Where's the best place to spoil or hunt for them? I've looked at the drop databases, so I'm down to Forest of Dead or Beast Farm for spoils, but I'm not even sure if it wouldn't be better to straight up go for drops.
Could anyone who has hunted for them before tell me how they did it and how long it took?
Go for the Alpen Buffalo. Spoil is almost 13%. (Drops at 1/400 ish also) Drop rate in FoTD appears to be about 1/300 to 1/400. L67 mob. You could spoil Alpen Kookaburra's or Ressurected Knight's but the spoil rate drops to about 5% then.

It is broken generally into 'pastures.' Im not sure if the pasture you are in means the mobs are different or not. You can buy two types of food from the NPC to feed the baby beasts. If you feed it four times (like the pollen) the baby animal may turn into a 'trained XXX' It may also not 'train' and attack you.
The types of spoils vary with the number of times you fed the animal ( like the Ole Mahum Transcender) Dont spoil the animal until it reaches the stage you wish to kill it at.
Generally, the fourth level gives A grade spoils, so I would think you would get the BW stuff at the third level. Could be wrong tho. However, the animal level you want also spoils Mold Lubricant and Stones of Purity. So, if you are getting those, stick with that level.
