Okay, lets say we have 7 accounts, we don't remember any of the informations, we have cd keys but don't know which is to what account don't remember, no longer have access to the orginal e-mail addresses that go along with it because it's been so long, and don't remember what credit card they were put on now what do we do ncsoft won't give us our password is that fair? I didn't ask for my informations to be changed, it's not my fault you got hacked.
Ok, just got back from two weeks away to find my email bout the password reset. So go to my PlayNC page and try to log in, cant do that, obviously, so go to forgot password....and guess what, internal error when I answer the question so they can be sure its really me
so now what? cos no answer from the support group yet....I am in cold turkey as it is with no L2 for two weeks! arrghgh
This could end up on a massive cancellation of game acounts I got several friends that are actually thinking to cancel the credit card to avoid any further billing from NC

Luckily for me, I remember both account details, but I have 2 friends who will be leaving as they are unable to get back online and the NCsoft website is to quote "less than useless and very unfriendly".
I'd suggest this to NCSoft.
It is NOT our fault the servers were hacked or whatever, so if a player can provide:
Account name,
Character Name(s) and levels, and other "unique" information about at least one toon.
Real Name
Address, postal code,
credit card number used to pay for it for the last year+ (!)
expiry dates, billing address for the account.
email address used on the account.

You 'lost' all your info, meaning it has no value or you didn't care about it and a third party (NC) should pay more attention to your stuff than you do ?
Will you sue the garbage collector for not being able to give you back all the info you trashed ?

KeePass (http://keepass.sourceforge.net/) is an Open Source password management tool where you'll be able to put all your info about your accounts and what not.
The info is encrypted in a DB which can't be accessed without a password and a Hash Key on a drive (say USB... or HD if you don't fear it)
Don't forget to include your birthdate, serials, Play NC account name and PW, L2 accounts and pws, and note your secret question AND its answer. use copy/paste !

Nah, NCSoft screwed it up, not us, so NCSoft, not us, has the job to fix it. Personally, judging from the imminent beta of Archlord and the fact that its forums are swarming with ex-L2ers, this is probably the worst thing that could have happened. C5 release might have kept people from leaving, but this screw-up is not helping. In my alliance, we have dozens of people not able to get in because 1) their birthday is not registering correctly (bizarre) or 2) they can't remember their secret word and they haven't gotten any response from NCSoft. Between support (or lack of it), gameguard, and NCSoft's inept banning practices, this will be my last NCSoft game for sure.

It is their fault, they shouldn't have had to reset the passwords in the first place, is it my fault plaync pw was reset? no yes it is my fault for not remember secret question and it's answer but you are talking about accounts that passwords haven't been changed for 2 yrs. It is not my fault that ncsoft can't keep a secure site.
I paid money for 2 yrs to play the game and have fun 24 months *15.00$ * 7 = 2,520$ I have pumped into this game.

Buffers + shops + main, no one ever groups me so I solo,
I require Se/ee/prophet/bd + my main character just to level, + my crafter for sps/armor that's 6 right there plus other account that I was leveling a bishop and elmental summoner on for fun.
Of course I do.
Legal advice for CCs is 10 years so I keep them all.
As for emails :
I have a strict management for emails and registrations.
And since I keep also a strict trace of every site I register to I don't NEED to reset the password mind you...
And I create mail accounts or aliases specifically to register to sites.
I'll even give you another hint :
When you register to a site, log in your mail management and create an alias for the site.
Have the prefix follow an algorythm like <SERVICE><ALGORYTHM BASE><USER>.
Do the same for the password.
So if you register to L3's boards it may be like :
Account : Miz
email : [email protected]
pw : L3_679482_Miz
679482 and MAIL may be fixed or incremented. It doesn't matter since you write that all in your KeePass.
And it's easy to remember since it's the same for all your pass...
Do the same when you register to casual boards and when you get spam : you know where it comes from ( = who sold the DB...)
and you can change the alias.

Don't expect DDO to be NEARLY as hardcore as L2. I play both games, L2 is my "I need my fix" game, DDO is my "I don't feel like grinding, so I'll do a couple of quests for an hour" casual game. If you try to hardcore DDO like L2, you will be sorely disappointed. Just wanted to give you fair warning if you've never played it before.

Hey, if you move around a lot, that makes it that much more difficult to remember every address you've ever lived at. For some things (years ago) I used my college address, which was basically a PO box in the campus mailroom. I don't even know if I've still got anything with that address written down.

People move around all the time, and forget the address. That does not mean they forget where they live, alot of people can find places by memory, but not by exact address. If I moved over a year ago i'm sure i'd forget my address too, that does not mean I forgot where I lived.
Fact of the matter is NC should not have changed all the passwords. With people playing for 2+ years, they are bound to lose cd keys, all their original information. Not everyone is perfect, keep in mind everyones life is different and some people's may be more stressful, they don't have time to worry about organizing a cd key for a game!
Yes I can get into my accounts, for those who can't, good luck and keep trying, it'll get their soon enough.

Then again, you could be like one of my accounts, my boyfriend's brother bought the account from someone else, then my boyfriend took it over, now, I am paying for the account because he is in Iraq. I do not have ANY way to get that old registration information and all I get is silence from NCsoft. I agree, I should have taken the time to write down the information when I took over the account. But, I also have all the CORRECT information for my own account and it still took the database an hour to accept what I kept telling them was correct!

umm what do I need bots for, I dual box the bd and my main and the rest of the accounts sit on another pc and i lean over and hit 1 button buff with se, 1 button buff with prophet then when i run out of mp i hit 1 button and recharge myself with my ee and my crafter just sits there with a shop open up to create items along and my bishop just sits and leechs around me while i kill mobs. Just because you don't have the money to afford 7 accounts in order to play the way you want in solutiude you don't have to accuse me of botting.
