Hello there... 42 blade dancer, first character in L2, so had a couple questions.
a little background:
I started about three weeks ago, and around 90% of my lvling has been solo grinding with about 2 evenings of raiding. Recently, ive been spending my time grinding on Alligator island, working on a couple of the quests from Heine to generate adena for pots or css, although i tend to conserve those as much as possible. Im wearing unenchanted composite armor, and weilding Sword of revolutionx2 duals, enchanted to +2, which i crafted myself (based on what i could afford and already had half of :P) and i see that if i bring it up to +4 i get a +25% hp bonus.
Hp doesnt really seem to be an issue at the moment, with luck and pots, i can survive 3 of the big crocs at once if i do a bad pull, tho it is close.
On to my questions, I have spent a significant amount of time grinding in PN, so assuming dawn wins today, i may have a decent supply of Ancient Adena.
Is there a set of duals i can do an even exchange to, that would give increased crit instead of 25% hp? Would it be better to upgrade the dual SoR's to a higher C duals instead(i know i will lose my enchants on it)? Or would it be more cost effective, and better in the long term survivability to just go with the hp? What might it cost me to upgrade these duals?
And on to my final question, is there anyone with a low to mid 40's character that would like to Duo grind with me, simply for terms of xp/money efficiency? I have run into a few people out here, but id say a good 3/4 of the people i have talked to, or eventually grouped with tend to be ADHD, half brain dead, afk for half an hour without notice, or more interested in picking fights with other group members than in character progression.
For example, i was duoing with a tyrant for a while, then we were both invited into a raid that was going to be in the area. the tyrant then flipped out at another character there who had recently killed on of his alts, and turned into a big trash talking waste of time for the rest of us. During this time, i was able to grind out 20% of a level, while they were busy arguing.
This seems to be a pretty common occurence in my experience, and im used to a bit higher standard from my previous mmo experience, so im looking for a more mature / dedicated circle of people to group with, if anyone is interested, please leave a note here :)
Well i did a quick check on duals for an even exhange but no luck for me but look here (http://www.lineage2.com/Knowledge/item.html) . And what it sounds like you need to join a clan, as a bd most clans will have you. heh ye i have encountered that kind of people who go afk in the middle of a grind too.
Well be careful since when over enchanting stuff they have 33% chance of breaking, though that number for me is closer to 80%, but a clannie oe'd stuff maybe 30 times and 3 broke. And not fun to stand there with just a bunch of c crys.
Pretty much, you can exchance any wep , D-C that has the same crystal count, that means u can switch a top c dagger for a top c 2h sword if it had the same crystal count, duels, u can exchange for others with same rules, u can get ones with different bonus's.
As for grinding, There are a lot of dumb ppl out there dont waste your time with 1/2 the ppl u meet lol. Finding a good grinding partner is hard just like finding the right clan for you, I have failed in both catagories like lots of ppl so just keep looking something will come your way, if u have any questions or need help or just wanna chat pm me whenever
Well, I must admit their are some people that fight each other when they raid. Happened a lot to my SO the past few days, can't make a decent raid without people fighting each other. Then saying "OMG MY MAIN WILL PK YOU ALL!" with a hard-on or w/e.

healers can't solo...so u can always count on me just sitting somewhere in Giran asking anyone to take me :P

Healers can solo. Perhaps not as efficiently as other classes, but it can be done.
I have a friend with a Level 66 Bishop who routinely solos undead in Forest of the Dead, north of Rune.
I have another friend with a 44 EE that actually prefers soloing, out in Dragon Valley.
I'm fairly certain that one, or both of them, would be willing to share their knowledge, if you were so inclined.
Your definately getting towards the point in L2 where you will be wanting to find a clan to join. If your looking for PvP action Avalon and PuppyRawr are the 2 big PvP alliances. There are a lot of people with strong opinions on both of those alliances, I say get to know a few from either side before making a decision. They both have their ups and downs. If your looking for a clan thats not so into the whole server politic scene there are several options around. You can shoot me a PM in game if you like and I can tell you about the clan I am in.
Just to clarify, u can't trade duels for duels at mammon. U can sell them as a shop, and hopefully have enough adena already to then use that+what u have, to buy a higher set. So right now, i'd stick with what u have until u feel u have enough Adena or AA to sell to get higher ones. trying to ++ beyond +3 without a backup is a sure way to begin to hate this game.<Crystals in hand can upset the best of us>
Indeed. Im currently at about 100k AA to bringing my duals up to SoR/ELS combo, with a SA of crit +50. (total cost to me being around 564k AA, +4 ewc) This theoretically lasting me until b-grade.
Any opinions on if this is worth doing, or if i should try and last to 52 on my current dual Sor's (148 patk) or sell my AA (going for 4-5a in giran lately) and start buying crystals to get 2 swords from teh Luxury shop, finding a dual mark (something like this, not sure about details), then upgrading those at BS to a set of b-duals?

Sadly we're probably way too goofy and small for you, lol.
As for your weapon, I don't think its worth it, you risk blowing them up going to +4, so its a very risky proposal to upgrade, better to wait until you get C-grade and try for Tsu*Sam+4 if possible, though its very expensive.
