Thank you to everyone for your patience while the official message board was undergoing maintenance. The official message board has been upgraded. Please let us know in the Site / Forum Issues (http://boards.lineage2.com/postlist.php?Cat=0&Board=site) forum if you are experiencing any problems as a result. Thanks again!
For the future though, whomever is responsible for webnews might want to mention this on the front page to avoid a long time of confusion and frustration for everyone involved.

It was my impression the board was broken into from those weird board emotes i seen the day everything hit the fan. And they just needed to update the board to it's current version
btw... can we get a unnannounced event launched on the official servers .... complete random and uncalled for event..... just to make things interesting and get people back in the game.
I call for a servers wide XP/SP/Adena/Drop rate increase of 3x for 3 days starting friday evening and ending monday evening...
Then drop Valkalas outside of aden and let everyone figure out what to do from there.
Let us all have a moment of silence. SirE died from forum withdrawl today...he will be a member well missed by the community. SirE was a kind man, ugly as sin, but kind...
The funny thing was that I at first thought that there was a problem with my ISP and the network around where I live... There was a terrible thunderstorm just before the first emergency maintnance, and the internet was acting kinda funny - randomly denying access to certain sites... But alas - the problem was far, far bigger than a small scandinavian country without internet.... Lineage was down... *sniff
asgreed it seemed more like you were trying to hide, or didn;t want to listen to all the whines.
I apologize for giving this impression; that wasn't our intent!
If this was not your intent, howcome there was no prior warning? If there is a scheaduled maintainance, you usually post about it in advance under the Development section, right?
And who had the clever idea to still take down the boards when all the game servers are down, I mean if its just a "normal board maintainance"? ;)
We, the players, feel powerless as it is when the game servers are down (since we dont often get more answers than "thanks for understanding, we are fixing blabla"). And when you decide to take down the board to, for just a maintainance, we have no one to ask what is wrong.
Honestly, you can say it wasn't your intent but I don't believe you even one bit. I think you took them down to avoid having to clean up any messes on the boards w/ people yelling and asking what was going on. In fact, I would be more willing to believe that you only changed a few things on the board to look like you upgraded it, just so you could lie to us and say it had nothing to do with the other stuff going down than I would believe that it was a real (i.e. needed or planned) maintainance.

If it was their intent, Mistryl wouldn't have been posting over at Stratics about the official forums being down, how to recover accounts, etc. And in case people forgot, your forum accounts are tied to your game accounts. I think that its ******ed that it was the same login for some people who made accts back in CB/OB, and I voiced my opinion then. But such is life!
And yeah, UBB is decently easy to work with, but not so easy that they could've just made a whole bunch of changes/feature additions without any planning within the couple of hours that the official forums where down.
I'd really appreciate if mods name (aka the bold flashy bright red names) returned back to the bordeaux they were using...
And while the web devs are at it, the new posts per thread appearing like this (2) is plain ugly... Please put them back in white.
Looks like some CSS was forgotten in the process. ;-)
Also I don't like at all the "quick reply" in each thread either since when I hit the "End" key I don't see the end of the topic anymore but a huge (cos of my prefs I aggree) Input box.
It doesn't add anything and slow the surfing process.
0.02... and blunt as usual but with good intentions and a smack on the forehead.

I disagree, I like the new colors, and always hated the "bordeaux" color names. Now they are Red like they are supposed to and how they are on all the other NCsoft Forums.

Yeah..The servers are abruptly pulled down for 'maintenance' and that just HAPPENS to coincide with the boards' 'scheduled maintenance'. Yeah, right! :)
Come on NCSoft, we're not complete twits! Well, not all the time at least...
And who had the clever idea to still take down the boards when all the game servers are down, I mean if its just a "normal board maintainance"?
Actually as stated and shown before, it was actually a very smart idea to do the board maintainance while the servers were down, because while the servers were down and there was work on the account system, the boards would most likely not have functioned anyway (because your accounts are linked to your game accounts, thats why some times during maintainance you can't post on the forum).
So instead of adding days of EXTRA downtime later, they probably decided to do both the downtimes at the same time to save us and them time.
yeah... maintenance at same time as massive problems=conspiracy theories and me being really upset. ><
Boards posting methods were hacked as well (yet noone from NCSoft side says so). There were some forged posts (some hacker made a post that lookd like the one from Mystril). So they upgraded boards engine during maintenance.

That wasn't a ****, that was just someone that made a forum name that looked similar to hers. Christ, people do this every day in game.

I've not stood with a candle next to that "hacker", but screenshot provided made me thinking they missed something essential in authorisation routine for previous boards engine.
Nevertheless, we have downtime for engine upgrade. Urged by the fact of presence of such posts and urged again by the fact of systematic attempts to **** their services in-game.

Dude, it was Mlstryl instead of Mistryl. No hacking necessary. I reported it.
Although I hate to make it look like I'm being defensive, I can only repeat that the boards were down for a necessary maintenance. During the downtime I tried to help by posting on official fan sites and keeping a close eye on L2Blah for posts about any major issues.
Okay, I might be a little defensive, since I don't enjoy insinuations that I am lying. :) Please believe that the maintenance was necessary and we are doing all that we can for players that are currently experiencing problems with their account.

What other forums? I only read this one and blah, but if you post on others during times of crisis, it would be nice to know where to look. :(
Also you could have pmed billy. He would have made an anouncement or something... he's a pretty reasonable guy when you aren't talking game politics.

which fan site boards did you post at? which are good enought that NCSoft may sometimes use in times of need? I'd like to know so that I can check them at as well ^^
i can quick reply in any forum, but i cant click "reply". i get
"It appears that your game account is currently not active. You must have an active game account to log in, post, edit posts, or send private messages. "
