Best weapon for an Elven Oracle

Being an elven oracle is hard :(
I am finding it difficult to lvl cause my spells are too weak. Any ideas on what weapons are good for elven oracles? I have seen plenty of people running about with Duals what what do you guys think?
I like duals for 20-40 personally.
No point in D Grade duals unless you're a seriously impoverished palus knight or human warrior who anticipates being unable to buy a C Grade weapon at 40.

Get a claymore or mystic knife depending on what you're doing - if you usually have groups, a mystic knife gives you plenty of MAtk for your sleeps and roots to land while only using two shots, and you can crush it and sell it for a profit when you're done with it. A claymore is good if you want to get in there and DD a bit, or if you have a light armour set for soloing.
I prefer duals over a claymore for a healer due to low accuracy, missing a swing with duals isn't as bad as missing a swing with a claymore.
Hmm I dunno I used 107 duals on my cleric and oracle both in c1 and later in C4, worked out nicely, nuking, rooting, etc. After 40 I'd use something else though.
I personally wish I had a DD weapon like Duals. I did use fists for a bit (with my all knowing friend yealling at me telling me im such a noob and should get a pole and root/pole or get a mage weapon). Im kind of pasive so I eventally had to Nuke my way up to 40 and believe it or not im still a good deal of lvls behind my clannies and I still dont have a DD weapon - No a homunkulus sword is under no circumstances a DD weapon, wheather that be mage or melee. Especially when your B grade. My advice get Duals or Fists. I dont really know the difference sept Fists prolly crit less and miss less. So it dpendds on how risky you are. Mage weapons effect heals at about 2-3 hp. Poling and rooting (uber slow, main reason i didnt want to do it). That daggar idea you had isnt that bad... sept of course they miss like mad.!!!! Im hoping daggars will be better for me at B grade or A grade. I dunno Imma have to mess around.

D Grade:

Duals (Your looking for "107"s - thats how much patak they have)

Fists (Gl finding these for sale - use the BS.)
You can easily level to 25 nuking whith MAtk 22-28 weapon with newbie SpS or with MAtk 43 weapon without using SpS (more MAtk is better, of course - if you can afford it) - just don't use Disrupt Undead :D

After that, you need to start playing in parties. Not because you cannot solo further (you still can for a while), but because partying is how you learn your player skills and find your ingame friends, and you will need a lot of them both later.

When you are in the party, MAtk 43 weapon is enough to do MP-efficient crowd control without spiritshots for white-to-yellow mobs that aren't sleep (or root) resistant. With BSpS your sleeps will easily land on pink and low red mobs, as well as on white sleep-resistant mobs. NoS, OB, PH are the best places for you now, AC is slightly worse.

When you get to lvl 30 (recharges), you need to try raids. It is not so easy for an EO to get into a new raid group, but once they raid with you, they will love you. An 1-bsps nograde weapon is the best here. Don't forget about your buffs: Mental Shield and Resist Poison are good against some bosses, and Regeneration slightly helps you to conserve your mana on heals and recharges for BtM-ing nukers. Raids may be not the fastest way to get Exp (too much time spent on gathering people and finding bosses), but they give very good SP, and you will need a lot of SP.

Don't forget your melee friends, though, and try to make more of them (especially among Scavengers). You may want to get high PAtk weapon to help them kill the stuff in duo (you will hardly get enough MP to spend your regen time on fighting when you are in larger groups).

You will almost certainly need to solo a large part of your 2-nd class change quests, and you will need a high-PAtk weapon for that. If you are going to do them before your C-grade expertise, 107s are your best friends (make them in Giran, and after the quests done sell them in Dion, for a small bonus to your budget).
It matters half as little when you miss with duals, and you do it twice as much.

The only difference between duals and a claymore is that the claymore has more PAtk, and that it doesn't waste shots on whiffed half-hits like duals do.

107's are certainly workable, but there is no reason to use them over a Claymore, unless you're a dark elf (they look horrible with them) or intend to dance/gladiate with them post 40.
Isn't Claymore more expensive to get?
It also resells for more, and faster.
I leveled an elven oracle with fist weapons/duals (that I lost)/a big staff and finally the claymore. Nowadays I got the speedster sword.

I found that during grouping I prefered the staff that make my sleeps and roots land more often. This has saved me and the groups I was more then a few times. When it was time to do the class change quests, I used the claymore because I needed something to whack my opponents flat with.

Unfortunately, I lost my 107's early in her career. But I loved the way they made me go through opponents with ease. The best part of a dual is that you have two attacks instead of one. Sure you waste ss on 'half'crits. But at least you will hit often and that is a big plus as well when you have little hp, less armor and swing like a girl.
What about duals makes their DPS so hard to understand?

Duals and the claymore...

Duals ...
... hit twice as often, but a little less than twice as hard.
... crit twice as much, for a little less than half damage.
... miss twice as much, for a little less than half the damage loss.

In short, the claymore is simply better, although only marginally. Especially for a healer class, though, which WILL miss a lot,t he wasted SS on the 107s start piling up fast.

A good point. An extra miss with 107s is less likely to switch you into a self-battleheal mode than an extra miss with Claymore, especially if you are grinding Fettered Souls :D
You can argue until you're blue in the face but 107's are much favored by low mystic classes since people could afford them (like me in C1). A windstrike or two and a few smacks of the duals was my preferred set up on two separate characters.

That's my opinion though, I'm not here to ram it up peoples noses.
I also agree with Elliebelly. I used duals on my Cleric from 20-40 & when I ran out of MP I would just run up & kill away with my duals. A dagger is also a good idea if you've got the money for them.
They were definitely the better choice in C1 for pure reasons of realism, I wouldn't dare argue that. I'm just saying they're not anymore now. It's perfectly possible to afford the claymore, and the most convenient part is that you can re-use it for a mystic character as a SoL, or for a dwarf as a glaive, etc. If you use 107s, you're stuck with either keeping them, making crystals, or trying to sell them for a slim profit.

An extra crit on the claymore might save you just as well as a miss might doom you (but I've honestly not once been in such a situation - am I the only one who fights with safety margins?). It balances down to the whole SS, PAtk and money thing: you can always sell top D at a hefty profit, but from looking at the market prices, the same is not the case for 107s: Stores full of Top D gear litter Dion on all the servers I've played, but 107s only seem to get traded around ocasionally.

Of course, people are free to use 107s - it's their own loss, in the end.

PS: I've in C3 and C4 used both a claymore and duals on melee and mystic classes anywhere between level 20 and the late 30ies. I always felt the claymore was better, because the misses are just too many with a mystic, even on green mobs, to shrug off the SS waste completely - unless money doesn't matter, but then you'd be using a claymore anyway, right?
cool nice ideas :) sounds good :p

I personally like the Duals idea since i don't use Bss' when soloing.
When money doesn't matter, which it didn't on my SO, I still used duals. And spammed not only Bsps but SS. I had no problems selling the duals either, they are a good choice for many newbie classes besides mystics.

There is nothing about "save" or "doom".

I don't know about other mystic classes, but safety margins for a soloing Elven Oracle are "MP is higher than 1/3 of the bar". The amount of HP is relevant only if you are expecting severe lags. Your average DPS is what is affected by unplanned heals that you may want to throw if you are out of luck with your Accuracy.

And don't forget that when the mob needs just a half-hit to be finished, you lose your time and your HP when you swing your Claymore.

I see shops in Dion that are apparently in the business of making 107s and selling them for 2.2-2.3 mil (Giran has 5% tax here). They seem to have a good turnout, as they are often sold out.
I guess that's a server based situation then.

Ellie, so why do you choose to go for the duals? Style?
No matter what I say you'll lay out in outline form why I'm so wrong and utterly misguided so I'll just leave it with what I've said which was, I've used duals on two cleric/oracle classes.
