Hey ya, im making a Warlock as alt that would go hand in hand with my friends whos making a Gladiator so were gonna be doing a lot of aoe together and i have a SE out of grp so it should would perfect..

Anyway ive read about the warlock skills and i tought well the other summoners have aoe summons (1st 2nd class summon) so i tought warlocks did aswell, aparently it doesent seem so! :/

So heres my question:

-Does Warlocks get any aoe beside their Poisen Cloud and Firestrike (from Wizzard) - or any aoe summons? (beside the 90% exp)

-Should i simply go Sorc instead if i wanna aoe?
No aoe whatsoever
Sorc is very good for AoE. You need:
Tank, SE and Sorc and can do very well (even w/ the present nerfs - if you get EE buffs for the tank even better). However AoE sleep will be hammered in c5 so i dont think it will work any more.
take it from me , go sorc instead lol
You don't need aoe sleep to aoe...

Just pull 5 mob trains, chain nuke on the sorc, pull, train, do them fast and rapidly.
Well, if you can pull 8-10groups from V rock it's a change. 5 Mobs is not exactly aoe, you risk too much (interrupt/spell fail/stun, whatever) for the reward (sorc aoe is around the sorc).
Excuse me...5 trains ie 5 groups of 5 at vrock for 25 mobs. You don't pull at the rock, you pull out in the middle where you're closer to spawns. Run S pick up 5 grps, return, dead, run north pickup 5 spawns, return, dead. Mobs dont spawn fast enough otherwise. With 25 mobs, the healer can pretty much wait til its over then heal the tank.
sry i understood 5 mobs not 5 groups. Probably paladin or TK can do it w/o sleep, seems like too much hate aura spamming though.
Healing during the battle will transfer too much aggro from the tank. I suppose it's doable w/o sleep but defintely harder.

Neither Warlock nor Gladiator are particularly good at AOE.

If you want to be a summoner than does AOE, make an Elemental Summoner instead of a warlock. Warlocks are good soloers and at higher levels are good support classes for physical damage based parties (melees, archers). Elemental summoners can solo 1 mob at a time, can AOE group mobs, and at higher levels make good support classes for mage-based parties.

If your friend wants to AOE, he should consider a Warlord instead of a gladiator.

You should be aware that in the end-game, characters that don't have ranged attacks or that don't support ranged attackers (i.e. melee characters like the gladiator and even the warlord) are at a great disadvantage.

Who told you warlocks 90% summon get's an aoe? It gets a windstrike spell. It's the pvp.. The 10% has a damage shield that returns dmg I believe ( don't know but think so) the 30% has recharge. No pet of a warlock has aoe. That's elemental 10% that has aoe.. The unicorn merrow that is..

Also phantom summoner soulless has aoe but only works on corpses they have aoe poison and aoe fire but fire only works if you have a nearby corpse.

Gladi have AOE but it sucks [censored].. Warlord aoe 2x better.
Kai, the Warlock 10% summon, has a 1 minute reflect damage skill. Warlocks are solo-ers, not AoE-ers.

Three hates yep. It eats into the mp, but with a mage two hitting the mobs, it's all dead fast. A sorc does fine. Rain, circle, loot. TBH you have to wait long times to loot or you end up wasting exp/hr.

Kai's role in Aoe is not the damage dealer but he is the one you use to collect the mobs to bring to the group, in a open field like the ancient battleground Kai's skills of expertise shine.

His enhanced run speed, combined with his acceptable HP, and damage shield make him an excellent puller for AOE groups, coupled with the new "move to target" button AoE groups using Kai have never been easier.

It eliminates not only the need for a tank but the need for a bishop aswell but with practice of course (sleeper required) You will be just as effiecient if not more than a tank on a stryder and a bishop with greater heal.

Actually the AOE for poison doesn't require a corpse, you can spam it and when they die you can use their corpse for the 2nd AOE spell.
