Are you tired of losing all your gear when you get ganked as a red ? Are you in danger of losing your equipped weapon ?
I was roaming around, and could not find any quest guide for the sin eater quest, so I just decided to remedy this and create one myself. Of course, Cantoscav you can use it for the Warcry site and LC can use it also for the Stratics site. You just need to give credit to the Devil.
Ok, here we go !
Repent your sins (Sin Eater quest) :
You start the quest at one of the black judges. There is one black judge in Floran and another one behind the vendors at the southern part of wasteland (2400 adena teleport from Gludin). There is also another black judge, can'T remember where tho.
After speaking to the black judge, he will send you to see Katari. She is located just over the swamp in the Dark elven area. You can use the quest pushpins to easily locate her. Once you speak to her, she will give you the task of brigning back 10 ratman fangs.
You will have to hunt Orc brigands (that will give Orc blood), once you have 2-12 bloods (right after you kill a brigand) you will have a chance to spawn a quest monster ratman. Kill the ratmen to get the fangs. It's pretty easy as these mobs are very low level. A lvl 20 can dispatch them easily.
Once you have the 10 ratman fangs, you return to Katari and she then sends you to Blacksmith Pushkin in Giran. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v436/darkmotion/pushkin.jpg) After you speak to the blacksmith, he asks you to collect the ingrediants to make a penitent's manacle.
Once you have all the mats, return to the blacksmith Pushkin in Giran and he will craft the manacle for you (it's still in your quest inventory tho, so you can't use it yet.
The sin eater is like a pet and is summoned at your current level. It's really crappy at fighting, you'll have to do the fighting for it. It is suggested to summon him and leave him in a safe spot, he will drain all your XP even if you are not in range. Furthermore, having the sin eater out will drain all your XP but you will continue to receive normal drops.
Once you have leveled your sin eater +1 level, return to the black judge and he/she will remove 1-10 PK's from your PK counter. You will lose your sin eater in the process.
So repent your Sins today ! The sin eater is a great hunting buddy, he spams a lot, drains all your XP but leaves you all the drops (so stop de-leveling and just make a sin eater you idiots !).

But he eats quite a lot.
My favorite however: leveling sin eater when you are red. Totally ownz.

Ppl usually use judge at hardins. Her quest is a bit harder (in SoS). But generally once you get item from Pushiking (or just borrow a clanmate's one) you need the closest one - i.e. Hardins.
after some talking in IT you have to kill 10 spiders in SoS (you need last hit). probably the quest is faster to do (unless you meet Orfen in SoS --- so unlikely nowadays, in this case raid the *** out of...).
Like I said borrowing sin eater is the best option (pooling eater :P). Leveling sin eater on the sub is probably the most spread 'exploit' as well.
Well, bsoe still works even equiped w/ fishing pole. :).
I originally read the title as "Repeat your sins !" and since it DM, it made more sense.
SHHHHHHHH ! I've got an interesting subject online.
Ok S, what I'd really like you to tell me about, is sin eater pooling. I've heard about it, but explain it to me like I was a 5 year old. (BTW, 5 star curse for you, my friend).
EDIT : Already rated you a 5 before. Bah, figures.
Have Fun !

EDIT : ROFL moderator8. SirE and I are good enough friends for this kind of [923].
After you have completed the leveling of the sin eater and had turned it in for your PK removal, it turns into a different item that can be stored in your warehouse.
It sounds like he is saying that you can trade it with your friends so that you only need 1 mantacle. Sounds reasonable to me, although I've never tried trading it when it is in item form.

it's the quest item you receive from blacksmith Pushkin in giran -- needs a blacksmith frame and the rest of the mats.
The menacle you use to summon the sin eater. Once you repent your sins you dont really need it unless you become sinful enough.
Although you cant drop the item you can sell it, setup a sell shop for 1a, and ensure a friend buys it... He/She can repent the existing sins and then pool it back or pull it forth to some other clanmate/friend.
It just saves the mats to have your own personal sin eater. Any time you turn in the eater (erasing some PKs) you can feel free to pull the menacle. That's all.
Edit: I think you can freight the item as well (havent tried, though)
after repeting the sin ; the menacle is non-alive form, you must 'extend your hand' and then you receive a summonable sin eater w/ level equal to your own.
After turning in the eater (i.e. he is a level more than you) you can use it again, give to a friend (if the friends extends a hand the eater will become her/his level).
When the eater is in non-alive form you can tarde/exchange it.

Hmmmmm, I see. Thank you. How did you ever get 2 stars out of 15 rates. Are you some kind of a Jerk ?
You look fine to me. Looks like the cool kids have the lower star counts... It's a Scam anyways, wish I could link you, but this gem was erased with the first pruning.
Thanks again for the information. We will be repenting, as the constant murders of "PLAYERS" makes it we have much to repent about...
I know this really cute and intelligent chick at work. Of course, her boyfriend is the horrible big and ugly tattooed guy, and today they were walking their dog.
They walked upon an 8 year old boy, who loved animals and wanted to pet the dog. Can I pet him ? he said...
Of course you can (the dog is friendly, and pretty old). The boyfriend wanting the dog to be docile for the kid to pet it commanded out : "SIT".
Before the dog could sit, the kid was sitting on the ground. The boyfriend helped him back up while saying : Not you, the dog.
I've had my sin eater for abit now...I named him Smelly Meatball. He's my mats farming buddy, he takes all my nasty xp and lets me just farm, farm, farm.
BTW...did I mention, you can NAME them! It's the best part! That and making him spam his ultimate boombastic special (SPAM,SPAM,SPAM) hehe
If you have quite a few PK's on you, level him a few levels up, then go turn him in. A much better chance of getting rid of a majority of the PKs at once.
Three levels can remove as high as 21 PKs from you on a good day.
Had no Idea that the skill doent work anymore, i just pulled out a sineater and remembered the last time i used it was almost 4 years ago. Back then the skill worked and it blew the crap outa stuff. Just couldnt figure out why it wasnt working now.
Sorry for causing such a painful memory to resurface like an old posters name. Was just curios and this name had sin eater in its title thought it would be a good place to ask.
This quest sucks for summoners : o its like no way at all for them to do it unless they just stand around and leach from a party! come on now summoners can pk bots too! o.o

You can do it on your sub or your main, as the PKs apply to the character in general. I do mine on my level 64 BD sub and leech a 5 minute spot in an AOE group my clan usually has going. Usually the sineater levels 3 times in one pull :D
I feel really kinda DUH asking for a better explanation of what this Quest Item/Sin Eater is all about, but frankly I am a bit confused.
It is refering to PK count. What about KARMA? Karma is what you have to get rid of by killing mobs to turn yoursel white again. Why would you ever be concerned about reducing your PK count?
The quest seems to be kinda hard to do if your already Red. Are you supposed to do this quest and get your Sin Eater and Level it before you go red?
What is the best way to use this Quest and the Sin Eater to mitigate your Karma from your PK kills on Bots?
I have already received my manacles from Pushkin in Giran, but I don't want to turn it into the Black Judge until I know more about what it is I am doing here.
I did the quest thinking it was something I should do before I go red again.
The sin eater gets rid of your PK count, not your karma. Last I bothered looking if you had more than 5 PKs you had a high chance of dropping gear if you die while red. So people used the sin eater to keep their PK counts below 5.
How long you think it would take to loose over 18 million karma? Or sineater for over 1300 pk's? Sorry to those noobs who have met me on devianne.... don't take it personal. :)
Karma you gain by killing someone unflagged. You also gain a PK point.
You lose your karma by dying it off or by xping through mobs. As long as you have Karma your name remains Red. When you are red and you have more than 5 PKs, if you die, you can drop any item you have in your inventory, with the exception of items that cannot be dropped (i.e. augmented items, etc etc) and your adena.
You remove PK points by doing the Sineater quest. You want to get rid of them if you have 6 or more because you don't want to drop valuable items.
There are many who have 100s of PKs and take the chance of dropping items when they are Red. There are many others who value their items and regularly do the sineater quest to cleanse the PK count to Zero and go right out and chock up the count again. The choice is up to you.
Also, there are people who have a toon they use strictly for PKing other toons. We have the sweet term of PermaRed for them, because no matter what you do you cannot remove the karma because there is just too much of it.

When you kill an unflagged non-war player you get karma. How much you get depends on how many pk points you have, keeping them low means you get much less karma for 1 kill. Plus keeping them under 5 means you can't drop items on death when you're red.
