Why are human daggers "treasure hunters" and Dwarves, bounty hunters? shouldnt it be the other way around?? i mean dont dwarves hunt treasure? and arent bounty hunters kinda like assasins. (i.e Dog the bounty hunter) Seems pretty obvious to me.
When you think about it, BHs get loot for killing mobs... so they do get a bounty everytime a mob dies and spoil lands, making them a bounty hunter. I guess in this case, the emphasis is on the "bounty" rather than the "hunter" :p
On the other hand, THs run around looking for treasure chests (hahahahaha... well... they dont but they could if they were bored...), so they're treasure hunters. They dont have to kill anything to get treasure (except mimics), so its not bounty.
I think thats what was going through NCs mind when they named them such.
but im mean those dont need to make sense. Its like DA's what are they avenging? i just think it would be cooler they could be Mercernaries or sumthin cool like that. lol. BTW i just hit 40 today on my Rogue/HE so im excited lol. woot woot! +10 emi
I think NCsoft just screwed up and they don't want to look stupid and change it. There are a number of things that didn't translate well from korean.
On my gladiator I have a skill called Monster Weakness. The image on the skill becomes "Beast" when I put my pointer over the same image on mobs. I think they screwed up the translation or there are specific mobs that are monsters and not beasts, but have the same symbol. I didn't use this skill for like 20 levels cuz i'm like, why the hell do i have this monster waekness, and no mob is a monster. I was also like, when do i get this Beast weakness skill?
Also there's an item called "a lady's hairpin" and the recipe for it is just called "hairpin" and the mats are just called "hairpin". Hello, what about "a lady's hairpin recipe"
Also, the term "bounty hunter" = an assassin, a hitman, or someone who finds people for rewards.
A treasure hunter, hunts for treasure, by spoiling mobs and changing their interior, so they are spoilers.
One argument for bounty hunters is that people who need key mats will try to get a bh to help them farm the mats, but still that leaves no excuse for treasure hunters. I assume that treasure hunters can open treasure chests, but I think their main function is to do damage and a BH's main function is to get treasure.
So I think NCsoft screwed up. It would be interesting to see how the Korean would translate. To further prove my point, their 3rd class transfer is fortune seeker for a dwarf and adventurer for a treasure hunter.
