Spell howler needs advice

Okay I've reached "A grade" and up until now I've just brought any old items to play with. But as "A grade" is so expensive It's time I paid attention to what's best for my Char. Play style I go out solo alot but enjoy to party too.

So whats the best/better armour for my class
whats the best/better weapon and weapon SA
and while I have your attention what Dyes should I be thinking about.

Hoping for some constructive advise.. so thanks in advance as I really do need some proper advise.

So you think everyone will say go for the P def +8% and 15% faster casting speed.. Hmmm will the +2 wit make the casting speed even faster or is that included in the 15%. I hate Sitting regening but with C5 we getting MP pots dropped while we hunt so maybe that won't be so bad

It depends on what you mostly do. Also, I love it where you find some people saying that you should have one setup for PvP and the other setup for PvE and switch between them.

However, for the rest of us who can only afford one set

If you want to do PvP you really are going to need DC for speed. If you are in groups then I imagine you could go nightmare for the extra damage but it never really works out well that way.

So, Dark Crystal. For the weapon, I would say Sword of Miracles with acumen so you can have a shield. Anything to help against archers. Otherwise Branch of the Mother tree with Acumen.

If you mostly do Raids or PvE. Don't care about PvP then Nightmare robes. Uh... can't help you on a good PvE weapon setup other than SoM or BotMT

For tatoos...

I have +4 Int, +4 Wit and +4 Con.

Believe it or not, the +4 Con seems to help with things like stun shot.

If you do a lot of PvE though You might look at +5 Int for the extra damage.

In the end you will want to invest in at least a +4 Wit for the casting speed (I believe that is one for the casting speed... it's been a while :eek: )

SH casts so slowly compared to other mages. You really need it.

Now.. one thing you might want to do is invest in Demon set for PvE. The Added "+" for Int will add nicely to the damage. The only issue is that you will have less mana in your pool and of course low PDef. But I have seen some SH's do this.

Oh... just saw your response about regen. As an SH you should rarely have to sit and regen. So just don't let that thought get into your head. You won't notice the hit to the regen. Just carry some greater heal potions. If you are low on MP then Body to mind many times, take a GHP and do a vamp claw and Corpse life drain... you'll be back in business.

I know an SH that uses Majestic robes and SoM/Acu and she does very well in solo and groups. Oh btw she is mostly PVE an raids.

My guess is that it is becuase of the increased mp regen, increased mana, mana regen and extra casting speed. It does have -1 to intelligence though. Which might not be a big deal I suppose.

It looks like a pimp suit on a dark elf though. You might be harrassed by "the man" if you wear it.

Thanks for the info so far, need to raise a bit of cash for the armour, but have a SOM now need to get it's SA yet.

I'll keep reading But PvE is what I do most and no way can I afford two sets so I'll need to choose the right armour once I have the adena.

Yes.. join the rest of the sheep nukers in picking the speed set.

Then in mass pvp when I 2 shot you with my damage setup.. you can complain.

Enhance the SpellHowlers natural ability to do damage.. MAX m.atk ftw.. screw the speed set.. in mass pvp speed isnt actually as handy as raw firepower.
90% of the time you dont shoot back at the person killing you anyways.. If you target someone first.. they die.. if someone targets you first.. you die.

I prefer the damage build with NM and a SoM... please go join the rest of the cookie cutter nukers and go DC like a good sheeple.. ty

well alot of nuker fights depend on spell breakage
only way to combat that is speed++

I'll join teh club with this. I had zubei through B grade and it was such a relief to get into a set with cast speed bonus instead of matk. Sure I mourned the little bit of extra damage per nuke but that goes away as you level anyways and I survived a whole lot better when I did start getting more involved in PvP. Also, the rare times I group with anyone it made it so I could actually get more than one shot off before the mob was dead.
