moving image signatures - how do i make one please?

FRAPs or SnagIt your character in action, open in a movie editing program of your choice, copy out frames that look and paste them into GIF maker of your choice.

Realise it probably doesn't look good and go back to static. ^_^

I've used the paint shop pro one before. It's decent and easy to use. Animation shop? Pro? I can't remember the exact name.
