Small suggestion, IRC chat was bad, 100% from the people popping in and not the DJ's. I would recommend cleaning up some of the more nasty verbal comments in IRC chat if I am to continue to hop in IRC chat. Radio was awsome, ROCK ON!
Other then that I was there to help with the launch and it was fun! Put an order in for some titles (first person to request metallica), \m/ >< \m/
I will forever be listening from now on. Thanks guys
Shonan and Jester you guys rock! I still hate shonan so don't worry!
IRC Chat - Yes, we were FAR more lax last night than we normally would be. It was the first night, no need to run people off that quickly. Now that things are running smooth and its calmed down a little bit, rules enforcement will return to its normal strictness.
Yes, I AM the one reporting which songs are played, and no, Im not a DJ. Once the new Radio-bot script is working, I can stop reporting songs :P
Thanks to everyone who tuned in last night, and joined in IRC. Keep tuning in! There's still PLENTY of prizes to be given away if we can keep the listener count up there!
I have to say that I'm actualy disapointed at the radio this far. It's the same generic rock that 99% of the only radio shows have. There wasn't realy any diferense between the DJ's. (of those I've heard that is) They were playing more or less the same music, didn't talk very much (if you dont count advertising the radio's website) and when they did talk it sounded like they were more intrested about their voice sounding "cool" then focusing on what they were saying.
I have a couple of tips for you (from my opinion atleast;)
- Have a bigger veriaty on the music and not only generic rock.
- Talk about stuff. This is the Lineage radio so talk about the game so that the show stands out from all the other rock shows online.
- Don't focus on sounding "cool" on the show. Focus on saying intresting things.
And yes I know that it's probobly out of your hands (the wonders of American laws and all) but the one thing that made me stop listening was that you censor the lyrics. And that is something I just can't stand.
This is my 2 cents this far. Dont get me wrong. I think it's realy cool that you guys are doing this. All from Shonen to all the Dj's that do this on their free time. And if I had the time I would probobly have tried to get some air time aswell (I miss DJing online)

I must second this. It's a nice initiative but it needs some support from all of us to actually be worth listening.
we are working through them. I need more people for the day shifts specifically (since im usually tied up till 4pm....**** gnomes...)
I have a BUNCH of new hires, but its getting them trained and ready to go that can be tough ;) alot more goes into this than OOOO you have music and a mic that works! *push onto the air* GoGOoGoGOOGOGOoGoGoGoG Have fun! Don't get freaked by the 3billion PMs of people who just want to say "HI" :)
lol
its so true...I'm going to take a screenie one time to show you all.
I listen to country music and I'm a very well rounded person...*twitch*
lol...
I actually listen to some Blue Grass on occassion. Eddie from Ohio anyone?
Blue Grass, in small doses is okay.
I prefer more "technical" music. Almost any form of music is sufferable if it's technical enough (yes, even some country). Simple is just, well, simple and boring.
Oh, and if you wanna listen to some kickass banjo music, check out Bela Fleck. For killer fiddle music, check out Mark O'Connor.

Technical as in "there is a lot of compostional process" Such as Bach or Technical as in "there is a lot of physical technique used in order to play it" Such as Rush, Thelonius Monk or Pagannin?

Yes to both (Rush is my favorite band, btw). Ever listen to Emerson, Lake and Palmer?

lol.. yeah.
And Rush was one of my favorites in High School.
About a year and a half ago, I got together with some friends and we did a "Prog Rock Night" marathon. Sitting around listening to ELP or Led Zeppelin (hmmm... well.. Zeppelin is a bit hard for that but anywho) or whatever (Genesis [early] Yes etc), drinking beers and talking.

What a good night!
Well, ELP is probably the best merging of Rock and Classical that I can think of. Plus, they're awesome live.
