Post some of the neat things you do with Macros!

I use Macro's all the time. If Im looking for a pk'er or a certain mob, i hust enter their name in my find macro, then just run around spamming that macro button. I have a body to mind macro that uses B2M 6 times with a delay between each use. At the same time have my buffer heal me every 6 seconds = every 3 B2M's (before he was high enough to regen me)

You can do all kinds of things with Macros:
eval party members
<ul type="square"> 00/evaluate %party1
01/evaluate %party2
...
Telling people your buffing i.e <ul type="square"> 00 #Buffing %target
01 /Might
02 ...
For finding crystals to make ss( I have a ws :)
<ul type="square"> 00/findprivatestore cry
Annoying party members
<ul type="square"> 00 #Take that %target
01 /Hurricane
02 #want some more?

You can also add any regular in game commands liks /sit, /findprivatestore and most any other command fond HERE (http://www.lineage2.com/guide/commands.html) (most of these commands are in the action tab which can be dragged into a macro list item )

My buff buddy macro's:

I use /target %party1 twice at the end of most macros to keep AF on me
(if you wanted him out of party, place your char's name instead of %party1)

F1 Auto-Follow:
<ul type="square"> 00 /target %party1
01 /target %party1

F2 My Hatchling heal:
<ul type="square"> 00 /target hatchling ot the stars (Hatch is used by my main, so %pet wont work)
01 /battleheal
02 /target %party1
03 /target %party1

F3 My Heal:
<ul type="square"> 00 /target %Party1
01 /Greater Heal
03 /target %party1

F4 Root:
<ul type="square"> 00 /target %party1
01 /assist
02 /Dryad Root
03 /target %party1
04 /target %party1

F5 Sleep:
<ul type="square"> 00 /target %party1
01 /assist
02 /Sleep
03 /target %party1
04 /target %party1

F6 Wake Hatchhling: ( I level it in a place where mobs sleep a lot)
<ul type="square"> 00 /target hatchling ot the stars
01 /useshortcut 1 10(Waking Scrolls)
02 /target %party1
03 /target %party1

F7 Group Heal:
<ul type="square"> 00 Greater Group Heal
01 /target %party1
02 /target %party1

F8 Regen Mana:
<ul type="square"> 00 /Recharge
01 /delay 4
...
10 /delay 4
11 /Recharge

F9 Mage Buff:
<ul type="square"> 00 /Empower
01 /Concentration
...
10 /target %party1
11 /target %party1

F10 Waking Scrolls
F11 SpS
F12 Sit/Stand

hum fun macros. lol ok here goes.

on erica with my necro I did:

/useskill cursefear
#fear me biotch
(obiously I only used it in parties for fun)

/useskill silenece
(or w/e you think is funny, for party use, or with "!" for yell to annoy someone)

For my HE, I've not made any macros for him, but I mite.(just sell mecros for spaming in giran)

I newst to use for my BD a while back.

(toook me a minute to remember)
/useskill dance #1 (con)
/useskill Dance #2 (mystic)
/leave party
/target nolerahl
/target nolerahl (the double target is for auto follow, you don't want to do atk key cause if your flaged that makes your BD easy access for someone to kill)

And my main had a macro to invite my BD to party.
/invite "BD name here"

Some people do:
/target randolf (while in giran)
Then hit it again, or just hit atk key; for quick access to WH from the squire of giran.(I've yet to make this macro, but I will when I stop being lazy)

you can try for fishing:
/useF1 for loading a fish shot;
/useskill pumping

/useF1 see above*
/useskill reeling

umm thats about all i can think of but some usefulls ones I know and just a funny one to.

Also macro's very usefull for buffers cause: sometimes you forget what the last buff you did, and you rebuff the same buff wasting MP.
these 2 macros are macros i can't live without.

-Group Macro-

/target %party8
/assist
/useshortcut 3 5 (pet attack)
/delay 10
/target %8
/assist
/useshortcut 3 5 (pet attack)
/delay 10
/useshortcut 3 9 (blessing of queen)

and my Afk Macro *I LOVE this macro*

/useshortcut 3 9 (blessing of queen the cat)
/delay 120
/useshortcut 3 9
/delay 120
/useshortcut 3 9
/delay 120
/useshortcut 3 9
/delay 120
/useshortcut 3 9
/delay 120

Also macro's very usefull for buffers cause: sometimes you forget what the last buff you did, and you rebuff the same buff wasting MP.

Look at your system messages...
I gave up on buffing macros a long time ago. It's way faster to just click on the buffs in the skills window.

Yes, buffing manually is faster because when you use a macro to buff, there is always a short delay between the buffs. Also, while the macro is running you cannot do ANYTHING or the macro will stop. That is very, very annoying, e.g. if somebody asks you something in chat.

And more often than not I just do not want to buff everything I have, maybe we have a bishop in party who never really runs out of mp, so he agrees to buff ww and I do not have to do it. Or we have an EE in party who does ww and wm2. Or whatever.

I tried using buff macros, but the delays between buffs, macros stopping just because I accidentally touched my mouse and that I had to buff manually anyway in 50% of all situations made me delete them again.
I don't dissagreee that they can be annoying.

but they have saved me some time, I do a speed set up on mine, which I'm have to change I think in C5 do to the mana burn.

But karmain and homu/acu is best for buffing parties IMO.

I just get to buffing and with a macro I can set up certian buffs by order of importence.

Sorry OP, didn't meen to derail your thread.

Doh!...
On my WL (b4 I rerolled) I used a 2-h sword for PVP (the DPS is alot better than a pole :/). When I wanted to let off a stun, I would use this macro:

/useshortcut X (switch to polearm)
/useskill thunderstorm
/delay 1
/useshortcut Y (back to 2-h)
/attackforce

Thats also useful for Gladi's who want to use a blunt to stun and then switch back to duals.
On my TH, I have a macro for spamming my specials, which is fun when they all land, not so fun when I blow my MP load and do 0 damage :/

/useskill vicious stance
/useskillforce backstab
/useskillforce deadly blow
/useskillforce mortal blow
/useskill vicious stance
Ok, as long as you guys are talking about macros:

I made some /forceskill macros for PvP. Problem is that they just seem to be slow.

Another issue I ran into is that it doesn't seem like they will continue if I hold the Button down. So instead I have to continually depress them.

What can I add so that they work better?
Well, it seems that I'm probably the only person here that has never used a macro...

/sigh... :o
PvP bar is 100% macro. /force on everything No need to hold control.
What about the skills that are too big for the macros, like Surrender to water?

/forceuseskill Surrender to Water

The last 2 chars wont fit in the macro box.. Any clever ways around this?

Drag Surrender to Water to an unused hotbar. Then, create the macro to reference that hotbar.
I wanted to do that stupidly long quest in forest of the dead on my boxed SE, so i had her in party, and was nuking the mob once, and then using a DOT spell on it, then i would switch to the SE and hit the macro.
/target tesz
/assist
/attack
/delay 10
/target tesz
/target tesz

I thought it was clever ^^

Thanks for the reply! Hmm, but then I can't use force (for pvp), can I?
Oh, I got one.. When I was killing the tigers in Forsaken Plains, and since I'm too lazy to not use auto-shots I would get my SE to wind shackle the shamans so that they would transform..

/target ClarkGable
/assist
/useskill Wind Shackle
/target ClarkGable
/target ClarkGable

LoL when was the last time oyu had to use that &gt;.&gt;

You know if you got the logitech gameing mouse, you can set the side botton as ctrl, and never need to worry about your macros or tring to hold control...just depress the side botton on the mouse....very very handy!

I thnk it's from about 40-79$...I can't remember for sure.

I have one of those and love it, although I use the side button for alt-tab. This way I can run two clients on my PC and switch between them effortlessly.

Thank you young sir. sold.
My logitech wireless has the same feature. Love it love it.
God I'm so Glad I could of ben so helpfull to so many people makes me fell oh well w/e.
My grain of salt...

<font class="small">Code:<hr /><pre>/target mob, player or npc</pre><hr />This one is most usefull when hunting something specific, like :
-A mob scarce or hard to see.
-A player, to know if he is close (be it friend or foe).
-Some npc.

Use once to target, use twice to also run to it and do default action :
-npc : talk.
-clean player : auto-follow.
-mob, flaging player or chaotic player : attack.

So beware if you use it to auto-follow a player : if he flags, goes pk or enters a combat zone, you will be hitting him instead.
This is not a macro problem, auto-follow works the same if you double-click the player in game or in party bar.
As a matter of fact, double-targetting and target+attack are exactly the same thing.

<font class="small">Code:<hr /><pre>/target player
/assist</pre><hr />Just as usefull.
-Not only check if a dangerous player is around (you have it on target shortly), but also know what he is after.
-Assist someone when not in party, or if you want to use keyboard instead of mouse.
-Steal selected mobs from bots. Set to target the bot party leader, activate when they head for the mob you want. (most bots give up on mobs targeted by someone else)

Because I need to save space on shortcut bar, it use it in 3 ways :
-Use : normal assit-target.
-Use and quickly interrupt : just target player.
-Use twice quickly : auto-follow player (but assist-targetting if he has target).

<font class="small">Code:<hr /><pre>/target priest of dawn
/attack</pre><hr />When using 7 signs teleports and the npc takes ages to appear in my client...

<font class="small">Code:<hr /><pre>Assist me on %target !</pre><hr />Handy when party did not see an add, or in PvP-hunting.

<font class="small">Code:<hr /><pre>/loc</pre><hr />When taking advantage of return zones, I spam this one to know when I change zone.

<font class="small">Code:<hr /><pre>/findprivatestore some text
/findprivatestore [ ss]</pre><hr />It colors shops whose title contain the text (not case sensitive).
I don't shop in Giran without this one, I even have severall preset.
The [] is a twist to it to include leading or trailing space. It will find "bla ssD" but not "bssD"

<font class="small">Code:<hr /><pre>/useshortcut 7 1 (weapon in this slot)
/useshortcut 7 2 (shield in this slot)
/target caught flava (your match-your-level fished mob here)
/attack (your combat/debuff/heal actions here)</pre><hr />Don't let a fished mob take you by surprise. One press and all needed is done flawlessly.

<font class="small">Code:<hr /><pre>/target player
/evaluate</pre><hr />When using relog to multi-rec someone, this makes it faster.

But there are drawbacks to macros...

Basically any player action interupts them, even switching to other program or unused keypresses.
Only Alt+FKey (bar selection) and right-mouse clic (camera move) don't.

There is a bug in macro targeting.
If you have no target window while your actions do have a target, press esc to reset targetting.

Macros chain actions after they are completed, and that means the end of coresponding character animation.
Problems :
-When chaining different skills/spells, macros wait more than needed. Skill/Spells can usually be chained faster by hand.
-When chaining the same skill/spell, macros fail by not waiting on the cooldown. /delays must be inserted.

Macros are a basic sequence. No loop, condition, status, sub call or such programming concept.
The most I could get is to use the sit/stand position or presence of target as a status that can interupt or not a macro. But I found nothing usefull with that.
(Any command that can't be done right away interupts the macro)

If a macro line is emptied, all folowing lines are lost when "Saving".
To remove only a line, use one of the following no-operations :
<font class="small">Code:<hr /><pre>/target %target (fails if no target)
(spam local chat with a space ^^)
"Yourname . (avoids spamming local chat)</pre><hr />

By the way, you can't pm target with "%target ... % requires a space before to work.

Basically any player action interupts them, even switching to other program or unused keypresses.
Only Alt+FKey (bar selection) and right-mouse clic (camera move) don't.

Correction, the following don't interupt macros :
-Camera movements (mouse right/center click or keyboard page up/down).
-Alt+key (sortcut bar selection, map, inventory etc).
-Switching to another program (with a clean system :) ).
This is the very first macro i make as soon as i start a new char:

/pickup
/pickup
/pickup
(etc. 11 times)

You can be sure to grab all the lot, and no need to bother to press the key for many times, but just once.
^^
or you could just hold your pickup shortcut key,and it picksup all loot ,you do not need to click clikc lcikc just hold it down :9
i like the recharge macros :)

00 / useskill recharge
01/ delay 2
02 /useskill recharge
03 /delay 2
04 / useskill recharge
05 / delay 2
06 /useskill recharge
07 /delay 2
08 / useskill recharge
09 / delay 2
10 /useskill recharge
11 /sit

this macro make my shilen elder sit and regen mp faster after do 6 rechargers in a row, while i can keep killing monsters , when i need mp again , i change screen , make the SE stand, and press macro button. I normally box a se and an EE, they both have this macro , and my buffer is an ol that with a macro make SE , ol, EE and my mage buffed , so kill mobs no stop ftw
I hate macros.

The only thing I have macros for is town stuff

/target randolf
/attack

and before they added the the findprivatestore button, I used to have macros for all the different mats I tended to need.

and of course basic /target for event creatures, or someone I might be looking for.

Aside from that, I hate their generic green look. Would be nice if you could do your own graphics for them.

And I hate that they are so easy to break. Cant even type while they are going.

As most of us are not rich enough to spam shots I use mine to use a shot before casting. For example, I find on my mage that surrender to fire drops 95% of the time anyway, so why waste shots? Same with BTM (IICR this isn't increased when using shots). I also managed to find a location where I could one shot which made life even easier - bsps/cast/b2m a few turns then bsps/cast/b2m/CLD.

Also, when leveling with my gf (who isn't perfect when it comes to duo-ing) I can automatically do some croud control with my bishop with a simple target gf/assist/(root/trance)/target gf/heal macro.
every macro i use is for my boxed buffer and healer.

on it are 3 macros.

/target main
/useskill battle heal
/autofollow

/target main
/useskill buff1
ect through the buffs
/target me
/useskill buff1
etc through the buffs
/target main
/target main

and a plain old
/target main
/autofollow

for when i loose target due to lag.

really this is nothing special, just an autofollow after every client switch so i can save time.
I have 3 main macros I use:

1. When I am lazy
/target %party1
/assist
/attack
/petattack

2. Getting off my strider
/dismount
/useshortcut blah blah (equip my weapon)
/useshortcut blah blah (shield)

3. Invite EE if she's not in the party (if we need a quick party recall)
/invite (name)

There are others:

/target gatekeeper ziggurat
/target Merchant of Mammon
and
/target gatekeeper ziggurat
/target Blacksmith of Mammon
(These are usable even above the catacombs, no need to swim down, though you need to make a circle around the entrance so you are sure the NPCs below are loaded, which is what the first /target tests. If you can target the gk but not the BS/merch, he's not down there. If you can't target either you need to move to a different location nearby until they load)

Buff my summon (not used much as I have a warcryer):
/useskill Servitor Haste
/useskill Mighty Servitor
/useskill Servitor Physical Shield
/useskill Servitor Magical Shield
I play multiple toons using macros but have difficulty in pvp. I use atkforce command on my assit macros but they will initiate atk then stop. I cannot get my assist atk macro to work for my sps. he targets my target then says inccorect target and he wont nuke unless i hold control. any idea how to make macro for other toons. i use mouse on main pc and hot keys on others. macros work great for mobs but pvp still a problem.
/useskillforce windstrike
not really the sorta thing you want on bar for day to day use though, since it will most likely result in you pkking a friend
/invite bladedancer

"keeps mouse cursor on laptop where the invite button would be"
/useskill p.atk dance
/useskill atk speed dance
/useskill crit dance
/leave
/target "me"
/attack (to auto follow)

forgot the name of the dances atm :P
