In response to this (http://boards.lineage2.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=pts&Number=671152&page=0& fpart=5) thread, I have started a little experiment. I have set out to prove if my views on mana efficiency as an Elven Mystic/Wizard/Spellsinger are correct, or if they aren't. If incorrect, I am also out to find better ways of being mana efficient.

In order to replicate my past experience with this class, I am going to use only the gear I had on the C4 PTS, up until the boost. This gear was: A Devotion Set, the top, bottom, and helmet. I ended up with mid-D gloves/boots, the ones you can buy from Dion. My weapon, through all of my D grade, was a Branch of Life, the lowest D one hander. However, since the PTS was boosted soon after I reached level 36, I will be upgrading my equipment slightly at this point. I plan on moving up to a mid-D one hander. I may also choose to get an Elven Mithril Set.

At C grade, I will be upgrading to Demon Robes and a Homunkulus with Acumen.

To also help preserve the experiment, I will doing this on a different server than my home server. I have chosen Devianne. My character name is "Eldaran". If possible, I would like to be clanned/friendlisted so someone other than myself can vouch for what I find and do. Also, if possible, I may need help in aquiring my C grade.

When C5 rolls around, I will also be testing the effect of the "sleef nerf" on Elves.

I am dead set on proving myself right or wrong. And I will post the results I find, even if I am wrong. I will be keeping a daily journal of my downtimes, deaths, levels, and gear I have aquired. Wish me luck!

(Also, I think I may be a be conceited if I am this set upon something like this >.>)

Im confused about what your trying to prove....
In the other thread, you stated you run out of mp slower if you kill slower and walk. Is that all your testing?

In an SE/SpS duo, there are only a few things you can do to get the most XP as possible.
1. > Use a damage set (with mp regen if possible)
2. > Only kill mobs you can 2 shot
3. > Walk
4. > Use Mana Regeneration buff and spend as much time as possible sitting.
5. > Find a spot where your SE can sit rather than walk along behind you.

Mid 60s+ you regen faster with Mana Regen sitting than you do standing (tho you regen faster standing without the buff than you do sitting without it.. dunno why...). Hence all the time you spend standing waiting to nuke again is wasted MP (tho not much). Your best spamming all your mp and your SEs, and then sitting if your always using Mana Regen. Killing slower does nothing other than make you stand more often.. doesnt increase your XP per hour.

This is pretty much all common knowledge... look around the boards for SpS related threads.

It's rare,but possible. I have not partied or seen an SPS level with out a SE bot.
Thats like a HE or melee class leveling without a bot buff Prophet. :eek:

As I said it's rare, BUT possible. Majority of the Prophets out there are buff bots.

My Sps is also ironman... been so since Prelude.
(or duoed with real Support classes)

Sps will nuke 40 times-ish and kill 20ish 2-hit mobs on a full bar 6x-7x, then you will sit for 10 minutes and repeat.

Bring an SE friend or a good book. You will spend more time sitting than killing unless you picked the wrong area.

My PTS Paladin levels faster self-buffed + haste pot.

(acumen pot does not help a Sps kill longer, just makes the killing part faster, the downtime is still the same.)

Note, that NOTHING will change this... this is a mathematical limitation due to mana and mana regen.

Manaless 7x SPellsingers must wait 30 seconds (standing or sitting) to gather enough mana to kill ONE two-hit mob.... even counting their mana regen adena-eating spell.

Try running a Sorc with no buffbot!

Technically yes, I guess. But practically, only if it would help you kill a mob that gives more exp than before, while still only needing two hits... if the damage difference with the empower SA isn't big enough to cover the gap to the next higher mob, there probably isn't anything to gain with it, right?

Most likely an empower weapon wouldn't change anything; it would have to change a 3 hit to a 2 hit or a 2 hit to a 1 hit. Killing faster is faster overall because you have a larger percentage of the total time sitting. It is very boring and not much better (probably hard to measure even) but it does help a little bit.

ps. The matk of the empower SA is not multiplied by buffs or bsps so has very little effect on damage done when using either.

But it would allow you to kill those few extra mobs that required 2,1 hits without Empower.

I just feel it's a little odd to try and minmax your castspeed when you feel mana consumption is a problem.

If more people were like you & duoed with real support classes, then I think we would have more live buffers. :)

I hate you for saying that, im a 56 prophet thats live, and even though ive rerolled like 20 times, i still play him as my main :)

I love the support classes! If you can duo with one that is the best, but a buff bot or mana charger will do just fine.
