A bladedancer's role is partying. They are excellent party buffers who can deal out some melee damage as well.
For a knight I think that they always should use sword/shield. Why? Their role is not dealing out damage, it is taking damage and surviving it. Thats why he needs a shield.
Ive decided definatly going dark elf, cant decide between knight or bladedancer. To make it simple... whats the bladedancers soloability?
Also, is 1h/shield and 2h pretty balanced (incase decide go knight)

I think a Blade Dancer would out solo a tank, especially if they have buffs, would need more assistance, like a few out of party heals, or some heal pots etc.

pick dd if you want to solo more imo. tanks can't kill very much very quickly and you might find you hate the horrible patk's of the tanks as levels increase.
Palus knight is an easy path--can tank a bit at lower levels and then BD in 40's.
Go DD for dark elf imo.
