of a +6 top D weapon is 7.5M adena. However, the twist is that you have to put considerable more at risk to get to +6 since it will likely (as stated previously) take 3 to 4 top D weapons to yield one at +6.
Well Im going to be up front this time with you. As per my other post about the well - mannered tone of this thread ( still holding VERY true might I add ), the fact is you proclaimed yourself brand new to the game, but spent 28 million adena on a OE D grade weapon.
Human intelligent deductive reasoning takes over, and people assume you recieved this adena by illegitimate means. Hence all the refrence to the games EULA ( End User License Agreement, the thing you agree NOT to break every time you start the game ).
The poster above is stating that if you did get your adena to buy that weapon by any other means but gathering it yourself, then in the end you got what you deserved.
HOWEVER, in one of your posts you state " I got the money from a friend ". There are two outcomes to this, your either telling a lie often told by those that get adena through illegitimate means, or in the end your being truthfull about it.
Regardless, my advice would be to learn the market from this day forward. While the chances that you will get back exactlly what you spent on that dagger are slim, if you are indeed a newwer player and that was all your money and your gimped now, I suggest selling the dagger for the actual market value and buying new gear with that. As it stands, even if you could only get 8 mill for it, thats still more adena then any NEW REAL player would have by level 20. Buy what you can, and in the future learn to exersise caution and edjucate yourself on the actual server prices for items before you go on a " spending " spree yourself.
Personal comment : I myself will cry neither Ye or Na on this one. The doubt remains in both my mind and in all those that read your statements that you got the money " from a friend ". However, such incedents can in fact happen, and do, as I to was given a good sum of money ( ok not good HUGE ) by a friend who didnt even play anymore when he saw I was playing. Moderate your funds, learn to buy low ( even with a large wad of cash ) and even play the market to make your own profits. Trust me, that adena you spent on that dagger may semm like an awfull lot right now ( as was what i thought when I first had all that money ), but its easy to burn through, and if you havnt gone to Giran yet and looked at shops there, you relize 25 million adena really isint all that much at the higher levels.
I actually was also given money once form a friend.. Not tons but what happened was, she decided to quit after playing he game with me for about 5 months or so because she was moving & it wasn't her computer to take with her. So she decided to split her acct chars stuff up between people instead of spending all the time of selling it. She gave me stuff & some money & I guess gave other stuff to other friends & then I used the gear she gave me to sell it *which was awesome.* I was never directly given 28mill so I don't know what to think?!? I still try & keep in touch with her threw e-mails when she can use the computers at school. I actually truly wanted her account, because her characters were high BUT she deleted it instead :( *BOO* lol :p

Just my thoughts.
I stand and applaud you for being the better person and stating so eloquently what we are all thinking/snickering about.
To the OP, never buy an OE weapon. I'll say that again, NEVER BUY AN OE WEAPON. Make your own.
Enchanting isn't as difficult as you think. Especially for D grade items. For 28M you could have acquired about 10 Mith Daggers and enchanted AT LEAST one of them to +6, if not higher. Odds are in your favor.
As for your "friend," next time ask for advice, not adena. "A fool and his money will soon part."
I stand and applaud you for being the better person and stating so eloquently what we are all thinking/snickering about.
Thank you. However, there is one more course of thought about the original post that has yet to be brought up, but is still a good possibility none the less . .
That being that the original post was nothing more then flame bait. Hence my sheer disbelife over the calm and collected temperment of this thread.
People who earn every adena they have, whether thru hunting or the market, are careful to research the prices before they buy and sell.
The people who get things 'easy' don't care as much so Easy Come, Easy Go.
Also, people who make the game 'easy' are robbing themselves of the best part of the game, the feeling of accomplishment you get when you actually do things honestly, rather than cheat your way.
While I am not saying that this applies to the OP, PermaBan ALL Ebayers! (and watch the bots go away)
Let me add to this - regardless of whether you got the money from a friend or bought it (and I wouldn't guess either), it will not serve you well unless you know how to do it. 500k to Kruken's hands are worth more than 5mil in mine, because before we know it I will have blown 5 mil on cute and useless things or alt gear, and Kruken will be prancing around in A Grade somehow garnered from his 500k.
If you earn money on your own, through manoring, playing the market, crafting or raiding, you will make smarter purchases, feel more accomplished, and girls will love you*!
Be glad that you made this mistake now, and not in A Grade - if you had bought this far over price in A Grade, you would be short a few hundred million, not an easy thing to replace.
It means one of two things: Either quite a few ppl have used "friends" like that, or we have all been beaten to the point where automated-for profiteering and adena "friends" no longer matter. :(
I was given money from a friend once. 500k! Im not buying the 28 mil from a friend story.
Nore do you have to. However, as I had argueed in one of the first threads I posted in on these boards, the giving of money and items in MMO's between freinds ( both RL and in game ) can and actually does happen with a great degree of frequency. To tell you how much money my freind Jose left me with in game with my brand new character would probably make you cry, and or state that I wasnt being honest about where I got it from, as he had multi high level charcters when he left the game. However, unlike the original poster, I researched server prices, average OE on average user, etc. In the end while I had ALOT more then 28 mill, I only bought a +4 Mith dagger :P
Like I said, he is either honest and made a bad mistake, is fibbing and learned of karma, or was just posting a made up story in the hopes of inciting flames in the thread.
To each thier own.
Just my thoughts.
( Sorry every time the topic is brought up I argue the point. As I stated in a different thread, I guess I only argue it becuase the situation applies to me and the automatic conclusion people come to of me being an "ebayer " makes me highly uncomfortable. )
I can't discount it either, because I was running around with Llothlian's OE'd B Grade duals while he was "soldiering". :p But of course, he didn't give me those, he lent me them. He will give them to the nearest BSS vendors when he finds some EWBs though. ¬_¬;
I meant this post to be a highlight to a mistake that was completeley of my own doing. And maybe allow other players to see that mistakes happen. I do not appreciate the accusations that have developed from this as they are void of any foundation what so ever. This will be my last post under this topic.
Don't get frustrated with some of the replies in here. people are very distrustfull of people who end up with the amount of adena you had at lvl 20. Wether you get it from a friend or not.
I have personally given low lvl toons 2-3 mil in newb towns to keep them from getting to frustrated. It's just that so many people do purchase adena now days that most people don't buy the from a friend story since everyone uses it.
You learned a hard lesson. There are web sights out thare includint this one that should be used to figure out the price of items. Also when you do start earning the adena yourself you will be alot more carefull about what you purchase.
One reason people don't believe your story is because a friend gave you adena but you didnt ask that same friend if this was a good deal before you bought it.
Most of us never saw that kind of adena until high 40's or even in the 50's. I never really learned how to play the market until high 50's. Was lucky that events were awesome for loot last year or I would never have had B grade when I hit 54. Just be more careful with the eceonomy.

Oh come on, Croathe, you have to be more thick-skinned than that. Some of these posts are accusatory, but most are just really our way of giving you a hard time for such a bone-headed decision. Look at it from our perspective: you say your friend gave you adena, but then this same friend apparently abandoned you to your own devices...to the point where you had to come HERE to get advice after the fact. I mean how much adena did your friend give you that you felt comfortable spending 28M of it on a D grade weapon? I would have cut you some slack if this had been a +6 Crystal Dagger or a +6 Dark Screamer. But a Mith Dagger??? ROFLMAO. This is comedy at it's best! :)
Don't let this discourage you from getting some constructive advice. My advice: at D grade you don't need an overenchanted weapon of any kind in order to level quickly. A +3 weapon and the right mobs that are weak to your element/weapon are all you need.
Try to sell the Mith Dagger and recoup some of your adena. Your server must be experiencing a wave of higher level re-rolls which is driving up the prices of overenchanted D grade. If there is a demand for overenchanted top D weapons, you won't have any problems selling it. But if you can't sell it, use it to level and just chalk this one up to experience.
PS: C grade will be here before you know it. Please check back in with us before upgrading your equipment.
ok apparently I was unfair in thinking that no one would give someone in d grade 28+ mil adena. Sometimes I gear up new d grade friends. I spend alot of time playing the market rather than grinding. So I have some adena to throw around if I need to. So yeah I have helped get sweet d grade gear. But I go buy it for them and give them the gear and spend 5-6 mil max. I dont know this story about 28 mil and no idea whatsoever of market prices is a perfect example of why our game is in the state its in right now. If someone is willing to pay 28 mil then the days where I pay 3 mil for a top d weapon will be long gone in no time.
I was given money from a friend once. 500k! Im not buying the 28 mil from a friend story.
Well It depends on how good a friend that is.
I have a friend who I know very well.
I'v lend him 20kk adena to get some market playing capital and I'v also given him an EMI bow +1 CS.
So basicly I'v lend him around 32kk.
And she/he paid you back? Good for you, good for her/him for beeing fair. Unless she/he's your R/L friend you took quite a risk imo.
Well yes, and yes it's a person I know really well oog. Actually we do party together quite often :) So if he doesent pay me back I'll just get him drunk and take some dirty piccy of him and issue them here :)
I am on Lionna :) but i have learned my lesson the money i got was from a friend (a good Friend) i just feel bad for wasting it. As for rerolling i'm not sure  I guess i'll see how things go.

I've got a great deal on a light crossbow for ya... only 25 mill :p

Agreed friends help friends and multi-million adena kind of help too. However I would never hand over 28 mil (or even 5 mil) to a total newbie and expect him to know how to spend wisely. So yeah i would do the same you are saying and give gear best suited for him... gear picked out and paid for by an expierienced player. The story of being given 28 mil to do with as he pleases doesn't wash at all with me.
However I agree with a previous poster that said the original poster is full of it, that none of this actually happened and only made this post for flame bait.
