I know NCSoft is loathe to give out this type of information, but please seriously consider giving a yes or no answer to the following two questions:
Does the time of day affect drop rates (not of event, but normal items)?
Does the server population affect drop rates (not of event, but normal items)?
This gets easily forgotten in all the event turmoil every time again, but at least for me, this is something I really want to know.
If no official answer is given, I'd be curious to perform some experimentation.
As someone who plays during all the hours of the day, I haven't noticed anything like this. As a PR I tend to return to town every 2 hours or so to resupply, thus I tend to notice what I have in my inventory after each trip. This includes normal drops and quests such as the coin quest and inferium ore one, though it's possible some quests have different rules.
Of course, a much more subtle difference could exist as well that I don't notice during my normal hunting.
I seem to get more nectars or pollens, [censored], hehe during the nighttime than during the day, iono why that is. Could just be me though
It's been confirmed by pretty much everyone (including me) that the pollen drop rates vary greatly depending on the time of day. Specifically the 'peak' server hours are when they drop en masse, while during the day you'll be lucky to get a handful of them during an hour.
Silver coins from the Oel Mahums seem to drop, at least for me, in inverse proportions to the amount of pollen I'm collecting. That is, however, the only time dependant drop rate I've noticed so far.

I honestly don't see the difference. I am on pretty much 15-20 hours a day. Yes I have no life! I come to town every 5% to restock and etc, end up with about 100-115 pollen. I think only one time have I came back with less than that, and that was the first few hours that the event actually started. Maybe I have just been lucky, but I ussualy blow up about 10 large and 20-30 small a day so far.

My experience is the complete opposite. I collected about 120 between 12.00am and 4.00am (GMT +1) and from 9.00-16.00 I added about 40 to that number. I don't know if the drops are area/level dependant but I was fighting green and white mobs on Alligator Island on a lvl 45 alt. My clanmats were in DN (lvl 75 toons) and had the same differences in drop rates.
Just out of interest where have you been hunting? Not the exact spot but are you in a catacomb or other dungeon with multi-HP mobs that might affect drop rates?

Becose in europe the good drop rate is betrween 1am to 9am GMT+1 On server 1 to 8
It's all about what time it is not the amonth of players on as Lionna is more or less Full all the time during this event.
As of right now on hinde I have been killing mobs the past 2 hours and haven't gotten one single pollen. As in zero.
It can be worse, I have seen a friend pick up 50 pollen in two hours during a so called peak time while I playing at the exact moment did not get a single pollen drop. While our killing rate was roughly equal as well and he was hunting greens while i killed whites.
So sue me, I really dont see how to succesfully hunt for the things.
I appreciate all the responses, but I am curious to know about the drop rates of everything except the event items - in all actuality, I'm not too bothered if I don't get the best of an event; but if I'm getting shortchanged on quests and other drops, along with the whole rest of the European population, that's something I would like to know.
Does anyone here have a clue about statistics (other than Kitten)?
I dont know if there is a difference between day and night. But I can tell you from lvl 38-66 I played mostly at night and have not gotten a decent drop besides mats in that time frame. Not 1 single full drop in 28 lvl's.
