I have a 44 paladin. He is equiped in Full-Plate and a Yaksa Health SA. I am curious with c5 so close and paladins getting so much love what tats (dyes) do i want now. I heard a lot of talk bout +con not the way to go especially in c5. Heard str +5 dex +4 tats but what b/a grade armor and weapon(s) etc.
depends what you want to do. 40-52 would probably be best to get a set of duals and increase your str and maybe your dex. After 52-60 you will be grouping a lot more and have to use your tank skills and roles a lot more in groups.
If you raid a lot, just leave things as they are. If you solo or duo a lot maximize your damage with crit duals and probably plated leather or something.
40-52 is a lot of soloing and small party stuff so I would just go for max output.
won't be any trouble getting to 52...so my question is for soloing and occassional partying how should i set up my char ( i have a out of party SE for buffs etc)
Plated Leather (+4 str)
Tats Now, tats are insanely expensive now. I suggest getting +4 str -5 con and maybe +2/4 dex -3/5 con from the giran dye shop. Since you will remove these at higher levels no need spending an extra 6 million per 10 dyes for something that you wont be using forever anyway.
+crit duals (shashmir*raid, spirit*raid etc)
Why leather armor? Sure he will kill faster but Paladins get a big boost from wearing heavy armor due to masteries. Personally I prefer a focused sword for hunting, with SE buffs those crits will be big and if you pull a couple of mobs you can still shield stun the extra mob. Guess it depends on whether your VR can keep up with the damage you are taking.... what level is the SE?
Ok, offense is everything. If you have an SE that can heal you ever now and again and you have VR duals are going to be the best.
For one, they have crit SA which gives you about 25-30% more crits which do a lot more damage than normal attacks. Duals also have higher patk and they swing twice per hit cycle. This means you get twice as many chances to get a crit on a mob.
Blunts are a low crit rate weapon and quite frankly one of the worst pve damage dealing weapons in the game quite honestly. Health SA is only for people that tank big groups or raids. If you arent doing this you are just wasting an SA that could be used for something else.
Also, sure you dont get light armor masteries but who cares when you have VR and heals when necessary? He isnt tanking anything he is solo'ing and duo'ing and fullplate isnt necessary at all.
Start acting and equipping like a tank when you are ready to be a tank. Until then, focus on maximum damage output.

the ONLY thing u need to change is get an SLS with focus.
as far as tattoos go, you DO NOT want to gimp your DEX. best setup i have ever seen is +2dex-2str +3dex-3con.
reason: dex affects your evasion, runsnspeed, block rate among other things (accuracy, crit rate etc) and for solo pve, thats the better way to go.
for raiding thats a different story: if youre not the Main tank, you can get duals and raid as a DD. if however youre not into raiding, you may not want to get duals for pve. your shield defence just won't be kicking in LOL.
and as to light armor ... show me an effective tank in light armor and duals and i will show you some oceanfront property on the moon.
that could honestly be the worst serious suggestion i have ever heard.
EDIT: forgot to answer part 2 of the question:
in B and A grades you will want Doom heavy, and Dark Crystal.
as to weapons thats again looking to the AOBA (art of battle axe) or Deadmans Glory, and eventually Elysian axe.
SA is again your choice but focus for pve, not health.
haha lmao, ok whatever you say man. If you want to listen to this guy and duo 40-52 as a primary dd non tank and wear full plate, be my guest. If you want 4 extra strength without any real downfalls then go ahead and get the plated leather.
Also, you can get an sls with focus if you want to do less damage over time. That is also your choice. I dont care what you guys believe, I am just giving the best advice possible where you are using tank assumptions and restricing his possibilities to accepted norms.
dear god you are dense. My whole point was that he said he wasnt going to raid much or group much from 40-52 so the whole point is to make a dd build until he gets in his 50s when he starts tanking, unbelieavable!

those are both of flenop's posts. i dont see anywhere where he said he won't be raiding or grouping. he does afterall have OOP SE.
please correct me if i am wrong to assume an OOP SE is much higher level and can prove to ba a major asset in any raid. clearly he has not expressed a desire to solo.
well, soloing and occasionally partying really notates that he will be solo'ing most of the time. Dont know what to tell you. If you are going to be a tank you need to tank all the way, health sa and all. If you are going to solo and want damage, dont go half *** go all out.
