I'm not sure if this was posted yet, but what the hell here it goes.
crushmaster: Is there an official word on how many chronicles are planned for L2?
Hello Crushmaster! Well, I am not sure if you are asking about an actual [expansion named] Chronicle or the expansions for Lineage II. Ill just answer both. Chronicle 5 will be the last [major update named] Chronicle that we will launch. And as long as there are players who enjoy playing our game, we will keep updating Lineage II. I am personally curious about how many expansions Lineage II will have. :)
I'm not sure L2 have any life left!
Don't get me wrong, I love this game but the trust is; chronicles after chronicles is all the same stuff. Nothing to keep you coming back or getting your friends to play the game. I got 5 friends to play this game, they all left to play something ells and ill follow soon. As much as I love the PVP/clan war and all but this game have noting left for long time players.
PETS AND PARTY MASK IS NOT WHAT WE NEED, MAKE THE GAME BETTER!!!
This really piss me off:
"Hello Darkmotion! This feature has not been requested by Korean players. But we dont see any problem adding this system. Well consider it"
Is comments like this that makes you think all love for this game is a waste of time.
New players:
Every new player that comes thru the door get PK, scam or call names. If they do stay and get there 2nd class change the market will crush all there dreams. Please don't post " if they try they make adena" hell no! there no way a normal player can make 100mil for a rec, or 50mil for just weapon. ( hell no )
Well, am not here to trash L2, but in the last couple of weeks I keep read more more an how this game is not for me (This feature has not been requested by Korean players )
I'm not leave just yet, but let see what this C5 and new clan/ally systems is all about.
Chronicle 5 will be the last [major update named] Chronicle that we will launch. "
So ther will not be a lineage 2 Chronicle 6 ...
And as long as there are players who enjoy playing our game, we will keep updating Lineage II.
However if ppl are paying for the game you may see Lineage 2: The rise of Gracia
I think that is what it is. Now that they have added all of Aden and Elmore they might want to conentrate on very specific types of updates. So there might be very specific cities added, including more equipment or quests.
Most likely they feel that calling these "Chronicles" doesn't fit in with what the initially considered a "Chronicle".
1) An extended account in prose or verse of historical events, sometimes including legendary material, presented in chronological order and without authorial interpretation or comment.
2) A detailed narrative record or report.
Chronicles (used with a sing. verb) Abbr. Chr. or Chron. or Ch See table at Bible.
tr.v. chron·i·cled, chron·i·cling, chron·i·cles
To record in or in the form of a historical record
It might seem to them that adding new areas that have nothing to do with the storyline merits a new descriptive term.
Its very possible to make adena. What new player comes in and needs 50-100mil for a rec? Its a mindset of a player that will ruin the game for them. The mindset of have to have top gear ASAP.

Those prices are for A grade and probably S grade too, in B grade it's full wearpons cost that much (GS 25-30m, aoba 40-50m, sov around 50m, dama, cris as well). And I be,live by the time someone hed reached A grade it's not realy a new player any more..
thats what im saying. It just blows my miind that someone could not have saved a few hundred million adena by the time they hit A grade. I carry around 30 mil at least most of the time on my dwarf. Thats all legit money to.

I must say this is the most ridiculous garbage I have ever heard. I dont know anyone who has made "a few hundred million" by the time they hit 61, hell, most us us were barely getting some sort of B grade weapon by then.
I cant think of anyone who plays this game in anything resemling a normal way to have that kind of cash. It wont come through normal gameplay, not by a long shot.
Someone who likes to play the market, which is the extreme minority of players, could pull this perhaps, the average player? ya right.
Even I havent been able to make "a few hundred million" by the time I hit 76, nor have ayone I know.

I have several hundreds of millions of adena besides 2 A sets, weapons, 2 C sets, weapons, a B wep, and 2 stage 11 soul crystals.
So many players get to 75 and you ask them
"so how often do you craft soulshot"
"it takes too long."
"Well how did you craft your gear?"
"Bought it"
"You do know crafting is a key part of this game?"
"I hate crafting. I want my gear ready as soon as I hit grade"

"Umm welcome to L2, enjoy being pathetic"
should note that you can easily go to 78 wearing B grade
[censored] as a nuker you can go to 78 wearing C grade
its the ebayer mentality of ppl that think they need top grade gear +7 the second they hit the next lvl that ruins lineage
How do you define an average player? Whats the hour limit for that? Whats the average playing style? There is plenty of ways to make lots of money, even if you dont possess a credit card ;) Heck, 200mil aint even that much, thats something my market playing would generate in a week if I was still playing and had all my stuff and money with me. And if you now concentrate on the fact that I dont play anymore and think "He got no clue about it, he doesnt play" well then thats your loss there. I have a perfectly good reason for not being ingame and thats called the Army ;)
All it takes is some market studying and a little effort to generate income in this game. Easy income that you make from people who are lazier than you. And once you get started, your wealth will grow first slowly but all the time it will pick up speed and in the end you will have no need for market playing or anything like that since you have all the money you will ever need. It just takes some time and dedication, that's all. Besides, no new player needs 50-100mil for a few months or if they do they are either powerlvled by friends(or others >.>) or play pretty much 24/7 and if they play that much they sure as hell should know the game well enough by then to make some money.
Having a WS helps always ;) Help them and they will help you in return. Give them parties. Sell them mats and one lucky day they will craft your A-grades.
thats what im saying. It just blows my miind that someone could not have saved a few hundred million adena by the time they hit A grade. I carry around 30 mil at least most of the time on my dwarf. Thats all legit money to.
judging you by the date you registered, and your signature (all characters in their 30s) im quite baffled
I saw another guy post who registered in 06 (above me I think) boasting about having hundreds of millions...
To put it bluntly, a legit player will NOT have top gear when they ding, will NOT spam SS/SPS every single shot, and will not carry around 30mil+ on a ALTERNATE charecter. Granted though now it is easier and quicker to level and get a little more adena than it was back in C1/prelude.
All this BS about "playing the market" needs to stop. The only reason you can "play it" is because you OVERPRICE stuff, help **** up the market even more, and sell your junk to the EBAYERS who dont give a care in the world if they drop 3000$ in this game. The economy is on a downward spiral and there is no way out.
Although there are some negatives, and people screwing over everbody else to get rich quick, I still love this game as much as I hate it.
Now let all the " I have 15 different B grade sets and 400mil on a alt" start flaming. And before you object and whine that I am complaing because I lack gear.. well I don't. ( love my warsmith & mats for half price from the clan warehouse ^^)
So we have some choices here..
1. Help ourselves get rich, further increase the insane economy, watch the game die, and just pray for L3 to be better.
OR
2. Regaurdless of the ebayers (which wont seem to leave), help out new players, lower prices ( or whatever idea somebody has to help normalize the economy ) and try to make this game as decent as can be until Lineage 3 comes out.
The reason my characters are in there 30's is because of the extremem amount of time I have put into the market. Some people choose to level more than make money. Some go the way I do. Ill get around to leveling when I have enough adena on my.It makes sense to me. Either have alot of money or alot of levels. I dont think you can have both really.
I used to think "there was no way to legitimately make millions" too.
I had human knight at 26 and warsmith at 40 and no other alts and had finally kept 1.5 million in the warehouse. Knight was in bronze with a gladius btw!!!
Then I started doing events, playing the market, selling EVERYTHING that dropped that I didn't need in overnight afk shops...and it slowly built to 2 million. I remember hitting 5 million in retained adena and thinking I was on top of the world!!!
Once you get a little adena like that, it is SOMETIMES possible to pay attention to the market and get a good deal.
On my server right now Salamander clean sells for 1.5-2 million depending on sellers. Last week I bought 2 sets for 1 million each.
I had 6 eads from raid, enchanted both safely to plus 3 and sold both for 2.6 million each.
That is how you make a little money once you have a little money.
First toon(s)--that was slow sledding.
I have some mixed gear on my alts (no 'set" except brig on my palus knight--and i farmed the helmet pieces and made that--and borrowed c-grade for my DA).
I have pretty good weapons (although my now 32 dark wiz is using a demon fang +4 and not a sol).
I have about 17 million in warehouse and tons of mats (I believe I have 750 animal bone!).
I started in January of 2006. I play 1-3 hours a day when I'm not traveling. I have an afk shop open EVERY night to sell something.
All that being said, I can see how you would have a LOT of adena by 61. My DA stuck at 50 is getting stuff by the ton and running pretty good quests.
My scavi alt makes a lot when I focus on animal bones lately.
The dark wiz (in borrowed sag's rags I might add) gets invited constantly to rbg's and does pretty well with drops and levels cheaply.
I'm not saying an alt can have hundred of millions when main is 61 in A-grade. But I'm no longer as skeptical when folks claim to have lots of adena. I'm learning myself to get more :)
Let me correct this I meant new legit players. Ofcourse if you have been around for 2 years you can spam SS/SPS, etc. and blow up your gear all you want.
Seeding is perfectly fine.
As for selling recipes at such a high price, thats where it gets difficult. S grade is supposed to be end game 75 plus, rare, very few in game. So such a high price for it is good because its not supposed to be had by anybody.. but on the flipside selling it so high just increases the gap between legit and ebayer (again ebayer will buy 5 of those recipes, they don't care about price). So yeah, it gets complicated.
Oh yeah, and having lvl 30 chars is fine. You aren't supposed to be like WoW and go 1 to 60 in 2 weeks.. ~_~
I still have lvl 16 chars that I pk bots with. Go go zweihander and noobie shots!

I was new at 1 time ^_^

well hopefully the average legit player will
A) farm the recs as I did to sell then buy their gear or
B) farm the rec and then craft what they way
Well, since they added all the noobie buffs and exchanging gear, new players should be able to get to D grade no problem.. the main problem is everything that is not in a NPC store or lux shop.
Hopefully NCSoft will make quests just a little bit more rewarding to facilitate decent gear with levels.
Again, selling stuff at high prices will help you get your gear and what not.. but its not going to help drop the economy to what it should be. Adena value should be proportionate to the grade level / drop rate. But, even if you want you can't sell things for the price they are supposed to be even if you wanted. Why sell something for 6mil when you can sell it for 30..
I don't know.. something just needs to be done to drop the insane inflation that new players just say OMG to and quit.
I agree wtih you, I leveled with newbie buffs and all from 1-23 and i saved crappy 170k.
That's with doing quests and being cheap, and running to places, not teleporting. I sometimes feel NCsoft was like this game sucks, let's make the economy insane to promote botters so they can reach our investors' goals.
Like the game has some uber ******ed things in it, teh quest rewards are all but useless,my favorite is heroes of the lost articles or whatever, lvl 42 or 50 quest = 35 adena apiece. That's just amazing. I think they perhaps forgot a 0 or two.
Anyway, if I had control of the game, a person leveling as I did from 1-23 would probably have saved about 500k, I'd lower prices on NG SS to 7 per piece and 15 for ngss, i'd also increase quest rewards and slight adena adjustments on monsters. Furthermore, i'd lower npc prices a bit and raise buyback prices a bit, not too much.
But just enough to get people legitimately started on their way.
Qais. One of my closest friends in the game. Sadly I have to disagree a bit. The thing about this game is everything is a challenge. When you came into the game Tezra was in her early 30's I believe. This is a perfect example of what im saying about making money or making levels. While you are ready to put on A grade I am getting ready to gear a toon in C grade. Pace yourself man. If you cant afford something you have to figure out ways to get the money. It cant always be about being high level. Sometimes you have to stop and work some money for a few weeks. Then get back to leveling. Also Qais you know I will help you with anything. You need some money you know how to find me.

I NEED SOME MONEY $$$$$$$$$$$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111111__ONE____o ne____o__n___e
you on hindemith? I do loans for a needy player. :p But when I give adena to someone i dont know you will normally get a 2 hour lesson on ways to make some adena of your own to. :)

no I don't play on hind. :(
however if they ever do server transfers you better hook me up! I'll sit through a 2 hour lesson for a grade robes! :)
lol I cant afford any a grade right now. maybe a lower a grade weapon. maybe. Eh maybe if they do do server transfers at some point I may be able to afford that by the time you get here. But also just by posting I know how to make adena I may be asked for alot of it when I get home tonight. I should really not comment on threads like these. :p
I appreciate your offer, I have money at the moment, sort of, it's not liquid though, i have a +5tsu*sls to sell, +4 dex -4con to sell, pirate's eye patch, once i sell those that's like 80m in hardcore cash, i also made another investment wiht a friend buying 20% into his +4 dual kesh, so when he resells i get 20% back.
Either way, I agree with what you're saying, I was lucky wiht polarity you know to get that +12 els that i sold and basically at lvl 40 i was worht 30m, i got my C grade and then from lvl 40 to lvl 61, i've accumulated over 100m, it has taken a lot of time from my leveling. I have a clan mate, who doesn't 2 box, he hit 61 in 3 weeks. Then again he had money from before and doesn't believe in sleep.
But in light of your words, I am taking time from leveling, i'm retiring my glad for a bit, while i level up my BH to help me fund his A grade. I commend and respect you greatly tezra, after getting jacked of 50m worth of crap you didn't let it hinder you.
If it happened to me I would have thrown my laptop out teh window and probably suicided my character pking :) then again i'm a complete spaz monkey.
Also, if you are interested, we could do some business together, I give you items to sell for me and you get a commission from it.
For example, I have pirate's eye patch, if you sell it for me, you keep anything over 7.5m. So if you sell for 9m, you get 1.5m.
Another example:
I have +5tsu*sls i need to sell
If you sell between 55-56 you get 1m
If you sell between 56-57 you get 1.2m
If you sell between 57-58 you get 1.4m
If you sell between 58-59 you get 1.6m
If you sell between 59-60 you get 2m
If you sell between 60-63 you get 2.5m
If you sell between 63-65 you get 3m
If you sell between 65+ you get (X - 62m) lol
It's like the time you sold my brig helm, i bought it at 1.8 and you sold it at 2.25m and kept half the profit.
This is up to you, I think you have enough money to fill up all your selling slots though. Also, if you can find me a buyer for my +5tsu*sls, you dont' even have to sell it, i'll give you a commission. Same with pirate's eye patch. Find me buyers and you get a commission.
The more trustworthy people I can find, the more I can expand my money making adventures. I wish i three boxed, i wouldn't have this problem and i wouldn't have to sell things so cheap and waste time trying to sell. I went insane trying to sell my +5tsu*sls considering there are like 30 of them now in giran due to pollen event.
LOVE YOU TEZRA, hugs and kisses, also want to party with my scavvy. You get spoils.
Qais
P.S. I'm not one to ask for items, I may ask clan members for a loan so I can buy the "cheap item" that is very selleable at a more expensive price, but i wouldn't ask clan members for a loan that iI woulnt payback very shortly.
Polarity had to forcefeed me the +12 els before i took it and the 1m in junk he gave sporadically. He basically, said i'm dropping it, you either take it or let the bots take it.
Im always ok with another business venture. Ill talk to ya more about it in game. Just give homiside a pm this evening. We will work it all out. He is 36 if you want to bring your BH along to get some levels I would be happy to help. Talk to ya tonight man.
yes, definitely, basically once i get money, i throw it back in for investments, so we will definitely do business together, I want to get enough money to OE A or B weapons in a manner that is consistent with game theory that will, by probability, result in a guaranteed profit as long as things stay within the bell curve.
Basically, I think if the OE % is 60-70%, there is a way to always make profit while OE, you just need enough money.
Okay, thanks buddy, I'll be on Fatimah and/or perhaps Qais for a ibt, i need to hit MoM before 6pm EST. I need to buy more investment material :)
I saw another guy post who registered in 06 (above me I think) boasting about having hundreds of millions...
what the hell am I doing wrong.. lol
I registered long after I started playing ;) Dont be fooled by the Date.
I also stopped exping for a month to generate the base money that I then used for making even more money, all with the help of manor, my own WS(and friendly higher lvl WSs for all the nifty A-grade recipes ^^ ) and the current economy, which wasnt nearly as bad back then tho. I trafficed in Enchant scrolls, Brez, BSOE and A-gems and also was a big supplier of B-crystals(craft and crush, there's some really cheap items that yield nice crystals.) Did some B/A-grade weapon crafts too, failed most of the A weapons tho but all in all made more profit from them too. I could craft 3 SOMs at the price of 1 so if 2 succeed it was nice profit already.
Anyways, someone was talking about how we should help the economy become better and not just fatten our own wallets... thats a nice idea and all but doesnt work in a competitive game that has a teenage playerbase. Really, everyone wants everything, as fast as they can possibly get, so it's pretty hard to change it by your own actions.
On a side note, I've given items of lesser grades to newbies since I didnt need them anymore myself :)
Here's the more likely situation at A grade, or at least from the people I talk to regularly.
"Well how did you craft your gear?"
"Bought it after failing 9 crafts"
Actually, scratch that. Most of them respond with,
"I failed crafting and I can't afford it."
Yup. That sums it up for me. Pretty much everything I use (armor, weapons, jewelry) I crafted myself, with my Warsmith except for my Majestic jewelry (which I crafted at a private craft shop). I got a bunch of weapons through the blacksmith which I sold or OE (or crystallized) or traded for other equipment. I have been very frugal and managed to amass enough adena / mats to craft A weapons. OMG this has been a nightmare. It is crazy that luck can play such a significant role for the "endgame". Most of my grief was, ironically, self-afflicted as I became somewhat addicted to overenchanting to relieve boredom.
Here is my pathetic record that managed to erase enough wealth that I'm still in B grade armor and don't have an SA yet for my Dasparion staff:
Failed Dasparion staff
Success Dasparion staff (switch to this as main weapon thinking I'll get a blue 11 LOL by raiding Lilith LOL)
Failed Dasparion Staff (make a backup thinking I might OE someday)
Failed Soul Bow (made this since I got enough soul bow staves to craft even though I really wanted an SoM)
This is where luck comes in. Here I am, after four A weapon craft attempts with one "crappy" weapon. Some other player succeeded on all 4 and therefore could keep one, sell the rest and buy a DC armor set or trade for an SoM+3 with SA. Maybe its just me, but it seems crazy to have so much depend on luck. I suppose I could have sold all the mats for all four weapons (instead of attempting to craft) and I could have bought an SoM and still had a fair chunk of adena left over to work on the SA or armor.
Anyway, about a month later, after crafting Majestic jewels, I saved up enough mats to try again.
Success Carnage bow
Now, I'll either sell the Dasparion and Carnage or try to convince someone to trade so I can get an SoM. Then my next effort will be getting an SA. And finally, try to get an A robe set. Who am I kidding anyway? There's no way I'll pay >150M for a DC helmet and the blueprint quest is ridiculous. I'm close to 75, probably get my sub and postpone the A armor for a while. (If the sub quests don't burn me out for good LOL).
So, overall, I'm 2 for 5 at A weapon crafting. I think NCSoft owes me the next A weapon craft and even then I'll just get to 50% success rate! :p
same here I didn't register on here until almost a year after I started playing. I have posted several ways to make adena on these forums. It is easy to make enough adena in this game to get anything you want. The problem is everyone wants everything right away and are not willing to work for it.
You can farm manor, play the market, craft items, OE stuff, and many other things. They all have thier good and bad points. But the simple fact is it can be done.
If you want to grind from 1-75 as fast a possible and always have top grade equipment you will be broke. But if you take the time to work the economy to your favor you can make the adena.
Yes almost everything is totaly over priced and some items are just rediculas. But this is the economy we have. Complaining about it does nothing. Trust me I complained a ton until I finaly took the time to learn how to play the market. I have made over a bil playing the market, but I have also lost alot playing the market (I hate enchanting but it's addicting). I always have 50+mil on me at alll time incase I see a deal to good to pass up.
I am very legit. I have played the game we have never ebayed/botted. I have everything I need at lvl 66. No I dont have a +++++++++++++++ wep at A grade +3 is good enough for me.
The point is you have to play the game the way it is. It's not going to change to be the way you think it should be. Yes there are alot of things I dont like about the game and the economy, but they don't out way what I do like about the game.
So use the search function on here read all the posts you can find about making adena and get started. Just 1 hint the more adena you have the more you can make and the faster you can make it. Took me a month of straight working the economy to get a good bank going but now im never broke and am making adena every day.
