Ok so its 12 oclock here in California. and i dont know when the server comes back up. can someone help me out. lol. it sed two hours so does that mean 1:30 or 2:30?
CST is also incorrect if your on CST but without Daylight Savings Time.
It's 1:45pm here right now, meaning CST with daylight savings time, it's actually 2:45pm.
This is where GMT would REALLY help everyone out reguardless of place. GMT is universal, i'm GMT -6 without DST. Everyone, EVERYONE can figure it out from there what my time is using there own time and finding there own GMT w/ or w/o DST and using it as a reference.
CST/PST/EST or whatever other combination doesn't make any sense to the other 90% of the world population that don't reside on NA, and the 5% in NA still don't get it.
For anyone with Windows who wants to figure out their time zone...
Double click on the time in the lower right hand corner. You should see a calendar and the time, there is also a 'time zone' tab. Click on that tab. That will show you what time zone you are in (assuming it's correctly set up) and what you are in relation to GMT. US Central time (which is what they announce times in) is -6 GMT.
Thanks for the tip, Jute :) Now I know I haven't lost my mind :p
I AM in the same time zone as Spain (it says (GMT+01:00) Copenhagen, Stockholm, Madrid, Paris).
I absolutely HATE all this time zone stuff. I can never figure out what difference there is between my time zone and one of the US timezones. Not only that there is always confusion about daylight saving time (I am in GMT+1 timezone, but do I have to take daylight saving now into consideration when comparing to a US time zone or not? Some US timezones do adjust for daylight saving, others don't, but I never know which ones), for some weird reason some of the US timezones change name when they use daylight saving. Why don't we all use GMT -/+ timezones? Some kind of worldwide standard has to be used.
And when I go to one of the "timezone conversion" websites, they most often do not even USE the abbreviations like CST,PST and so on, they only use stuff like "US/New York" which does not help me much, since I don't know which one I have to choose...
I dont want further confusion, but GMT was replaced by UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) on 1 January 1972. :p
Go to http://www.wikipedia.com, select ur language and search for UTC. For u military guys, UTC is Zulu Time. Lineage servers run on CST (Central Standard Time), in summer CDT (Central Daylight Time), thats UTC -06:00 (CST) / UTC -05:00 (CDT).
It would also be helpfull if 24h-format were used, i got always wrong on 12am and 12pm.
