New here- Got some questions

Player Questions Started Last reply 17 posts
I've just joined L2 and i've been meesing around with the classes a bit and seeing what their like. I know I don't want to play Orc (I love how they look but just to slow for me) and I don't think I want a spellcaster/healer. Other then that what you suggest I should play as? I may not take your advice but I still would just like to hear some general opinions. I understand this question is asked alot and I'm sorry about that.

Oh and I'm playing on Kain and looking for a Clan the join ^_^
Previous experience in WoW and Ragnarok.
Thanks for even reading this far and I'm hoping for some good input.
Well, tell us what you like to do and we can maybe suggest something?

Do you like doing lots of damage? Does kiting annoy you? Do you like being a 'tank'? How do you feel about support classes? Are you primarily interested in PvE, PvP or a mixture of both?
It's helpful to include the classes that you liked in WoW and Ragnarok as well. That way those of us who've played a few MMO's can give you better advice on which classes you may like.
If I had to choose I'd either go for a high damage dealer or a tank, and I'm not a fan of hybrids I like to be good at what I do. PvP is something a really like alot, but I don't want to be something that groups won't take in. So yea that about it. :p

Classes i've enjoyed are
WoW- Rogue, Paladin
Ragnarok- Crusader, Knight snd Monk
Well, if you want to be really good at PvP, you might try one of the Archer classes or possibly one of the Dagger classes that are getting a boost in C5.
Thanks for the imput I tried the dagger class but I didn't really like how they were set up so I think i'm going to go with Human Knight or maybe Warrior and see what happens from there; what are your thoughts on those class trees?
If you like not dying in PvP, you will have a problem with one of those classes. I personally like tanks, but they don't win very often in PvP.

If you liked your WoW Paladin you might try Swordsinger or Bladedancers.
Monks/Tyrants become very fast with agile movement (Increases Accuracy and Speed while wearing light armor). They're fast runners and fast hitters. Damage per hit is fairly low, but they hit fast, resulting in high damage output. but this means high soulshot consumption = expensive to play. But it's one of the funner classes I've played. I'm considering making one again :)

Yeah, I was thinking Blade Dancer as well.

For the OP:

Blade Dancers are Dark Elves, that are melee fighters. They can do decent damage but also have one of the primary jobs of buffing your party (or just yourself) with these dances.

The biggest melee damage dealers seem to be daggers, Destroyers and Tyrants (both orcs which you said that you didn't like).

I don't mind dying as long as I take some people down with me, and how are Knights in group PvP (sieges)?
I can see that you really want a knight. :) Go for it then, I say!

Well, my thought is that you will be with the character for a very long time. Especially if you want to be competitive in PvP. So you must like it.

In C5 (coming soon... you might even go to the PTS forum to learn about downloading the Test server when the info is made available) Tanks get to use "hate" in PvP. Meaning you can draw the attack of others to you. So, make some healer friends, start throwing the hate and bask in being a meat shield.
Thanks for your input guys and I hope to see you all again sometime! :D
Nooo! Not Kain!!!!
If you're gonna go tank, I'd suggest Shillien Knight, which is the most offensive knight (and least defensive). They get some neat skills and cubics. (Dark elf).
Heh...I kinda changed my mind and ended up going Human Rogue :p
Treasure Hunter and Hawkeye are also both very good :)
