For what class? if you're doing a nuker the obvious choice is an SE. I myself find an SE to be about the best duo partner for me. On the other hand two of my roommates, a PW and a WC duoed pretty easily from 56 to 75
WC is most versatile, but it takes higher lvls to get buffs, then again if its a 9 person pt u just have to leave party have them invite the wc and hit 1 macro instead of having to buff everyone indivdually.
But again ull need higher lvls, 56 at least to be effective.
SE would be the primary choice if u do nuker pt's melee PT's can use Gsap with the SE, and the SE can recharge u if needed (unless its really low)
Well, I've said it before on many threads...I think people vastly underestimate the EE. But in reality if you are looking for a Buffer to two box it depends on your playstyle and what character you are going to be buffing.
I have one of each and I use different ones for different situations.
Edit: Oh and I know everyone says SE for nuker..but if you have access to Empower go EE for nuker. You can keep going much much longer than with an SE and your other skills are useful if there is a moment where everything goes bad (Party Recall, great heals, higher rez).
I'm doing that now and am very, very happy with it.
Actually the opnly problem i have with EE is they're hard to find. As a PS i really don't lack any offensive capabilities and since i hunt via CH ports i have offensive bufffs for myself taken care of. Defensive buffs don't help me kill faster but they allow me to kill things that would normally kill me first. Also if you use a shield then EE is fantastic, especially in PVP.
EE don't need buff slave, mine still solos fairly well in the mid 60s.
The WC needs to be rather high to be useful.
PP buffs are nice when you are out meleeing, anti-magic buff is nice when in VoS.
SE buffs are quite nice, an EE with VR and EMP does quite well in Forest of the Dead. Or anywhere you can find undead to nuke/mele. VR was quite usefull in Valley of Saints too.
With someone else doing the buffing an EE never runs out of mana when using a bow. Though thats going to get nerfed in C5. ;.;
;_; You talk as if I wouldn't pass my exams honey! <pokes with a stick>
But it really is going to be a buffslave for an EE, nothing more nothing less. :) I don't want to nuke undead primarily, I want to melee - nuking entails too much downtime, and if I wanted an undead nuker, I'd most certainly make a SpS.
I know I don't need a buffslave, I just want one - primarily so I can get parties when I want to. I've given up in advance on EE LFG. Better to EE w/lvl xx [buffslave] LFG.
PS: Tokara, what would I do about my own buffs? :p
And if you're meleeing, do you have any recommendations for armour? I'm a bit torn between doom for extra damage or BW for better casting.
The only healer I ever met who melees solo is CricketsStar (SHE SOLOS FASTER THAN MY BD!!), and she uses focus duals and BW light (before she got A grade).
With a PP doing the buffing, you should have no downtime. Even selfbuffed I could sometimes go for hours before running out of mana. You need to pick on archer/mage mobs for that. A windshackled archer does very little damage and can be slept long before it gets any specials off. Up close the aura burn most mage mobs use doesn't do much against an EE's mdef.
I used BW leather, good pdef and the set bonus includes +15% castspeed. Primary weapon was a +4 SLS*Sword of Limit for the +3 acc. healer need all the acc they can get. Though with PP buffs a focus weapon and shield would be good.
When I took those screenshots, I had a homunkulus with accumen equipped and was buffed with might and shield 1. I'd assume stats for an EE should look about the same.
Once again, that is not the sort of playstyle I am looking into - mostly because of lack of HMG, and flexibility of hunting grounds. If I melee, all I have to avoid are stunners. ;)
When I solo with my EE I use BW Light and a Focus Keshanberk. I'd definatly not go with duals, a shield is important especially if you go after archer mobs.
I wouldn't worry about downtime, although my killspeed is slow (self buffed), I can easily keep myself healed and not run out of mp, unless I make some silly mistakes.
If I had a choice of buffer I'd definatly choose Prophet, it has everything you need, I don't think you'll need VR from an SE. As for the nuking method, definatly a good idea to avoid it, even with an SE and decent m.atk you'll burn through the mp very fast.
considering the EE has multiple shield enhancement buffs i'd agree with the sword/blunt + shield..im ean unless you have really OE'd duals then obviously +10 duals are preferable lol
I intend to nerf my CON into the floor, which is why I will be making a long way around stunners until I'm so high level that I also party off on the side (aka removing melee tats).
As a summoner, I'm well aware of weight ramnifications. I'm going to mess around a bit to see just how much I want to mess up my CON how early on though. ;o
I made a dagger in PTS and everyone kept running out of MP. So I made an EE. It's wearing majestic robe set and the MP regen on it is just crazy. I'm used to the trickle down mp regen from an SE. I think tomorrow I'll leave the dagger and play the EE.
