Look around you man. The idiocy here is 10x what it is over there.
Yea that is something I will have to agree on. All people talk about here is whine whine whine nerf nerf nerf. L2blah had a bit, but there wasn't much because there were not L2 official GMs to complain too. So there would be no point in whining.
L2blah held most of the L2 community, and even tho sometimes it wasn't the best of conversations...many times it was the truth. There they talked about what clans are doing what, who hates who, posted good FRAPS, and above all actually talked about the game and what is going on in it.
I am sure a few blah may come to official, BUT I highly HIGHLY doubt it. Most likely they will create a new site or just go back to [censored] before they come here to do their regular postings.
In a way, I hope L2guru shutting down is just a joke. It isn't good when the #1 fan site for an already going under game decides to stop being a fan site of L2.
Dunno. Maybe he just needed to insult someone to feel like home.
it didn't make sense though... and don't act like you don't insult people every chance you get. i'd bet 90% of your posts are insulting somebody for something... you just don't use profanity like people on blah do.
Running Blah was probably 10 times worse than running an alliance dramawise.
I am actually sad to see it go, while you could say its content was "questionable" at times, L2 really needed a place like that.
People are always welcome to come by Stratics (http://boards.stratics.com/php-bin/lineage2/ubbthreads.php?Cat=), doesn't quite have all the game features and point system as blah, but still very open for most kinds of discussions unless they're rulebreaking, very disruptive or very personal attacks.

What drama would they need to deal with? Everyone says it's the "uncensored" forums so what would there be to take care of? Sit back and watch the flames.
As a member of both communities, I'm sad to see blah go (though chances are this is a temporary thing).
My personal preference is a well moderated board that disallows the excessive profanity and **** that was on blah... but I accepted that community for what it was and was quite able to participate in discussions without resorting to that mode of communication.
I was not the only one.
Perhaps Stratics will become the next place to discuss the things that NCS won't allow here.

stratics is laggy because it is so flashy... blah was great... none of the flashy cool features thart aren't needed and just clutter a site.
Don't get me wrong... I use stratics databases all the time, but forums are no blah. :(

and theres no reason the official boards cant fill this gap. if someone wants to post about who rolled who, use your server forum. they arent that much used as it is. just dont go and get banned for posting pics of the haxxor program used to roll them, or mention people's names. just say "an SK from clan X".

The official boards could never fill this gap
You cant flame
You cant talk about the most pressing game issues such as raid farmers and bots
You cant threaten
You cant even mildly swear
You cannot post images in thread without linking

What ?? L2Blah had **** .. no one told me waaaaaaaaah ... :o

Thats what we have there, even though the straticswide RoC is strict, we use a very light interpretation of it, so its close to blah, but without **** and heavy insult posts.
If Blah is truly closed (which I am really sad to see happen, it did provide awesome information, translations, guides and a solid community), then if anyone wants to work with stratics to expand the forums, then do please pm me on this forum or email me at lordchaos<at>stratics.com
I think L2Blah was good in that it had a wealth of information for skills/classes, that is missing on this site. People would post comments on how to play classes that I thought very interesting to read.
There have actually been people who have decieded not to play L2 after looking around L2Blah. Considering thats where alot of the L2 Community posted, it did in fact throw somewhat of a negative image on the L2 Community as a whole. I'm not saying L2Blah didnt have its good things, though. The unoffical translations were awsome.
well it's up again, it was just going through a software upgrade. boooohooo to all those who wanted it gone, L2Blah wont go down due to an active member base MUCH bigger than the official forums.

I think there was exactly 1 person that posted here that was glad it was down.
