Buying one crystal?

I've noticed that when I am selling Crystals (D,C,etc.) sometimes toons come by and buy 1 crystal and only 1. Can anyone enlighten me as to why?

As zuper said, for buystores. I also ocassionally buy a single crystal if I have no crystals left on a summoner and need to travel - the single is enough to call my cheap servitor. :)

Thats exactly what I do. Not just for Crystals but for pretty much everything I want to open a buy shop with.
Crystals, item specific pats, basic mats.... comes out alot cheaper than buying from sell shop, and unfortunatly you need at least 1 to open a buy shop.
