I posted these stories once a few years ago, but since I have come back to L2 I wanted to share it with some who might have not read them before. The three of them do not go together so read them as individuals. Hope you enjoy.

Chaos Within The Storm.

The rain is coming in.
I can feel the electricity dance across my skin.
It will be a magnificent storm.
The wind brings me the scent of rain.
It is cold and crisp as it glides across my face.
I relish in the thought of the chaos the storm will bring.
My mind is still with the rolling storm clouds, as my body reacts.
I’m standing up reaching for my sword as my mind catches up.
My eyes lock on the object as it breaks through trees into the clearing.
I stay my hand, as I look into the eyes of a Dark Elf female.
She is hurt, afraid, and shocked at my presence.
But her eyes whisper to me for help.
The snap of a twig off to my left.
Our eyes remained locked as my Katana is drawn from its sheath.
She never flinches when it passes just in front of her face.
Her hair flows in the turbulence it creates.
I cut down her attacker; he never makes a sound.
More are coming, and they are many.
With out a word we begin to run.
From one storm, into another.
I allow her to lead covering her from any more attacks.
I take a moment to assess her wounds.
It is only one, but it is enough.
She holds her left hand over the broken arrow in her side.
I find myself impressed with her will to survive.
The chaos I was waiting for begins to fall all around us.
The rain is heavy and hard making her almost disappear in front of me.
The ground is quickly saturated, and we are now splashing through puddles.
Lightning streaks the sky.
For a brief moment I once again can see her.
She does not look very good. The arrow might have been laced with poison.
We must get it out before it takes full affect.
I grab her hand and we veer off to the right.
I pull her down into a patch or thorn bushes.
No one in their right mind would enter them willingly.
But we have no choice.
My armor protects me from most of the sharp thorns.
She is wearing very little.
The sharp thorns greet her slender body.
Her blood is washed away with the rain.
I lower her down on top of me saving her from the sharp ground.
Her face is close to mine as we listen to our pursuers running by.
I focus on a cut across her smooth tanned cheek.
It bleeds slightly, proving the sharpness of the thorns.
I whisper in her ear of what must be done.
Her eyes agree with me, but I see the fear of pain in them.
I place my hand over hers, and she buries her face in the side of my neck.
We thrust together.
Her body jerks sharply as the arrow is pressed through.
I pull it out the other side and let if fall to the ground.
Her body collapses into mine.
She doesn’t move.
Once again I am impressed.
She never made a sound.
I feel her breath on my neck, short and quick.
The pain must be great.
I have nothing but my hand to stop the bleeding.
So I press on her back where the arrow came through.
The rain is cold on the top of my hand.
Her blood is warm beneath it.
They are as different as her and I:
Blood and water; Human and Elf.
But we are brought together.
Within the chaos of the storm.

A Glimpse of Heaven.

It is dark here in the shadows.
But I know it's safer within them.
The light is a tattletale.
Giving one away to those that would harm.
My back is against a large tree.
I sit here and stare out from beneath my black hood.
The only sound is a small waterfall feeding into the pool below it.
The night's cool air has brought with it the sneaking mist.
It slowly glides across the grassy shore, and over the small pool of water.
I catch glimpses of the water here and there.
The moon's silver light can't reach it through the glowing mist.
The water is dark and inviting.
The mist tries to keep it hidden from me.
I look past it.
I become lost in the depths of the water.
It pulls my mind into its dark reaches.
Together we swim our way to places in the past.
It is not a place I enjoy going.
My world is not one of beauty.
Yet escape is not an option.
Not when the sin is burned into one's soul.
Ghosts of my past haunt me.
Each one tears at my soul.
They all want to bring me down.
I will not let it happen.
My soul has been stained with each life taken.
The stain is deep, and the bodies stacked high.
I was born into the life of a killer.
I was raised to become, and become I did.
It wasn't my choice, but it never really is.
My thoughts are shattered.
Ripples spread across the water.
There is a type of beauty in the chaos the ripples create.
My eyes snap to the source.
To my surprise I find a Light Elven female.
She stands on the opposite bank.
Her foot is testing the water.
She does not see me in my shroud of darkness.
She does not know I watch her from its dark embrace.
I find my hand on the hilt of my dagger.
It always seems to find it's way there.
She is not a threat so I remove my hand.
Once again I feel myself becoming lost.
This one is not cold and dark like the water.
She is a candle in the night air.
Warm and welcoming.
I search my mind for something to describe her.
Only one comes to me.
Pure.
She is not like others.
Tainted by the world.
I try and look away as she undresses.
But it is not her naked body I see.
It is the beauty of her pure soul that calls to me.
I wish to get up and move into the light.
I want her to see me, and acknowledge my existence.
But I don't move.
You would never touch a dirty rag to your clean dishes.
And I would never stain her with my existence.
The water embraces her, and how I envy it.
I find myself hating what I have become.
It hurts to know what I can never have.
I silently move away from the silver pool.
She will not know that I left.
Because she will never know that I exist.
It is a cruel joke to show one a glimpse of heaven.
When he must look at it from the pits of hell.
Blood is my life.
Death is my name.
I am an assassin.

Close

The arrow was close.
He lifts his hand to his face.
Blood drips down his cheek.
A minor cut.
The arrow was close.
He turns to his healer to show her.
"Did you see that?"
His body freezes.
The arrow was close.
His sword falls from his hand.
He doesn't hear it hit the ground.
He doesn't hear anything.
His only thought is of his life.
His life that now lays motionless on the ground.
The arrow was close.
He does not remember moving, but now he is at her side.
She is barely breathing.
His hands are shaking as he touches her face.
His voice shakes with fear.
"Come on baby open your eyes."
Her almond shaped eyes flutter open and closed.
He can see she is fighting the darkness.
He can see she is losing the fight.
His eyes move down to the arrow that has pierced her chest.
Her once smooth, dark Elvin skin now torn and bleeding.
By the arrow, that had been so close.
Her slender Elvin hand finds his.
Their fingers interlace.
His Human, hers Elvin.
The bond unbreakable.
Her voice is weak but her words are clear.
"It's not your fault my love."
Her words pierce his heart deeper than the arrow did hers.
The great warrior's tears begin to fall.
His heart, nothing but a shattered mess.
One final kiss before the darkness takes her.
One final kiss before his own darkness swallows him.
Death whispers her name.
She has no choice but to follow.
His soul cries out.
No one hears it.
Nice :)
