In game support? No such thing.

Here is a situation. We're raiding Valakas. There is a bug and in case of disconnection you've got teleported in town (Godad). But in this post i'm not discussing this bug, but response of the GM in game for one of the people who got dc and ended in town.

So basically there are no support in game at the moment. The only way to get ANY support is to submit question via support section on www.lineage2.com (http://www.lineage2.com), but this takes several days to resolve/close problem.
LOL nice.. I had something similar happen with Antharas.

Antharas (http://www.elliebelly.net/avatars/Shot00014.jpg)

This was after I lagged over the side of the second bridge to him, one minute I was running in the center of the bridge, the next I was flying over the edge to the bottom.
That's got to be the dumbest thing ive seen to date. If it was a glitch in their game you'd think they would want to know about it atleast and teleport the person back.
You say there was a bug, yet you didn't mention it at all during your petition. If you wanted the GM to teleport you back to the raid perhaps you should have mentioned that it was a gameplay bug rather than your own connection.

There was multiple petitions from different people during that time. None of the people got teleported back.

But still topic is that ingame GMs aren't there to provide any support for players.
GMs can't read minds, and there's no guarantee the same GM ever looked at two of the related petitions. All the GM saw in your case was that you disconnected and wanted a teleport.

As for no support, GMs are still banning bots every day (at least when I petition). I've also known people to have equipment returned when bugs occur, and when a friend lost a wolf due to a bug the GM returned it.

No, they do not provide in game support to players during normal play. They are there to deal with those violating the EULA and help out players when bugs pop up that shouldn't exist.
The phrase refers, I would assume, to not giving out free teleports, items, quest walkthroughs and the like. As always, however, NCSoft prove themselves to be masters of communication.
"we game masters do not provide any in-game support"

Then explain to me, whats the point for them to be there in the first place? GM's are there to give ingame support so you don't need to "logout" to mail them so fast you got trubles...

I guess we FINALY got the truth here. I'm not suprised, as I have never ever got any good 'support' from them, 99% auto responce. Saying that htey can't help and screw yourself tenicaly.
Wow, they really put their foot in their mouth on that one. "We Game Masters do not provide in-game support."
Greetings,

OMG how could you have a GM say that ?

No wonder you people remain nameless.

You know we would make fun of y'all.

Even if you had said bug or glitch (I said glitch in mine even though you can't see it) I'm willing to bet that the out come would have been the same.

The sad thing about it is, they always auto close your petition. WT[923] is up with that ?

Custumer support 101 ending phrase : Can I do anything else for you today sir/madam ?

THEN you use macro 17, Thank you for playing Lineage 2.

EDIT : I coined view 101, witch make me the teacher. Ofter after a support call, people say, yes. You can something else for me. Do you teach courses ?

Yes, yes I do ma'am. Funny story, we had a parent event at our Judo class. So I walk up to my student and say : Hello students. They all chant out : Hello Darkmotion.

Wanting the parents to feel welcome as well, I said : And the parents ?

Before any kid could open its mouth, many of the parents chanted : Hello Darkmotion.
Just a tidbit here....

People kept disconnecting and once they logged back in (usually within 1-2 minutes) they found themselves in the nearest town. ... So, what happened here? Obviously there is a major bug somewhere as the above rule did not apply!

If a player is disconnected or restarts while in battle with valakas, they will be returned to the nearest town even if they re-connect within 30 minutes. This is by design and not considered a bug at this time. The feature note you mentioned specifically refers to a server down, not a player disconnection.

As for a possible crashing issue with valakas, the QA team is investigating now.

wow, so thats the way they intended for it to be? sweet.
thats funny. Cause when you d/c when at baium or antharas you can log back in and still be there. Why should valakas be any different?
Beats me.. I just troll here ;)

Maybe because of the cap on the number of players to enter. This way you can't bypass the cap by having people who entered logout to get more people inside.

Im sure they can work around it. If 200 people are in and someone else comes in, they get ported to town. Shouldnt be hard to make checks like that on the big bosses. It is probably like Antharas also, where once you port in, there is a counter for it to spawn. Once it spawns, no one else can port in.
There's really no GOOD reason for that IMO, other than to piss people seriously off. So you're at his port in spot, you crit error with some map error message, andyou're just flat out for that entire raid. That is complete 923
Re: macro responses from GMs, Ive only ever had one GM respond to me about one of my petitions. His replies were standard stuff until he got to the bit 'is there anything else I can help you with?' to which I replied 'I suppose a date is out of the question?'

lmao...there was silence for about 30 seconds then a 'lol' then more silence. Well broke up the grind for me... :)
ah ,i just wish the gms would have more time to chat with you and me.But why are there regular players for then!

I havent any bugs and other concerns to report to a gm yet, exept the countless 3rd party software users.Auto response. And what is up with the 12 petitions pending all the time?
I have rarely had any problems severe enough to require a GM petition.

When I have, I recieved almost instant attention and support. Case in point, if you go back a few pages you'll see I had a post about an issue recently where I glitched in FoM and died, dropped my Avadon gloves, and couldn't see to release.

The GM ported me back to HV, stuck my gloves in my inventory, and even contacted me via whisper to make sure everything was okay.

The GMs do exist, folks. And they are helpful, most of the time. It's important to remember that they do have rules and codes of conduct to adhere to, lest they get accused of improper behavior or even favoritism.

Until we have a list of those codes of conduct, it's not really fair to bash them about the head with public opinion for not doing their jobs.

However, I do agree that the wording in that petition response could have been a bit better.

I think that Mistryl and Spam needs to send the GMs to a Customer Service seminar. They're not that expensive.

Maline and uNDeRPaNTS_GNoMe both got it spot on. There seems to be some miscommunication in the petition, which I apologize for, which did mean that the GMs in-game respond to emergencies caused by bugs, issues, suspected violations of the User Agreement, etc.

Being teleported back to Goddard when disconnected during a Valakas raid is by design. (If a player is disconnected or restarts while in battle with Antharas, Zaken, Baium, Anakim, and Lilith, the player will not be returned to town if they reconnect within 30 minutes. Valakas is the exception.)
My interactions with GMs have been fine. The game runs so smoothly that it is rare that I need a GM.

I do report 3rd party software a lot and I get the auto responses. IMHO the auto responses are just fine. I would rather that GM time was spent testing the bots than replying to hundreds of player emails...if they sent us custom responses there would be less GM time to test the bots, right?
Well, you guys have to all realize that your not the only ones messaging the GM's. They probably get flooded all the time with people needed help. There are thousands of people on a server, I can garuntee you that the GM's are going to get messaged a lot.

So please keep this in mind before saying that they need to "chat" a bit more.

Can you give us a reason why? To me it sounds like [censored] and you guys are to lazy to fix it.
Yeah and my need for help is just as important as someone elses, using that as an excuse for them to auto close every single petition is bogus.
because the korean dev team says so.

one of the other forum trolls suggested an idea and it sounds pretty accurate

valakas lair has a 200 person limit.....
walk 200 ppl into lair
200 ppl log out
walk another 200 ppl into lair
200 ppl log out
walk another 200 ppl into lair
400 ppl log in
600 ppl kill valakas

obviously not much of a problem in na since we prolly cant get 200 ppl to show up at a raid but i can understand what they were aiming for
lmao, that petition answer is just too funny :)
So what do they do for Antharas then? oh that's right it gets locked out and more people can't just port in. Or Baium, same thing.
WHAT! GMs in game! There are GMs in game?

****.. nobody tells me anything...

So what is the rational behind sending the user back to town? I understand Valakas should be the hardest boss in the game, but if the only way you can raise the difficulty level is by teleporting people to town so that by the end you have over 80 people lost due to dcs after 8 hours of fighting it is stupid. The Bartz attempt to take it down was very very close had it down to 2% health. Too many people were gone however to recover from the 5 back to back aoe attacks he unleashed.
The reasoning is likely that it would apparently be too difficult to program a check for all the toons logged out at the location when seeing whether someone else can still go in without going over the "maximum raid participants".

I imagine it makes a fairly large performance difference between checking all characters and just checking some that you are keeping track of anyway, as they are logged on - but that's only a guess.

Easy, after killing the 4 raid bosses that are required to get into the lair, boot anyone who was in there before you allow the current group. That's just an idea off the top of my head. Regardless, the ingame GM should be able to use his own judgement and realize that players got logged out due to technical errors. Myself I got a crit error. My connection is usually very stable, but I think everyone suffers from one of those every so often.

PS in case someone says they were busy, the petition window showed that there were 13 cases pending.
How would the server know whether you really crashed? A crit error is an unexpected crit. I would assume that to the server, it looks much the same as a client-side connection cut or a power outage.

You can't expect a GM to use his "own judgement" when every time they do, people start stirring up the rumour mill about favouritism. Even when the public opinion is that they never do anything, it is that they're doing that wrong.
Or the game could keep track of how many had entered the lair within a certain time frame?
frankly, if you can get logged back in within 5 minutes at either the anthras or valkalas raids, then i don't think there would be much of a problem. But instantly being booted to town the moment you get DCed/Crit Errored/etc., is just a little bit stupid.
