Well I'v now leveled my Glad to lvl 58 and I actually think he levels quite fast.
Yes I know its with full PP+SE buff, but when I compare to my SH lvl62 the Glad seems to level quite allright.
At lvl 62 my SH can make approx. 10%/hour
At lvl58 my Gladiator can make approx. 20%/hour.
Both SH/Glad are solo and with oop buffs from PP+SE.
I think the whole lvling process depends on what area you level in and with what class.
For example, while trying to level my SH in GC it was a desaster. Those 2xHP mobs takes way to long time to kill and many are social with each other.
But leveling my SH in VoS using Hurricane-Shadow Flare combination (for over-hit) really works nice. Also (if there is no SS-lag) using CDL in VoS makes it possible to one-shoot a lot of the mobs.
When lelveling my Glad in VoS it worked quite allright, but the Wisdoms "flame spell", the Flames "flame strike" and the Blades "ultimate evasion" really annoys me. One can easily get overrunned as a melee class there.
But when I level him in GC I can hunt in the first rooms forever. He can take out a Beast Lord group in less then 50 sec. and thus gain 65.000-75.000XP for one group.(depending on my luck making over-shot with TS).
And then the best part is that the Beast Lord group respawns really quick, its like 1-2 minutes after the Beast Lord him self is killed. So basicly I can kill like 20-22 Beast Lords Groups pr. hour. Between killing Beast Lords Groups I kill the other 2xHP mobs.
So compared to a Nuker, the Gladiator can actually level as fast.
And another thing..... The Gladiator is BUILD for leveling SA Grystals, I usually makes like 4 pcs. lvl7 crystals in 1,5 hour thats equal to a net profit of 2,5kk.
Whats your experience with leveling a Gladiator (or anyother classes)?.
Normally i dont post in these sections. And since i got internet again at my work desktop i will tell u my experience.
First of all your glad is 58 and your SH is 62, U know there is a XP wall at around 60, so your glad will slow down significantly after 60.
My main is a duelist 76 now and my SH 75.
Where i took about 2 years total for my glad , it took 4 months to lvl my subclass SH to 75. Ofcourse u will need a SE with the proper level and preferrably a prophet at those lvl to 2 shot mobs.
2 shot mobs or CDL is the key xp for spellhowlers.
I could tell u my experience as a glad but that was a while ago and most XP were gathered groupwise.
Toi 9 and Imperial Tomb (L room, close to 4 sepulcher) are the places for a lvl 70+ glad.
I think catacombs can do very well.
Also check the physical and magical resist mobs.
For your SH vos and forest of the death are the solo places. If u can take your SE and prophet in party and lvl them up.
BUt as this thread is about Gladiators. A clanmember lvld quite fast using an ofparty WC around DC area till he was lvl 70 ish so that is a place u might want to try out.
I think it also depends on the gear that the Glad is using, to base the experience level as decent.
I have a level 50+ Prophet if your on the Sieg server, I can buff ya! :D
Yes I'm well aware of the lvl walls, I still remember the one between lvl50 and 51 :(.
If I compare my Glad lvl58 vs my SH lvl62 needed XP, I come up with the following result:
Glad lvl58 - 59 : need 11,8kk XP, Glad. makes approx, 20% an hour.
SH lvl62 - 63 : need 22,1kk XP, SH makes approx, 10% an hour.
If I then calculate the actually gained XP/hour for the two classes I come to the following result:
Glad. 11,8kk XP *20% = 2,36kk XP/hour
SH 22,1kk XP *10% = 2,2kk XP/hour.
both the classes are hunting in an area where the mobs are lvl55-62, so the gain in XP/HP should be almost the same.
Again thx for the info about good hunting grounds for a Glad. As it is now my MAIN the SH, is getting close to being my "second-main" :)
Just because I personally think hunting with a Gladiator i **** fun :)
Thx for the offer, but I'm playing on Teon :).
And as it is now I have a lvl60 Prophet and a lvl60 Shillen Elder which I trio-box with.
so When I "power-levle" with my Gladiator, I usually use those two buffers out of party (all XP goes to me ) :)
I use BW-heavy Set and a pait of TSU*SLS+6, So I'm quite well equipped.
Actually I only "power-level" 20% of the time. Normally I party with a DA lvl57, a WS lvl55(his Pole comes in handy when wacking Beast Lord groups), a SE lvl51 and a SO lvl39.
We use this setup mainly to lvl the two SE/SO.
Oh if you think 50-51 is bad, what until your late 60's lol.
Leveling a glad really isnt that bad, the biggest problem that i have is trying to find good XP mobs that dont stun. Higher up in levels it seems like alot of the best mobs stun/debuff or use some type of magic, which are two of a gladiators weak areas.
I'm a 62 gladiator and I'm kind of worried about my gladiator.
Basically, I go to level in one of four spots. FG, FP, Ascetics and Patriots. I have full clan hall buffs and I use GSAP at times. Our clan hall is in Giran. Which is great because I love the market, but kind of far away from my leveling spots.
Basically, my xp goes like this, assume there aren't any PvP interference and I'm relatively alone in the area. Of course patriots/ascetics are overrun with "players". But this is the breakdown.
FP: 2.25 - 2.75 xp per 20 minutes buff session, I lose 3 minutes in traveling from Giran to when I actually start hitting monsters. So my xp is basically 2.50%xp per/17 minutes
FG: 2% xp per 20 minute buffing (good to lvl crystals)
Ascetis: 2.5% per 20 minute buffing (i only lose 1-2 minutes to get there)
Patriots: 1.75% xp per 20 minutes, i have to run through the first 2 rooms and I usually aggro a few.
My gear is +6tsu*sls, tallum set (WITHOUT HELM). I am assuming with helm i'll get around a 15% xp bonus due to 8% speed increase and + to strength.
But when I ask a silver ranger friend who levels in DC and uses 2-box prophet, he gets 4-5% xp per 20 minute buff round. Essentially he's leveling twice as fast as I am. I know he gets a boost because he can just 2-box himself.
Any tips on other leveling spots? How about grouping with specific classes?
Yes I compleatly agree, thats actually why the Beast Lord Groups is good for the Gladiator:
1) Only the Beast Lord him self can stun the Gladiator.
2) The Beast Lord and the 2 out of the 4 minions are Race:Animal, and therefor the Gladiator benefit from the "weakness : animals" skill.
3) They Spawn Really Quick(in like 2 minutes).
4) Only the Yentzu are aggo, so only they do folow the Beast Lord.
5) The Beast Lord group can easily be pulled out on the bridge and thus be worked without interference from other spawning mobs.
.... thats just my experences.
If you know anyother plases like this, I'll be glad(iator) to
