why cant you be like every other known company on the internet and have a simple option like... i duno.. EMAIL ME MY PASSWORD!?
you wouldnt have to answer 2389023 emails, you wouldnt have to call in all your operators (which im sure you didnt), you'd simply have the option automated like any other god ****ed website in the known universe. did you ever stop and think that possibly someone wasnt comfortable putting in their birthday or a real security question for worry that somebody might be able to figure it out? i've used the same pw and account for 2.5 years without a hacker problem because im not an idiot and can take care of my pc. but because YOU all messed something up, now i have to wait for years for an email response or waste more of MY money waiting on hold for some dopey operator. you all continue to make mistake after mistake as if you want to drive this community away. be careful, or you might get your wish.
I, too , wonder why NCSoft would bother with something as private as providing a birth date. Don't they know how potentially dangerous having just that little bit of information can be? Most people, my self included, use a fictitious birth date. Now if only I can remember which date I used for all 3 accounts. LOL
i mean seriously, i could mention somewhere on some l2 site that it's my birthday coming up and all someone would have to do is try about 10 different years on that date and they have my password? now you know why i wouldnt give that information.

I can imagine if they asked for your social security number, DNI, national ID number, etc. But thinking that giving your birthday away is such a big deal sounds like a crock of something that rhymes with....slit. Why make up a fictitious birthday? That just makes NO sense. In fact is sounds shady at best to me.
Sometimes, I wonder if all the "auctioned" accounts were provided with all these information needed to get your password and stuff back, if not I really would love to know if all those "IPLAYLEGIT****ITGIMMEBAKCMYPASSW0RD" posters here, really are that legit...

I'm sure many of the players with concerns are legitimate. However, there are countless who indeed did buy their accounts. Time to chalk up the losses, move on, and start from Level 1 0 Exp and 0 SP again. Perhaps clannies will twink you out and get you back in the game.
I'm seriously having a real hard time believing people created false birthdays and can't rememer questions THEY wrote. You're only born once. When given an option to create a question that will have your password emailed to you...wouldn't it make sense to do something like:
1. Where was I born?
2. What is my mother's maiden name?
3. How many brothers/sisters do I have?
4. What street do I live on?
etc. etc. etc. ad nauseum.
People who chose dumb questions or created fake birthdays (for whatever reason my simple college educated mind can't comprehend) get what they deserve, a hard time. Learn from this experience and don't create crap you can't remember.
i remembered the answer. i just don't remember the question. and this will happen. cause as a person being. you can ask whateverthell you want. it still wouldn't make a difference. the facts are there. somebody is screwed.

ah. i'm reliefed to inform that everything is back as it was and you can log on normally now with your old account names and passwords.
Don't think so, they just did not reset the password on ALL master accounts (they wrote "you may also need to reset your PlayNC master account pw"). So you were lucky.
oh so then maybe you just need to reset your master account. cause i'm logging in with my old account name and password. no problems. while just 2 days ago. i couldn't.

people use fake stuff all the time basically because they dont care and dont think its going to be important. Never did I think a situation like this would come up. I always enter random info for registrations.

Please do not reply to this email or submit another duplicate request as that will only cause further delay. Someone will assist you as soon as possible.
Now is that a good sign or is it bad sign

actually yes in this case it is. He may not have put in valid info, but he also did not just allow their servers to get hacked, he also did not allow thousands of customers data to be comprimised, and he **** sure didn't reset his password to something different without telling himself about it.
I do agree that people should keep up with their info it may be needed but to tell them that this is their fault is just ******ed.

Yes...I'm sure NCSoft just took down their firewalls and said "Come **** us"(insert sarcasm here). This action (resetting info) was made so that your data would NOT be comprimised. Would you prefer that they had not changed the info and these hackers had access to your game/PlayNC accounts?

you forgot the most improtant part... "Play X Banned from Channel"
NCSOFT found that there was a possible security breach into the account system. So if they had taken the time to send out emails to each player with there new password then for all you know your account could have been stripped.
Altough I do agree that in other situations a "Big Red Button" system would be better. By that I mean with the press of a button it would reset all the passwords and send them to all the players emails which are associated with there master account.
Yeah thats what i meant....better wait 2-3 days for account infos *i know it sux...i wait too* but better than loosing ur acc to a hacker.....

crackers do that you give a bad reputation to someone that makes you acount better

when you say unique ID is from the biling when you activeted you game acount or is it somthing else i dou have from lineage2 one unique ID that is what i send in e-mail
