Ok...soo they are everywhere. And I always have trouble killing them u can attack them outright, but that never works. Ive tried Traing them doesnt work either, for me atleast. Soo this thread is simply a "how to" kill bots. What do u do when u see a bot squad? HEy maybe even mention ne good drops you have gotten from killing them.
Training bots works by aggroing a bunch of mobs, and then pulling them close to a mob that the bots are hitting. "Your" mobs will attack the bots as they will social with the mob they are hitting. Make sure to keep running in circles around them and not standing still as it minimizes the damage you take while being attacked.
Some classes have the luxury of Feign Death or Confusion which makes it a lot easier for obvious reasons. The monsters still need an incentive (being aggro or social) to attack the bots even with these skills.
You can divide bots into 2 categories: The "live" ones that are attended (but that doesn't change the fact that they're running a bot program), and the afk ones that are completely automated. One person usually runs several bots. It's not unusual for one guy to run several full 9-character teams.
The attended ones are very very hard to kill as they can just log when they see you coming around the corner with a train, or just run to the gatekeeper and teleport out of the catacomb. It's still possible to get some of their minions who get stuck on corners and pillars, assuming they don't forcelog right away.
The afk ones can still forcelog. The bot programs can have criteria such as "when out of mp=log", "when a chaotic player is targetable=log", "when hp is below 50%=log" which can still make it hard.
PK'ing them is usually a waste as it hurts you more than them. They usually don't care about xp, just loot, and you can't drop items if you're pk'ed while white or purple, even with 50 pk's. Stunning their healer is your best bet.
You *can* try to just hurt them and try making them die to a mob or suck the healer's mana dry, but this is really hard to get right considering CP and not being able to see their stats.
are you killing bots in necros? by yourself, it is difficult unless you are A grade killing them in say Apostate or Branded. some bots dont like being bothered and may attack you. Also, sometimes they have overpowered bots, and getting them killed with mobs is difficult. If you have a stun attack, try stunning the healer. you can pull mobs to the bots one or two at a time, and keep stunning the healer as it stands up to heal. It can waste a lot of time, and if you are by yourself, the bots will almost always grab the loot before you. The best way to get loot is to attack bots 20 levels lower than you, cause you can pull enough mobs to wipe out the entire party, and you wont get hurt. but the loot is not that good. To me, its mostly a waste of time, unless they are in the room you want to use for a couple of weeks.
All bots can die just takes a few tries to see how they bot is set up to react to certain events. Few days back a train that had 18 people working together(all bots der) in OB required about 50+ mobs at once to kill them all.
