List of DD's

I was just wondering what are considered DD's? Is the term of dd a person that does the most amount of damage in a short period of time? Im new to Lineage 2(only been playing 2 weeks LVL 32 human Rogue) and was just wondering what classes qualify
Melee DD's (Heavy):
Galdiator
Warlord
Bladedancer
Destroyer
Warsmith
Bounty Hunter

Melee DD's (Light):
Treasure Hunter
Plains Walker
Abyss Walker
Tyrant

Ranged DD's (Light):
Hawkeye
Silver Ranger
Phantom Ranger

Ranged DD's (Robe):
Sorcerer
Necromancer
Spellsinger
Spellhowler

Misc:
Warlock
Elemental Summoner
Phantom Summoner
WS and BH? :p
According to their icon in the party window, yes.

"Close Range Attack Type Fighter: Warsmith/Bounty Hunter"
ok sure according to there icon. How bout realisticly?(SP)

The technically correct term would be "roadbump", I think.
lol aww come on. I love dwarves. They just dont hit hard enough to be considered a DD. I think they do deserve hate though. They can really take a beating.

WS is at the top of the list for consistant melee damage output
with a full str/crit build and full golem spam the only classes that come close are tyrants BD's and destroyers
Oh you got me there. I forgot about the golem. I could see DD from a WS now. Good call.
Hmmm, whats a DD?

I'm guessing its a term for a specific class type... but so far the actuall meaning is escaping me.
damage dealer.
If your gonna include dorfs, you should also include SwSs.. and then you would have to consider including tanks as well? Every class can do damage... just for a lot of classes its not a whole lot of damage. Depends where you draw the line....

True DDs:
Daggers
Archers
Glads
Tyrants
Destroyers
Warlords - aoe DD.

Dorfs are money making creatures that do damage.
BDs and SwSs are buffers who have decent damage output (tho thats mostly because they always have SwS/BD buffs :p )
Nukers are partly crowd control. SHs and Necros Id definatly call DDs due to their more flexible mp supply. Sorcs and SpS I would call more crowd control than DDs. Depends on the group though....
As for summoners.. depends on which summon they have out. The buffing summon doesnt do a whole lot of damage.... Their PvP summon tho really hurts!!
Guess this thread is all about perception really. I do like your list. Guess its hard to define exactly what a DD is. The first time someone referred to a nuker as a DD I was a bit confused. Though that person was right a nuker does extreme amounts of damage I always thought they were nukers and not DD's :p
I always considered the DD to be the toon focusing on damage only. Some people in the party have main jobs aka...the buffer, the tank, the healer, mob control and ......the damage dealer!

i think its really a matter of where you draw the line
a BD (although someone said they arent a DD) is more than capable of outdamageing a dagger over time

i said a WS is a DD because unless you have 3 rechargers on a dagger they wont be able to consistently output that damage forever
far as im concerned, you throw vr and prophet buffs on a BD and they are prolly the best melee dd in game
thanks for all the replies. Greatly appreciated.
I have to agree about the BD. My wife is a 66 BD with Tallum Heavy and +8 TSU*SLS. With prophet buffs and her dances, she flies through the mobs, doing insane damage.

As for nukers... If all your nuker is doing is CC, then he isn't a DD. In most of the parties I'm in, the OL or Bishop does CC and the nukers nuke. Some melee classes may be able to do more damage than a nuker over time, but nukers are definitely damage dealers.
how come i dont see a single response containing an SK as a DD?
My SWS does a truckload of damage btw.... Easily the same or better than an equivolent bladedancer with the same swords, except I rely on crits, and a bladedancer relies on speed.

**** I'm jealous,

I have a glad, lvl 61 using +6tsu*sls and Full tallum set (without the helm) and I still do pretty well for myself. I assume once I finally get that bloody Tallum helm, I'm going to waste the mobs. My P.atk will be 1100+ and my speed will be 582. So I think I will do pretty well. I have +4 dex-4con and +4 str -4 con dyes.

I do some very good game. The 1100 p.atk is with warcry.

Of all the DD's which one has the highest dmg output. I guess the calculation would go something like this.

[p.atk + (crit p.atk x crit%)]x(speed) = that should give an overall number and it would be cool to see which classes, with all things being equal, do most dmg. This number would be without using special skills.

Do dagger users, just hitting normally do more damage than gladiators just hitting normally?

I just love my gladdy :)

Qais
i'll repeat, what about the SKs people !?!
arent they considered as DDs? wheres the love at?
*crickets chirping*
bah!

...oh c'mon!
SKs are tanks. They have, arguably, the best damage output of the tanking classes, to be sure, but their prime role is to keep the mob focused on them and absorb hits.

The best way to look at a DD, compared to someone who is just hitting a mob, is to look at DPS (damage per second). Sure, a Swordsinger can out-damage a dagger user over time, if the dagger isn't using VS and specials, but the SwS is going to need 15 minutes to accrue that many criticals, where as the dagger-user has a higher output of damage per second. Simple way to compare the two is to have a SwS and, say, a TH of the same level and comparable gear fight the same mobs. Who's mob dies faster? That's the person with the best DPS.
LOL your just asking about the damage of a glad compared to a dagger user because I always mess with you about your glad. My wife has a Glad and I cannot stand to play it. A dagger user has insane critical attacks. I cant say which 1 does more damage. Its all about play style really. I cant play a Glad. But I play my AW well. I just have to mess with you so you dont realize my weakness in not being able to play that class. :(

a real DD is able to consistently output damage
while a dagger might be able to 1 hit a mob its also as likely to fail 3 specials in a row then rest for mp
IMHO BD is prolly the best melee DD
Tezra you got to play my glad with full clan hall buffs. Now that is nasty. Once I get tallum helm, with GSAP, my speed will be 570 with a p.atk at 1100 or so with a 152 crit rate. :)

at the high lvls (I mean extreme lvls) destroyer is the undisputed DPS master.

prolly true but the run speed really lets them down
