Wish I could help. I'm leveling a Tyrant on my second account...but he's only level 10 at the moment. Give me about 4 weeks and I'll help you write a primer. :)
But then it will be too late.. PTS will be over
So far I'm truing to experiment with the toon, 1 delevel and one level up so far ^^
get some plated leather gaiters, and get a high +++fistblade wtih haste, untill bgrade. -5con+5str.
tyrants were built for speed. they dont have high damage output even on white 1x mobs and spamming ss.

on the pts i play 75 tyrant in full A and all skills, i know a few things u will need to do to get by on your own ...

first thing: if youre going to hunt alone, use the force. force blaster will pull your mob and hit pretty good. doesnt cost a lot of MP, and will help you kill faster.

use totems. get to know what each totem does and a few of them will stand out as being emergency use, or combat use.

i use bear totem pretty well all the time soloing, cause it adds patk and matk and thats really what i need. ogre totem could be used for groups or times when youre raiding and you happen to pull off aggro with your stun (use burning fist cause stunning fist is a load of CR$POLA). and rabbit or wolf totem to run away when times get ugly.

your combat should look something like this if youve got a recharger:
Bear totem
force blaster
burning fist
overhit (you got a couple, use them.)

if youre gonna solo out there DO NOT use fist fury except where necessary.

if youre gonna solo, get focus SA or guidance SA on your fists. rsk evasion works but it aint as great.

solo combat style:
bear or Ogre totem
force blaster
swing swing swing

as always, bring GHP, antidotes, and scrolls etc.

when you get to high levels, punch of doom will help you when youve got a healer.

REMEMBER: use infernal form if youve got it and can spare some mana; use that 30% health skill (forgot name >.<) and keep it on your hotbar, you will be needing it if youre gonna solo.

and relax. best danm skill i ever spent SP on.

i use bear totem pretty well all the time soloing, cause it adds patk and matk and thats really what i need.

What does tyrant needs matack for? And doesnt bear -attack speed? Why not to use puma?

if youre gonna solo, get focus SA or guidance SA on your fists. rsk evasion works but it aint as great

Focus is A grade only, why i need guidance? Fists are basicaly dual blunts with it's high acuracy? Why not get hastle, or risksomething for damage?
ok, yes focus is only a grade, but it is the beter of all the fist SA in my own opinion. you dont need it really, but it helps make you crit often.

guitance makes you miss less. you become more accurate with guidance but only by a marginal difference. you will still miss a lot, but your totems compensate for that.

ok matk tyrant doesnt need, but the patk boost from bear totem is better than just accuracy and evasion boost from puma.

and with the fisy fury toggle skill, you dont NEED haste fist SA, or boost attack speed in a totem, the drawback tho is how much hp the toggle consumes. but again thats for only high levels who will most of the time group with a healer and a buffer and other DD as well.

fists arent really dual blunts. fists are fists. you need high dex to make each swing count.

my tyrant on pts lvl 75 has +5 dex ... so to give you some numbers: with bear totem my attack speed hits around 490 or so which is fairly high. use the toggle, i nab 600 attack speed. haste2 stacking and haste A grade fists, over 1200. its literally insane how fast you can swing, but with low accuracy (no guidance or focus) my swings miss a lot. focus SA suddenly i crit a lot more. throw in bear (boost crit attack) and i crit a LOT.

i would say one is better than the other, but its a matter of preference. so i get the best of both worlds, and use +++Health fists and never solo :p average crit, average patk, average swing speed, and moderate accuracy. it works better than both i guess.
I think a lot of that advice is for C5 only. Granted, I haven't played my tyrant since the beginning of C3. But I'm fairly certain that puma adds attack speed, but lowers p.def.
Bear makes your p.atk higher, but lowers running speed, and possibly evasion also, I can't remember.

Fist Fury is great if you have SE buffs (VR), and even greater if you have haste as well (as long as the mobs don't hit too hard, of course).

But I'm fairly certain that puma adds attack speed, but lowers p.def.

It does adds attack speed, havent looked at the pdef.
