Ok so i tried this. and what i realized is....if you dont want a dwarf partly cuz u want a dwarf u wont last with it. u dont start making money till laterid say 40+ so to make a dwarf simply becuz u want money...BAD idea. keep farming. id say.
if you make a dwarf, you will have to gear it.....its more more of a long term investment. use the manor if you just want to make some extra cash
um...that's "D W A R F".

The value of an artisan is making shots for your other alt toons until they can make level 6-7 stuff (exception brig helms perhaps) which doesn't occur till 49-55. That's a LONG time.
Dwarf fighters are hard to level (or at least level slowly).
The stuff they craft at low levels isn't worth the materials it consumes (unless it's an item that completes an armor set or you get a top D-weapon recipe later on).
Selling shots is not worth the time and money.
A scavi is good at farming and can make some NICE money. For instance, on my server with animal bone selling at almost 2,500 each, I can spoil a lot of animal bone and make some adena.

There is nothing else magical about dwarf characters. Good hitpoints, can carry a ton, fun with a polearm in cata's!
For me the dwarf is an attitude--that's what makes him fun to play.
He's not a machine for printing money.
It will take effort if you choose to play one to any level past 20 (and incidentally--2 of the worst class change quests in the whole game!). Anyone who finds Toma that many time should get to kill the little snot!
I hate Toma!
ok ill carry one farming :), also what is Manor i am kinda new to the game so this is new to me
You should definately research manor system on this site and other major sites.
Generally....(very generally):
1) you buy seeds from the manor manager npc standing in towns.
2) you buy seeds that correspond to the level of mobs you will kill
3) you buy a 'harvester' (500 adena i believe).
4) you go up to a mob, double click the seed (which sometimes does not 'take'), kill the mob, then double click the harvester--if it was seeded and u harvest you'll get one or two or three 'crops' (blue coda, red cobal, etc).
5) at 9:06 p.m. est (for me) you will go back to the manor manager and fail to sell him back the seeds for roughly 3 weeks.
6) eventually you may get lucky and sell back seeds and you'll get whatever "reward" comes with them....a bunch of "thons", a number of iron ore, leather, or whatever.
7) you sell that stuff for adena.

You have to ANTICIPATE a little what product will sell for a premium, and choose that seed---AT A LEVEL OF MOB U CAN EASILY KILL, BEFORE buying any seeds!

Don't go nuts buying seeds. It takes awhile to plant 200 of them in mobs--a long time to do 500--and an eternity to plant and harvest 1000!

First time, buy low level seeds (50) and a harvester and make sure you can do everything correctly. Then if you hate it or made a mistake you won't be out a lot of adena.

That's a REAL general overview I think. :)

No, its Dorf. GirlyDorf says it is so. :D
Doesn't matter what char you are going to level. If you can, get the best weapon B or A grade MELEE weapon (no bows) you can get your hands on. I prefer blunts & duals. Equip your char with that weapon. Don't fret over the "penalty" you get. So what if you miss 4 times. That one hit you do make...it's all you need. Don't be afraid to try and kill stuff that is red to you. Until you hit level 20, most mobs in the noobie areas do not agro and one hit is all you need to kill them. If you are leveling your first character of L2, then of course, this will not apply to you, unless you have some really nice friends willing to help you out. The nice thing about this, you won't need SS to kill quickly. Which will let you accumulate adena.

QFT!

*ponders how to make this an event *
I can make a decent amount of money making D shots on my dwarf. However, I don't really use him anymore since I found that buying low and selling high on the market is much better for me.

Of course, this is all subject to being able to beat those rascally RCI's. (resource collecting individuals).
