oi buthurt a bit
dang even mentioning mage wpns gets ppl all whiney
Anyway
I woul dsay that the other mage wpns of S grade level will be realeased later, and that by releasing a 1h mage blunt first they did thier best to make all mystic classes happy
we get acumen
orc's can stun
and we all can carry shields
astetics is the main reason i would get a sword on a mage....lets just say SOM pwns BoMT anyday :), so yea, i think there should be an S sword, doesn't have to have diff stats than lets say the arcana mace, but it would hopefuly look cooler

yeah, I agree... won't be getting an S weapon until they give us a sword or a better looking mace. Can't stand how the Arcana mace looks.
omg sov, you used my refferance...Gandalf....i happen to own gandalfs sword, is staff? never, just his sword, and omg is so sweet on my wall, and for the record, there are many fantasy movies where wizards use swords, ad it also makes sense to use a magical sword, if the enemy makes it to close quarters would you rather have a stupid blunt or a sharp and pointy sword?, i'll take the sword for defense and astetics.
Why do mages need swords? Because the blunts and staffs in this game mainly look horrible. Either the staff heads are too big, the staff is too long, or there is some weird thing going on between the staff head and the rest of it. Sure there are some excellent staffs such as the crystal staff, but overall they are few and far between, or nonexistent for S grade.
I would welcome something that reminds more of a "wand" than blunt or mace. It does not need to be so fairy-story like short stick with sparkling star on it's end, skulls would fit better.
All of this is fiction. Mages also use wands but there aren't any here. And why not have them use Orbs while we are at it.
The items in question just serves as a focus. It can be a sword because a sword is symbolic.
If you look in the wheel of time series, there are many items in the shapes of all sorts of things that help focus and amplify the users power.
In the end it really doesn't matter EXCEPT if one thinks that mages shouldn't use shields. That is really the question.
To be honest, I don't think they should. But... the game allows it so I do.
Hard to convince someone who is trying to kill you that they should go easy because I believe that mages shouldn't use shields.
The more I think of it the more I have to say that this game seems to be a "mish-mash" of stuff thrown together. Dwarves that don't match when you look at the sexes, orcs that aren't really orcs and should be called something else (which is fine by me because they are "better" than orcs in my opinion), Mages using shields, Humans that run like they have a pole up their butt but Dark elves that run on an angle.
Maybe the Lineage 3 developers will have grown a bit and realize that a more cohesive world is more interesting.
