Was camping the Nighmare groups hoping to get the Nightmare guide to drop the shadow flare spellbook. After killing for several hours I have decided that as a 44th level spellhowler I am really set up for 1 on 1 mobs and am not very efficient at the 1 on 4 mobs hunting the Nightmares. However with tempest at 48 I could hunt that spellbook far more effectively.
The questions then becomes, where is the best exp / hour hunting for a solo 44th through 47th level spellhowler. (ie I would like to get to 48 asap)
I have a +3 Demon set with a +3 ghoul staff and I have all my skills except shadow flare (obviously). I have 8 year old triplets and 2 have autism so they keep me very busy and I level catch as catch can (20 min here 40 min there) so groups are almost always out.

Go to Heine, and port into Entrance ot alligator Island, kill the 2x Mobs just over the hill from the port in, they should last you until 47~48. Move to Cemetary after that, then out until FP. Once you get 61, then there is several areas after that, VoS/FG/FoTD.
I would reccomend the Archers of Greed and the Hatar Ratmen Theives in front of and south of the Cemetary. The Archers, particularly, are easy kills. They give around 4k xp a kill.
If i recall correct pretty fast/good xp in timac camp and hunters valley, in hunters valley there is a entire field with 1 shots. Very nice xp. Cant remember exact what lvls where. Another good side with these places is that its kinda desolate, so wasnt bothered much. Well mainly i was hunting OL SB for a clannie, but xp was good.
I would never advise solo hunting multiple hp mobs to a nuker. Nukers are all about killing stuff before it can reach them.
And the place to level? Ivory Tower pit. Just ignore the golems. Be carefull with eyes if you have poor jewlery (they are agro... but wind weak).
Overall this was a perfect exping spot for a SH 40-48ish.
Just find the correct mob you can two- or one shot (yes, with emp some mobs there can be one-shot when green/white). When you are able to kill higher stuff, move on.
I did 30-52 on Alligator Island. Nos lads gave me around 8k exp towards then end. I used a Demon set, Ghoul's Staff- mana up, and +4 int, -4 men (save the +4 wit -4 men til later, it really kills your regen time) There's a couple good quests there also. Conquest of alligator Island, Hunting for Treasure, and Alligator Hunter. I've gotten many Elven Mithril Gloves & c Wep & arm enchants from these quests. plus the mobs drop around 1k adena. I loved that place :)
Thanks much for the great advice. I did try Ally Island and the exp is great for each mob but I am still 3 hit to kill them. I also found out the hard way that they are cross species social =( Went back to the Ivory tower and did one shot Enchanted Eyes. Worked out not too bad 3 shots on Ally Island netted me 5.5K exp and 3 shots on eyes netted me 7.5K exp. Ding 45 BTW =) Finaly netted a shadow flare spellbook (I get sick when I think how much I paid for it) so with this upgrade in firepower I think I can 2 shot Ally island (the croakin lad at least) which will make it more exp efficient than the eyes. However, I think I will try the hunters valley first.
