problem with moving

I have a problem - I ported to Giran, and it seemed like I have dc, but nothing happened. Ppl around me are OK, but I cant do anything. I cant open my inventory - there is just the sound, but nothing else happens. I can open my char stats, but when I click the skill bar, skills doesnt appear (there is only clear table).

I can type to chat, but it doesnt appear... I can move my camera, but when I clock somewhere, I dont move.

Everything seems like my connection has been broken and Im waiting for the window "You have been disconnected ... etc". But my connection is 100% OK and I can see other ppl running around, talking to me, they can even recommend me ...

I asked my friend to help me, he logged and moved me out of the city. It was OK, until I came back to Giran ... two meters behind guards I am stuck again.

I tried check files, nothing happened. With another char I can move and everythings OK

It happened to me few times on other servers (free), but one game-restart and problems were out

and what about my PC? Athlon XP 2600+, 512 MB RAM, graphic card is good enough ... net 1024/512, no FUP

This is a fairly common problem. Asking a GM to move your toon just a little bit usually fixes it. It is something to do with your comp/graphics/Giran density.

I would suggest boosting your RAM to 1 meg, it is cheap now, and almost anyone can change that card in their comp. I would also set details to 'Lower Details' before porting/SoEing to Giran.

im old school but even i have trouble remembering when computers had 1 meg of ram :P

NOTHING helped. I dont wanna be stuck all the time, I wanna play my char when I paid for it ... any other suggestion? Even the last ****ed free server is better for me now >.<

If you still can type but do not see it yourself, try having a friend come where you are and then type

/target name_of_friend

two times. That way, you will be on auto follow on him. Maybe that fixes it when you move a bit and then relog. We had that yesterday with a clannie - could not move anymore, chat typed would appear for everybody else but NOT for that player herself.

If your friend could move you, but your having troubles. Have you checked that your not having a blocked game port issue?

Hm, if he says he can play with other chars, it cannot be a general network trouble like firewall or router configuration.

But things like "I cant move but I can see everybody else moving" do look a lot like this, yes - as if you still get information from the server, but your mouse clicks do not get sent. Chat usually still works, even though you cannot see what you type yourself (but others can).

Couldn't it be that his computer freezes due to the crowd inside Giran?

He could try to turn his graphics on the lowest setting before entering town.

try this next time you port into Giran. Hit Alt+P to activate min. frame. This will allow ur character to move more freely without much lag caused by population/density. once you are done with you biz in giran and you get outta town or port to another place, hit Alt+P again to return to ur default setting. hope it helps.
