Give us our time back

Ok so i understand that things come up or large updates need to be worked into the game and servers can be down for a long period of time. What i dont understand is why NCsoft will not reimburse us for our time. For example, I played World Of Warcraft for a few months and every time the server was down for anywhere from 12-24 hours, they would add a day of playing time onto any active accounts. Obviosuly NCsoft is not required to do this but im just curious as to why they wont considering it seems servers have been having a fair amount of issues latly, thats my thoughts anyways peace-
Someone posted in the big thread above that WoW was never down or it only happened once.
NO!

They should add all the downtime to me, I figure a 24 hours compensation from 95,000 accounts, that will give me 2,280,000 hours of free play or around 260 years of free play.

Have a nice day and thank you for playing Lineage 2. :D
God **** it ...... ease up a little it's just a game, right?
Well no matter what it would only be fair to be refunded for the time lost. i think NC is the only company with a mmo that doesnt do so. even hattrick.org does it when there servers are down more then 5 min. and u dont even pay half as much as u do to lineage
wow has had major outages, SWG was worse, eq and eq2 had a few on updates. DDO had a couple major ones.

It happens, when you click accept you acknoledge things may go boom and you'll be unable to play.

compensating is a nice gesture, but not required and turthfully considering most of the online games (including WoW) rare.

Most of the time when outages occur there is no compensation just a sorry for the outage and life goes on.
Read the EULA you click to agree with each time you start the game..... they are not responsible for down-time, and compensation won't be given ;)
Seriously, what good is like 30c compensation for downtime would do you?
If you are that desperate for cash go fish a few quarters from your local fountain.
NCSoft isn't the only company that doesn't reimburse for lost time. Try any online game put out by SOE. Every patch day for EQ was pretty much a whole day without being able to play.

First of all, how many unscheduled outages of this length has L2 seen? I started back on *points at forum reg date* and I have only ever seen these two. Perhaps I've forgotten some because I just don't get worked up over it.

That said, and if my premise is true, then we don't know if they'll compensate us or not. Calm down people. For all we know, they may come out in a few days (after the drama dies down) and say "we'll give you x for compensation of downtime".

I'm not going to cry if they don't however.
hmm issue is not from customer fault but from NC side so they should give us our lost time back . Lineage 2 is not MMO for free and we PAY for it , so lost hours should be added to accounts time imo
well i start to get a bit anger this is the second time in a single week if my cable company is down for 5 mins i scream like i about to die witch is ofcourse a little fair i pay for my cable 45 Euro's so i expect also a good product but i start to loss fate in NCsoft product's a little now lets say i will not join fast a other game of them

Read the EULA you click to agree with each time you start the game..... they are not responsible for down-time, and compensation won't be given

The problem with the EULA is that you have to click ok to play whether you agree or disagree. Now I am sure I can argue that you have been forced to click "ok" under duress.

and does the phone/cable company give you a day's fee back during outages?

Try reading the eula you click through, you accepted the fact there could be outages and refunds/compensation would not be expected or likely given.

Next time try hitting no to the eula if you disagree with those terms.

Negative. You cannot play if you disagree with the EULA.
yes my cable company do that also my electrocity company when i whas few months back 4 hours without power they give a me 40 euro's
I understand that they are not obligated to give us anything and no im not that desperate that a couple dollars is going to kill me. My thought is only that im just loosing my money not that its alot of money but its money lost and i cant play. And as i stated in my orginal post i know NCSOFT DOESNT HAVE TO GIVE US ANYTHING, but im saying it would be nice if they did in a situation like this with back to back "emergency maintences" for extended hours at a time.
I totally agree with you :)

Why cant ppl do anything then complain?
How about telling us a little about all the good, funny, hectic, wild, mad, stunning, etc. situations you have experienced during play?

Actually I think all these complains simply confirms that a lot of ppl really loves this game.... otherways why should ppl else be that upset about a longer down periode ;)

I know for sure I really like this game and despite the b.o.t.s, farmers, exploits, hacks, etc. I will continue playing this game because there is soooo much good content in L2 :)

Ok, that was just my opinion..... flame away if you feel like it, I can take it
it would be very nice of them but i dont think it will happen...and as elro said if you dont agree with the eula then you can not play (if you play then you agree whether you like it or not) but legally as soon as you start playing you agree period....

Negative. You cannot play if you disagree with the EULA.

Laws from state to state vary and some parts of the EULA may not apply to everyone.
I am right there with you. I pay for this. I dont want the money I want the Time back. You dont go out to eat and not get dinner and still pay. You dont go to the movies, not see a movie and still pay. That would be silly. OK we are paying for the time to play. I cant play. Refund!

they put quarters in fountains?

they put quarters in fountains?

You have to be fast when you see a quarter flash before the splash.
From the EULA:

10. INTERRUPTION OF SERVICE

(a) NC Interactive reserves the right to interrupt the Service from time to time on a regularly scheduled basis or otherwise with or without prior notice in order to perform maintenance.

(b) You acknowledge that the Service may be interrupted for reasons beyond the control of NC Interactive, and NC Interactive cannot guarantee that you will be able to access the Service or your Account whenever you may wish to do so. NC Interactive shall not be liable for any interruption of the Service, delay or failure to perform resulting from any causes whatsoever.

(c) NC Interactive shall not be obligated to refund all or any portion of any Account fee by reason of any interruption of the Service by reason of any of the circumstances described in paragraph (a) or (b).

If you clicked the "I Agree" button, which you have if you have played the game, then you have agreed to the above snippet of the EULA. If you didn't agree with it, then you shouldn't have clicked the button. Contrary to what an above poster stated, you were not forced to click the button. If NCSoft reimburses us for this, great! If they don't, then that's just the way it is.

This EULA might not be valid in some states? Ok then, which states and show me the laws that declare this.

Frankly, I'm tired of all the Gimme, Gimme! posts. Remember, they're just doing this to make the game better for us. After all is said and done and we have a game with one less exploit or a potential crash is fixed, or whatever the problem is, good for them.
For everyone that is complaining I hear you and agree but at the same time if it bothers you that much that you can't go a couple of days without L2 then you need a life. Take a break go see a movie or get some freakin excersise.
yo man i got a life thats the thing here, theres those days when its so dam hot outside and you got this urge to sit around and be a loser ( these past 2 days) and the servers have been down most of that time. And for you people posting the whole "EULA STATES THEY DONT NEED TO GIVE US TIME", I KNOW THAT JESUS I SAID IT IN BOTH OF MY POSTS, gg flame on baby nothin better to do right now
/agree
/also agree here
