How about some details for the aussie that was at work :)
Um .. 23 clans attacking (Nation, Oblivion, Infinity, Justica, Defiance), 23 clans defending (Eternity, LagunaBlades) ...
Eternity opted to hunker down in the castle rather than contest the field at the start. Pretty smart since we rolled en masse from Heine and never slowed down. Took to the West side of the field, planted flags ... had a hard time finding space to plant a blasted flag LOL.
Everyone cooperated. Eternity tried their proven, mass and rush from the back and zerg the flags, but there were too many attackers and they were bottlenecked at the back corner. They were never able to mount a solid zerg on the flags and none of the flags took damage that I saw.
It didn't seem like they were able to mass as effectively as they have in the past. Not sure how many actual numbers that Eternity mustered.
Someone got a cannon up and it went to work. None of the defenders got close to it or its dwarf. Those uber dawn mercenaries made a good try and are TOUGH. Completely physical resistant and were red to my lvl 66. Other NPC mercs were dark blue weenies. Basically held off the rushes until the wall went down (eventually).
Eternity did a fantastic and long stand in the open hole in the wall. They held everyone off for quite a while. Then both Oblivion and Nation massed and one split right and one split left and took out the two outer crystals and rolled the walls. After that, their ability to insta-spawn in the courtyard took a beating. Nation was able to control the spawn point and they were locked inside.
Inner doors went down fast. Another very nice stand and knockdown dragout fight by Eternity in the throne room, but with only 1 crystal, they got worn down fairly fast. A few solid rushes got the last crystal killed and then it was just time. Everyone cooperated in the cresting room with about a bazillion (ok 20-ish) clan leaders trying to crest, but no one ganking anyone else. Phoenix (MaxDestroyer) from Oblivion crested first. There was only about 15 minutes left when they crested, so that tells you how long Eternity held with a wall down and repeated rushes at them.
Awesome defense and probably heartbreaking loss for Eternity after a truely great stand. It was 2 solid hours of non-stop (and I mean NON STOP) fighting across a very wide area. It was fun and clean and minimum to no trash talk and just a great fight. I hope Oblivion provides as much entertainment as Eternity has at Innadril. Great honor shown.
Things fell apart then (but not as bad as usual) with Justica(?) knocking down the doors and hitting other flags and rushing in again. Nation followed them killing and clearing off the cresting platform again. Someone in Oblivion shouted that Nation AND Justica were trying to ninja and Oblivion started hitting Nation ... who of course responded. And the normal fog of war descended with various leaders shouting "STOP STOP STOP!" and various players thinking "$#%^ that! he hit me/killed my leader I"m taking him out!" ... And Iownu and company mowing down anyone that moved on the platform because they killed Neg. He's good that way ;) ... you twitch you die.
To paraphrase Siccus ... "#$%^& happens. It was fun."
you know ;) ... the standard. But it only lasted a few minutes at the very very end this time and was ironed out before everyone left.
and oh ... THE LAG! oof! Next time we all get ONE ****ED UNIFIED TAG and kill anyone who doesn't take their title off. I have a fairly decent rig and still had stop-motion hiccups all over.
