I am curious about how raid loot goes

I was wondering how the loot system is setup for raids.

I know in anarchy Online there were raid bots setup, and you earned pts per raid that you used to "bid" on items.

And in EQ2 they have a random loot option built in.

I am wondering what the usual raid loot system is in this game.
Same as normal party loot. :( You get an announcement of what was dropped if someone in your party participated in the raid (usually, not always mind you - it's a big buggy) and then the drops get prioritised to the group that did most damage (which also got most experience, yay!).
oh, so there is no real set system then?

Is it usually a need before greed system, or do most ppl just take all the loot to make $$$?
My alliance has a DKP system set up, and you buy raid loot based on your point count. And in our case, it's need before greed. That is: if I need a Tallum Helmet, I'll get it before Joe (who just wants to sell it for the almost 200m it's worth).
i dont care about the loot.. i just luv the great xp i get... whole 1k of it :)

That's always fun. 6 raids in one night and I got ~1% EXP. I did, however, come away with some decent loot and a lot of fun.
What Maline said, no system really, not anything built in the game.

In reality it depends on your clan/rules really. Most have a "need before greed" set up though. You aren't allowed to buy something for low just to turn around and make a mad profit, if it's some useless item it's either crushed for crystals or sold to buy something someone actually needs. No one raids without rules in place ahead of time, of some kind.
well that is ok, I dont mind the point based/honor system lol

i was just kinda curious on how they usually went

everyone who is close to the raid boss when he dies get the loot announcement ;)

<-- got 18 MILLION xp for antharas, no deaths ;)
experience with six digits is quite a lot for any melee from a raid boss ;)

Blah. When we our parties to have nukers in ever group, I got about 250k EXP. Still, I won't complain. Getting crappy EXP was how I got my Majestic armor mats.
