Right now, I'm a level 43 bladedancer and mostly solo grinding in northern death pass (killing the orges/windsus). I know I should get a group/raid or duo, but I'm playing on bartz and there aren't many people around my level to play with. (Most LFG people are in the high 50s/low 60s).
I want to know if there's any other places better than where I am to level. I'm doing OK in northern death pass without using any soulshots or healing pots (trying to save money for my B grade gear).
Kraul Bigbears drop nice stuff and they are right outside of HV. They do stun tho, but they are not social, and nothing is aggro. Orcs are social with each other, but other than that its great.
Alligator Island, as pointed out, is a good choice for melees - cruma tower and marsh are also worth looking into (albeit a bit lonely), and garden of eva starts to get interesting at around that level.
I spent YEARS it seems on alligator--still there with warsmith!
There are two quests to run at same time--one from grocer npc and one from warehouse npc.
Most everything on Alligator Isle is aggro except for Fahrite Lads so be careful blundering into groups of mobs.
They are also high exp mobs so they aren't just going to fall over after a couple hits (though a BD should be okay).
Also, drops are fabulous there (for the level)--els blades, square and brig shield fragments fairly often, etc. Adena drops seem very good too.
GL there...but don't expect it to be a walk in the park at lvl 43. My DA at 48-50 still takes awhile to kill the NOS lads and can't really handle the swamp groups in the north solo (of course, with that stunning patk of 12 that the DA has I don't really expect to kill anything other than keltirs and elpy's solo anyway).
I did great in low 40s in HV killing bugbears that stun...with my cougar pet I coud grind for ages, since as a tank the damage they made was not that big compared to what my cougar healed.
In mid 40s I went to alligator as the rest here on this post
In high 40s I went to Branded....and I finished 50 in forest of mirrors killing low lvl lizards

Late to this discussion....
If you aren't using pots and shots, don't go to AI. Way too many multiple HP mobs there, some with high evasion, like the Nos types. If you are using pots and shots, then camp out in AI, until you are 52. It is the best place to XP in the 40s, if you have pots, shots, or a pocket buffbot.
If you want to make money, sign up for the coin quest, then go hunt the mobs that drop the coins. Even the silver coins sell for around 3K - 10K each depending on the day of the week. The silver drop more frequently than the gold wyvs, which drop more often than the blood meds. Set up afk shops to sell the coins if you don't ever plan to increase your Royal Coin status or get Kali coins = A grade weapon recipes. Surefire money maker. Much better than any of the alligator pelt or tooth quests that you get in Heine.
As for hunting areas, there is always Ivory Tower.
One last thing...you are a BD, which should make groups even for low 50ish ppl much more effective. Don't be put off by joining a group with slightly higher level players. Better to have even a low level BD with Dances of Fire (for crits) and Light (for undead), than nothing at all.
