New character question

I have a dworf (19), and I wanted to ask a few questions:
1. Exchange Equipment: Is this just to a certain level (20) or certain expertise?

2. I did the Silver Hammer quest, then upgraded to Dwarven Mace and just recently I upgraded again to Buzdygan (spending 200K). Did make a mistake in upgrading to the Buzdygan?

I've been reading in the forums to stick with the second highest NG weap and then save up for a D. But considering that low level economy is non-existant, I'd figured maybe jumping from 17 p.atk to 31p.atk for 200k would be worth it. I'd like to hear what you guys think.
1. You should be able to upgrade your NG untill level 25. But you can't upgrade to d grade, only top NG.

2. It's not a mistake, if you're going to be using it for a while. I'd say you'll be good untill level 25, with your Budzygan, if you kill green mobs.
Champa, thanks for the info...

So basically 25 is the limit and I should upgrade my other toon's equip before hitting 25 or keep delvling...

Also for hitting 25, would it be possible to earn enough for D grade equip (armor & weap). I know there's a ton of posts regarding making adena, but I guess the sting of being "equipmentially challanged" is left over from when I played before (pre & C1)....

At the moment, I've been doing the dwarf quests over and over and OVER, i've actually thrown up from doing them so many times... But it ok... It's not huge but it is steady....

So basically 25 is limit and should upgrade my other toon's equip. before hitting 25 or keep delvling...

Yes. Not sure if you delevel from 26, you will still be a novice. I doubt it.
On my first toon (a dwarf), I soloed to lvl 27 with a top NG weapon before i could afford a D grade weapon. The only bad thing is that you have to sit more.

L23 is the limit. Once you hit L24 you lose the newbie buffs and can never get them back. I think L23 is the last level that is, (It was the level in the dialog -1 when I last checked.) but it might be 24...just so long as you don't go over that last level you can delevel and keep the newbie benefits.

As for your Dwarf...the dwarf town quests really don't pay very well at all! In fact very few quests are worth doing at all really for more than paying for your escape scrolls!

If you have any mats, saving them to sell in Giran is a good way to make cash. Always check the market before selling. Animal Bone, Varnish, Iron Ore, Ori Ore, Crafted Leather, Coal and Charcoal all go for at least x2 to x10 their 'base' value. (2x what NPC's offer.) Even Thread, Stem and Suede will eventually sell most of the time. (For the Accessory quest people if nothing else!)

For your NG dwarf, I'd work the manor if Dion, Oren or Gluido is setup decently on your server. You can make some good money even on a non-overworked seed. You can use your regular adena drops to pay for your NG SS's and still make good money that way too.

In fact I keep a char in the L20 - L28 range just so I can manor for cash to pay for my high level chars equipment and other expenditures. If necessary you may want to delevel a bit to get enough for all your D grade needs, but you shouldn't have to do it too much. I don't recommend getting anything less than the top D you can buy in Giran though, this may mean spending a bit more time in NG but it's less time/money wasted in the long run.

Otherwise...it took me deleveling 3 times from L27 down to L12 in C1 to make enough cash for my D grade. And that was when you could keep your Grade expertise even when you deleveled!
Again thanks for the input... The honest truth is since I played way back when Cruma Tower was the mecca for leveling and getting drops, I didn't understand the game all that well...

L2 was my first MMORPG ever, before that I was a CS fanatic... But because of a couple of the guys in my clan were so hot to trot for L2, I thought what the hey.

Anyway, I played what I was most interested, which was a SH level his lazy *** to 36, but retired him because I couldn't get any groups and basically was having a tough time getting him geared and such...

I then rerolled a Prophet & level that little girl to 49, which was a little better since I got into a clan but I found myself falling asleep at the keyboard.

Well now that I just returned, I'm a ltitle wiser and smarter and that's why I rolled a dwarf. Because the game ain't fun when your outside of towns begging for money or turning buff tricks...

With regards to the mats, definitely looks like a way to make some dough and I still need to figure out the manor system. I feel a little out sync with the NA servers since I'm in Asia, but I guess I'll figure it out once I get out of Dorf Land....
I was sure you were novice till 25.. Don't you get ww as the last buff at 25?
