Heavy armor and duals and they do fairly well at pve. Considering your a scavvy you probably wont want to use the skills you get for blunt and pole so you can spoil more I say duals for sure. My scavvy is sweet with that set up.
Two hand sword (self-buffed) or mithril dagger (outside buffs available) for single-target money-making with spoil & manor, don't bother with duals; they're a waste of money and space (unless you want the cute look, but 2H swords are cute also).
Polearm if you're not that interested in making money per level and want to get to higher levels for specific spoils. It'll use less consumables per hit and level you much faster than a single-target weapon could.
in my experience the polearm (borrowed +7 glaive) mowed down low mobs but you took a lot of hits from mobs because the darned thing missed a lot :)
With newer scavi I went blunt and shield--hits a lot more consistently and every once in awhile that stun is useful.
If your toon is melee with one of the weaker patks--regardless of class--you are GOING TO GET HIT BY MOBS.
Which means heaviest armor you can afford. Always always always.
Never tried duals on dwarf though the duals I use to level my palus knight are like a mowing machine (and pk doesn't have skills for their use) against mobs.
The answer in part depends on where and how you play. If you are always solo out in hunting grounds use the blunt or duals. If you are in cata's/necros then consider the pole--or if you party/duo a lot.
with my spoiler i preferred plated leather and a 2h sword if partied. If solo you take a bit more damage so heavy prolly. Either way never get a blunt and get 2h or duals.
Considering theres already a ocean of dwarves sitting in Giran I swore to myself Id never have one... but they just too cute to resist.
My lil scavvy just hit lvl 20. Whats the pros/cons between blunts and polearms, as well as heavy/light armour for em.
If you have a buffbot w/Acc, Haste and or VR go for the Swords. I've used a dagger with good effect pre-20, but post 20 the Acc hit is a bit too much. Especially with the increased numbers of evasion mobs. Like every other char out there...crits=damage.
If your solo or taking it easy on the consumables get a blunt. You have no shield skills and even with shield buffs, the boost is almost negligable, so this is a good time to use the new 2H blunts out there.
Polearms aren't that great outside of AOE specific hunting. If you have the buffbot it will be fine for solo. Without that, you may as well not get a pole unless you have extra cash just laying around or are just filling time between AOE rounds.
For armor there really is only one choice....Heavy.
For SA's it's the usual Health/Haste/Focus/Rsk.XYZ with one additional one I like. Mana Up. There are a few decent one hand blunts with this SA. And while you will take a bit of a Patk hit, it's not that big of a deal...the extra 30% MP for spoiling and such is However! If your feeling wild and crazy, party all the time or have a VR buffbot permanently attached to your posterior you may want to even try Conversion! (I don't really recommend this though...)
umm on hindemith 107's are cheaper than other top d weapons. Also hitting with 2 hands is not a waste of anything. Fast kills are always a plus to me.
